I tried the lemon yogurt with chopped apple and walnuts yesterday. I think I will try some celery or raisins in it next time. I only ate half the container of yogurt at a time as a serving was 190 calories in the only brand I could find in lemon. I probably should have gone to WalMart.
Lipton has a new tea to go that I just found this weekend at Walmart. It is called Energize To Go and sells for around $2.00 for 10 little packets. Great to carry in your purse. I bought the blueberry pomegranate flavor. They were $3.34 at the regular grocery store. |

I went to a bar b q place for lunch and noticed they had cold smoked chickens for sale that had been cooked the day before for 2 for $5. I took them home and pulled the mest off the bone and made a sandwich with guacamole on it and put a little in my soup. I love smoked meat occasionally, so it was a treat. You can also get cold sides of ribs at these places for a lot less. They probably have sugar in the sauce though. |

Keep with it Bronwyn. This plan sooooooo works! I'm not special...this will happen for all of us. Are you worried at all about tonight? Do the girls usually go for sweets after dinner? That can be a problem...social situations. You won't want to be the only one abstaining from sugar, or will you? |

Tonight is a concern actually.....Vietnamese food is healthy food........the vermicelli bowls are wonderful: they are served in big bowls with vermicelli noodles on the bottom topped with lots of fresh vegetables and spicy meats. The noodles are likely rice flour and the sauces likely have sugar in them. There wont' be a brown rice option but I could have rice, veggies and meat but I know the meat is spicy and sweet (obviously there is sugar in it). The desserts are fun and super sweet but I don't have any problem not having the dessert,,,,,the challenge will be even figuring out the main dish. I am sure there is a significant amount of sugar because after the meal you feel really full but I find I am hungry quite quickly after and craving something sweet.
I have two clubs each month with two different sets of friends. It is actually quite nice. It is easy to never make arrangements with people and to let things slide but these two organized get togethers ensures that you keep connected. One of the clubs is a book club and I am hosting this month,,,,,so I can easily figure the food out to suit NFNS. The other club always involves some eating but we don't necessarily eat out .... we have done a lot of different things on our evenings out including horse back riding. The only stressful part is when it is your turn to organize what we are going to do.
Anyways now I am heading back down the scale I don't want to get back into the up and down and go no place syndrome that I have been doing for so long now. I don't want an off night!
Sounds like everyone is on track even if things may be slow. Debbie M. do whatever it takes to not get discouraged about the plateau......that is what undid the benefits of my efforts was when I got discouraged and slowly starting adding back in foods I should not have. Is all the halloween candy out of the house....not likely with that many young kids loot bags. I couldn't keep out of my kids candy.....it was a real issue for me. They would go to school and I would be home alone with all that candy....THAT IS THE REAL SPOOKY CREEPY PART OF HALLOWEEN IS ALL THE CANDY I used to buy it from them and then get rid of it.....I know that sounds so lame that I had so little control but around candy it is true.....i needed it gone. |

I think you should take your own food to the restaurant. Seriously...why not? You would be safe to have a salad, if they have them. And drag that out while slipping your hand in your purse for the main course. You will have the smartest hands in the joint! Then, maybe take along some yummy tea and order boiling water and add some Splenda. You are definitely on a roll and the momentum just gets stronger the more you stick with it. We have to be clever to get through these things. Your home cooked fare is probably better than the restaurants anyway. (Keep telling yourself that!) |

Morning all. 153 this morning.
I am so glad election day is behind us. The local battles with their negative commercials have finally gone away. Just having those negative campaigns silenced makes me feel more optimistic.
Well Bronwyn, how did it go last night? Remember, if you didn't stick to the plan...no biggie. After all, it was just one meal. Get back on. Or, if you ate NFNS, way to go! Either way your a winner because you'll be waking up NFNS today.
Hilda, I am always impressed with the variety of foods you eat. Yesterday I ironed ALL DAY. There was a "House" marathon on and it kept me company as I labored. Anyway, in one of the shows a patient had a vitamin K deficiency. She ate very poorly. I ran to my vitamin bottle to see if K was in there. Whew! It was. I don't imagine you ever need to worry about getting all your vitamins and minerals. Earlier in one of your posts you mentioned maintenance. Did you go off the plan for awhile? Had you become bored without F & S?
Taking my mother in law to the doctor today. I'm sure we will get all our Thanksgiving plans ironed out. I'll be biting my tongue all afternoon!
Later all. |

