Juice Plus+ is distributed by National Safety Associates (NSA) via multi-level marketing (MLM). NSA also marketed water and air filters. Sales are generally by independent who receive various levels of commissions based on their volume and the sales made by any distributors they recruit.
Criticism
Juice Plus has been widely criticized by various nutrition experts and research institutions including the Center for Science in the Public Interest, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, University of Pennsylvania's Abrahamson Cancer Center, University of California Berkeley Wellnes Letter, and Tufts University Health & Nutrition Letter. These sources noted that any beneifts the product may have are due to the fact that it contains added vitamins and that it does not deliver comparable benefits to real fruits and vegetables. The research on Juice Plus has been characterized as poorly designed, unreliable, and inconclusive, and several sources have criticized the product's advertising for being deceptive and misleading.