Happy with the older clothes size 14 I am able to wear now.I am watching portion sizes more now and trying to lose again. Haven't weighed in a while. This Saturday is weigh in day. |

I hope your tongue dosn't get too sore. haha 194 today. Instead of a walk I mulched all the leaves in the yard with the mower. I worked up a good sweat yesterday but today it will be a nice walk. The kids have only half a day of school so I will have lots of company for the afternoon. I'd better go for my nice quiet walk now before they arrive. I need to clean my fridge out today to see what we have, what needs to be used and what I need to buy. Like I said before, being prepared is half the battle. I need to try your laughing cow cheese. Not sure I've ever even seen it. I'll look today. |

Woke up to a blanket of snow today. I am not a fan of winter. I hate cold weather and bad roads but I have to say it is absolutely gorgeous out there......a winter wonderland. There was also some hoare frost and so the trees are all heavily coated in white.
Last night was okay. The food was not that great....I have a favourite Vietnamese restaurant that is so yummy but not this one. I am not going to weigh this morning because at the most I think there may be some salt weight so I will wait until tomorrow.
Connie your son is so lucky to have such an energetic Mum over to his house doing all that heavy work....now that surely must count as some serious exercise. Sounds like an extreme make over.
I am suppose to be going to a birthday luncheon on Thursday.....I just simply don't feel like eating out again tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone! |

I'm going out to dinner tonight. A steak place. A ribeye, baked potato and salad. I'm a ranch dressing snob. I only like homemade. So I'll take some dry mix and sprinkle it on my salad with some olive oil. Anyway, I'm eating lightly today because of the feast tonight.
I miss snow. I hate brutal cold and bad roads, but I do love some snow. The temps here rarely get cold enough.
I made the new chicken recipe last night. It was good. I'll post it later. The rice side dish was just ok, but one I'll make again, so I'll post it as well too.

Back from the doctor. What a mess. She said we had to be there at 1:00, but we were supposed to be there at 11:00, so we had to wait while they fit us in. She is having trouble setting up her appointments. She missed one on Monday. I don't know how far I can go to push her into letting me take them over. It is frustrating for her and me both.
Anniversary Chicken
2 Tblsp vegetable oil 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts (I used 8 chicken thighs) 1/2 terriyaki basting sauce (I couldn't find one without sugar, it is minimal in recipe, I used it) 1/2 c ranch dressing 1 c shredded cheddar (I used 2%) 3 green onions, chopped 1/2 can (3 oz) bacon bits (I used the ones in resalable pouch, only used 1/2 the pouch) 1 Tblsp chopped parsley for garnish
Preheat oven to 350. In a large skillet, heat oil over med high heat. Add chicken breast and saute 4 to 5 min on each side, until lightly browned.
Place browned chicken in a 9 by 13 baking dish. Brush with terriyaki sauce, then spoon on ranch dressing. Sprinkle with cheese, green onions and bacon bits.
Bake for 25-35 min, or until chicken is no longer pink and juices run clear
Rice and Cheese Cassarole
2 c cooked rice 8 oz sour cream (I used light) 1 (4 oz) can chopped green chilies, undrained 1 c shredded monterey jack cheese (I used pepper jack)
Combine first 3 ingredients in a large bowl. Pour into a large cassarole and top with shredded cheese. Bake uncovered 25 min.
I prepared both of these on the same night. I put the chicken in the oven, then began putting the rice recipe together. That gave the chicken 5 min more cooking time. |

Hmmmm....who would have thought to put teriyaki and ranch together.....but you really liked it right? I think I will try it. Actually the rice sounds good but it wasn't great, eh? I would suggest with the rice to cook it with flavours so that the end product is more flavorable. I like rice cooked with chicken broth, some lemon juice, some cilantro a bit of dried chili flakes....very yummy and especially good using brown basmati.
Did you say you had to go to the Dr. today......are you okay!!! |

I took mother in law to dr.
I am so full...I could bust! I ate 3/4 of my 8 oz ribeye, a whole baked potato w/ 3 sm containers of sour cream and a salad with raisins. Plus 1 1/2 cups of coffee with cream. It was so good. I skipped dessert, like a good girl, but my very overweight diabetic neighbor had some. Anyway, it was a great meal. I may not weigh in tomorrow. I probably will. I've been walking around the house doing stuff waiting for my belly to go down. If I ate out every night, there would be a big problem. I just hope I can sleep tonight after the coffee. It was not to be missed though. I kept saying "mmmmmm" out loud. That and "this is so good." People were staring at me like I was starving or something. But I couldn't help it. It was good, and someone was putting it in front of me and they were going to do all the dishes too. I was one happy camper!
I liked the rice, but my son thought it was boring. I tend to like boring foods. It needs more spice to make it yummy. The chicken was good. The title "Anniversary Chicken" gave me hope it would be special, tasty, and it was. I would never have thought to combine those ingredients. But it works well. I thought it would be good for little ones because of the bacon. It really is tasty.
I served it with sauteed mushrooms and red onion.
What a day! It has been busy. Tomorrow we are supposed to have rain and I plan on taking it easy. I'm typing that while I'm thinking of all the stuff I need to do tomorrow! I guess we never really catch up. |

Morning everyone. 153 this morning. What a relief. I thought I might have gained a lb. Last night gave me a glimpse of what Thanksgiving is going to be like...stuffedness!!!! Ha! Ha!
Debbie, I went back through your posts and saw the last time you weighed in (yesterday)it was 194. So, you are down 1 1/2 lbs. Are you disappointed? You have weighed 192.5 before...right? If that's the case, I'm assuming you want your weight loss to be more rapid. The tapping toe was a good clue! Then it's time to look closely at what you are eating and how much you are eating. This plans claims we really don't have to "diet." But, we do have to watch our portion control. We live in a culture where huge servings are the norm, but look where that has left us!
Some people chose to eat 6 or 7 tiny meals a day and lose weight. "Tiny" being the operative word here. That wouldn't fit my lifestyle. But I have found I eat much, much less than I used to and I feel completely satisfied. I think we would all be shocked at how little we can eat and still be healthy. We are just so used to overeating that it seems abnormal.
You know, when we change our eating habits, or bodies hang on to everything preparing for famine. But, if we stick to the change, our bodies find we are not starving, every need is being met, and then it starts losing. I think this transition takes longer for some than others, but it does happen. Are you feeling determined enough to wait it out?

Go back to my Sept 17th entry and see if you are doing all of these things. I had a sandwich for breakfast as a change. I'd made the salmon salad with walnuts yesterday and it was so good. Maybe you need some new foods or recipes to bring some variety into your day. |

You are so right about the portions. I am glad I do not have to count calories but I did count calories one day and it is amazing how fast they add up. I'm glad you brought that up so I could think about portions again.
I also got out the 7 keys to success that I wrote down when I read Dr. Phill's Book.
#1 Right thinking. Whatever your way of thinking, it provokes a physiological change. Self- control
#2 Healing feelings. Breaking the cycle of overeating in response to emotions andstress. Emotional- control
#3 No Fail environment. Manage your environment to make your life look different, and be different. External- control
#4 Mastery over food and impulse eating. Find and control the pay offs, unplug from those pay offs and leave behind destructive behaviors. Habit- control.
#5 High-Responce cost, High- yield Nutrition. Powerful nutritional balance. In our case this is achieved with NS/ NF foods. Food- control.
#6 Intentional Exercise. Balanced approach to simple strength-building and heart conditioning exercise. Body- control.
#7 Circle of Support. Surrounding yourself with a group of like-minded people who want me to succeed. Social- control. ( that's us!)
Using these keys, I thought we could start up a discussion one point at a time.
Number one is all about positive thinking which I find myself bashing myself for being in the position I am now (being over weight)insteading of celebrating what I am doing about it. Being middle-aged and over weight is NOT a good combination. I would like to spend my middle-aged years looking and feeling as good as I can. I am not 20 and I never will be again. I want to be able to embrase my age and not loath it. I can only do that by making forward positive changes. Its easy to slip back to the negative thinking but remaining positive is so important. I need to love myself which can be hard sometimes.

I stepped on the scale a few more times this morning before I tucked it away. It read 152, then 151. Well, I had suspected my scales was faulty. It's ancient. So I bought one at walmart today. I weighed on it and it read 155.8. Of course by the time I weighed I had already had 2 cups of coffee and some water. But still, I'm sure it is much more accurate than my old one. In the past 12 days I have lost 4.5 lbs. I am hoping for 5 by my two week weigh in on Saturday. In these 12 days I have veered from the program on 3 occasions (veering meaning not gone off but just a little off).
I have a lot of stress in my life right now and typically that leads to lots of eating.....I don't think it will affect me that way this time, I hope not! The economic down turn has hit us really hard. My husband was involved in a high end project....this was to have been an ongoing 20 year program (he was the in house designer and project manager)......the whole operation was shut down yesterday and everyone given severance. My son's girlfriend is facing some really serious health issues and then of course there is my Mum. Also my youngest son was suppose to start university in January.....meaning I would have 3 children in university. I just don't know how we can manage that now. I want to deal with these things in a different manner than I have previously.......not consuming tons of chocolate to deal with the stress. I am committed to not bring any chocolate into my house. Gee life can just be so tough sometimes......and when it rains it pours, eh!!!!

Ok, that really is depressing. My house went through that same kind of scenario before. But my husband was employable, so it all worked out. Deep breath. Time for the family to pull together. How is the student loan situation in Canada? That's how my husband and I got through it. We paid on them for several years, but it can be done.
I'm glad to hear your committed to staying NFNS through this. Not doing so would only add to your misery. I hope your husband is feeling ok. I know their ego's are often tied up in their employment. You have your work cut out for you there. Hang in there.

Connie my husband is employable in that he is very good at what he does and has lots of really good significant experience. He is talented in many areas......but he is also 54 and his talents tend to work better in a good economy, so yeah I am nervous. I think that 54 is a hard time to be basically starting over. We had intended to sell our house as it is so much more than we need at this point in our lives. We had thought about it the last year or two but we weren't really in a rush at that point. Our house had been valued at just over 2 million a year ago and today we couldn't even sell it as the market it so soft. I wish we had jumped on the selling earlier and there would be less stress at this point. We are always just off the mark with hitting the market at the right time....geesh, bad timing, eh!!!!
Anyways this blog is about weight and I am actually down and feeling like I can keep going. Debbie M......I think what Connie was saying is significant. If I understood it right she was saying you are disappointed in your weight loss when in fact you have lost but it may not seem like it because weight fluctuates up and down. Overall you have had a really good weight loss. I know from first hand experience how much better it feels to be 191 or 192 instead of 205.............WOW, really you have done so well and this program is all about patience. I wish I had appreciated the low 190's more and not got discouraged and let that discouragement take me back to 205. Of course you want to lose more and you will but it may take time....and loads of patience. My weight bounced up and down a 1 or 2 for a long time......I would lose a couple and feel like I wasn't going anywhere and "fall into bad habits" and lo and behold gain the 2 back and feel like see I am not going anywhere and give up. The truth was I wasn't going anywhere......but up and down. I am trying to get out of that mode now. In order to do that I know I will have to accept that there will be stalls and when I stall in my weight loss I have to keep doing the program and eventually the scales will start to go down again. Anyways Debbie enjoy the low 90's and keep with the program and you will soon be into the 80's and the whole process will start again....where you get tired of being low 80's and anxious to get into the 70's.....WOW exciting, eh!!!! |
Debbie M.
| posted 6-Nov-2008 4:18pm
Yes, It is very exciting. And you are right behind me and will be in 190's before you know it. You girls are all so supportive and I appriciate the boost. I know I have to hurry up and be patient. lol It will be awesome to see a new low number though. I road my bike today and got lost in a beautiful subdivision with really expensive houses. There were hills so I got a terrific work out. I finally figured out where I was and road back thru an area that had corn fields and farms with horses, alpacas and donkeys. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing the leaves around and it seemed like no one was around. I suppose they were all at work to pay for those expensive houses. I wonder Bronwyn what your house would go for in my neck of the world. 2 million, thats a really really fabulous house around here. Mine is only worth 150,000 and I think its a pretty nice house. But this same house would sell for 800,000 in California. The differences in markets are interesting. |

Debbie M. that sounds like such a fabulous bike ride.....it is snowy, wet and sloppy here today. Debbie you are absolutely right about housing markets being different.....the cost of property alone here is bizarre. I am on an acreage. We had 20 acres and subdivided into 4 acre parcels. We did that way before the property here went really high.....so lost out on that (geesh, I told you we are always just off the mark with these things). Anyways in my area 4 acre pieces of property (before the down turn just a few weeks ago) were selling for 500,000 to 750,000 for the property alone...nothing on it (this is not what we got.....remember we sold before those inflated high prices). It is just insane.....really insane!!! I think that is why the economy is in such a mess.....the falsely inflated prices of things. It is such a false market. I don't know what determines these things. My husband's family lives in another province where housing prices are so much more reasonable. I am in the middle of oil country and that may be the problem, I really don't know exactly how it works. I would love to have your lovely $150,000. home.....I think that makes so much more sense. The market is totally different here than where you are......and who knows what will happen in the future in the housing market. I have friends that live in Calgary who live in very modest homes, very small city lots, the homes small and nothing special that (again before the fall in the markets.....I just don't think anything is selling now)would have sold for about half a million dollars.....insane, eh!!!!! We had actually thought of selling our house (again before the downturn) and moving to Manitoba where my husband's family lives. WE thought that was a great retirement plan....sell here where housing is ridiculous and move to a place where we could live so much cheaper together with a big amount of money for our future. With all of that being said ,,,,,my house is a very custom house because my husband designed it and did all the work in it including most of the furniture. We could have never have afforded to build this house if my husband wasn't very talented in this kind of thing. |

So....I guess that make me ya'lls po relation!
We got such a late start in life, in regards to making an income, we will forever be thankful for comfortable. It is a contrast to our friends with dual proffesssional incomes. I'm ok with that, but I think it bothers my husband at times. But there have been parts of my life I would never have known if I had been educated, then full time. So, I wouldn't change anything.
And Bronwyn, you would hate West Tennessee. Flat...Hot...Humid!!!!! Boring and uncomfortable. And, though the Mississippi be mighty, it is brown as dirt. There isn't any clear water around.
I'm feeling kind of yucky today...either too tired or something. That reminds me, yesterday I read an article in prevention magazine that explained why lack of sleep messes with your weight. It suppresses the hormone(?) that tells your body it is satisfied AND it increases the hormone that tells your body it's hungry. Sleep as much as you can!!!!! |

Connie it is so much easier to be comfortable in a place where house prices are more reasonable. That is what we hope to do some day as well. My son graduates this year with a degree in engineering. He said he never wants to live here because he could never afford to buy a house. The difference with us is that we have lived here for 31 years so when we first started buying homes they were much more reasonable. I have been curious about housing prices in other places and have been googling different locations. It is interesting how different the market is from one place to another. I can't imagine why the prices would vary so much......I think it is a false indication of true value. I am sorry I mentioned the cost of property here....it doesn't make us rich it just makes the cost of living higher and more stressful. |

Not to worry...I have enjoyed the conversations. Believe me, with six sisters, we have had family at all spectrum's on the economical scale. I slide right in there at the modest level. The perfect home to me is on the small side, but drop dead gorgeous! That is one of the few natural talents I think I have. I can make "homey" fabulous. I once house sat in a house that was 5000 sq ft plus. It was like sleeping in a museum. Maybe that is something you get used to. But I couldn't afford it. The attention to detail would wipe us out. We are always working on our house too. It's a work in progress, but the parts that are done, I like very much.
I like googling too. And ebay. Currently I like looking up used houseboats and campers. It's fun. My family laughs, I hate water and I've never been camping. Whatever! |

I love it that you look at campers! Remember, I am the camper here. I'm in Indiana and our nice weather will be gone in a blink. We camped our last outting for the season and it makes me sad to have to wait until May to go again. I see our camper sitting there at the side of the yard and I want to just hook it up and go. Maybe come to Canada for a get away. Wouldn't that be a hoot! My bike ride was very very nice. I just had to take advantage of the 72 degrees while I could. Then I came home to rake leaves. When the kids got off the bus I fed them and made them bag up the piles. After that I sent them to my mothers house to do her leaves. She lives 3 blocks away and has very old oak trees in her yard. Totally overwhelming in the amount of leaves they drop. The kids groaned at going but I told them if they raise their kids right, their grand kids will come and help them when they are 70. We feel like the odd people out too because of the choice for me to stay home. We actually had to aquire some credit card debt thru the years to do it but the things we go without are worth it to be here for my kids since the day the first one was born. |

I never did really rough camping.....we always went places with hot water, you know showers and flush toilets but I loved it. I was sorry when kids got too old and had summer jobs and things and we just quit going. My poor tent trailer has sat out in the field unused for ever now. I wish I would have sold it years ago when it had some value but I clung to the idea that I would take the kids a few more times.
Connie you are right about a house always being a work in progress. That is one of the reason we haven't sold our house yet is that we still have work to do. When you build your own house and work full time (my husband) getting the house done can take for ever. I don't know if we will ever have a nice yard. Developing 4 acres is both costly and tons of work. I would say that we are between a zone 2 and 3 here.....Calgary probably a zone 3 but we are closer to the mountains. Our growing season is short and I envy the idea of having all the big variety of huge old trees that you see out East. Populars and carrigana's grow best here,,,,,neither are that appealing. Of course pine trees grow too but I haven't had that much luck with them because they require so much water and I am hesitant to use excessive amounts of well water.
Anyways I would like to set the record straight....I most certainly am not wealthy not even close.....we bought land out here when it was very reasonable and things have now gone crazy (or at least they did but who knows now). Of course if we could have got our house done and sold on that crazy high market......we would have been very fortunate but I no longer see a window of opportunity for that. Okay enough about all of that.
I hate it when I don't make dinner. There wasn't any one to make dinner for tonight except myself....my Mum is in a won't eat anything mood. I have been snacking all night. Nothing really bad......no sugar but I did have some bread as I was out of the no flour products I normally use. I don't really know if this is the reason or not but I feel bloaty and gassy.....could it be the flour it was all grain bread. Maybe when you don't eat any flour for a while your system can't handle it well.
Connie I think that is interesting about sleep as well.....I sleep so poorly that I wonder if that is part of my problem? I don't think I will weigh tomorrow.....may not be a positive thing. Good luck on your new scales in the morning. |

Bronwyn, I am sure the bread has made you bloated. I went to a mexican restaurant and had the chips. I didn't know if they had flour, but I gave it a try. I was so bloated after eating them! Stay away from breads. When I face dinner alone, I usually go for a bowl of cereal. Then, maybe some cheese.
Ok, so you've completely destroyed my fantasy! For a little while I had a new wealthy gourmet cooking friend that lived near Banff. Alas and alack! The trip I had planned out in my mind was full of good food, chateau views, limos, you know...the high life! Oh well!!!!!!
The new scales are so different from my old ones. I weighed in this morning at 155.6. Good heavens...I'm back at 156! I thought I would never drop away from that number before, and now I'm right back there again. I always knew my old scales weighed a bit below what the doctor office scales read. Now I know, it's around a three lb difference. So, that means I started NFNS at 188.
Debbie, good for you for staying so active. I just rarely have days when I get up and feel the urge to be active. Then when I do, it's either working on Cy's house or ironing or something equally boring. But when my kids were little, I was like you. Kids are good for keeping you young! Then they grow up and you just want them to go away! Just kidding!
I haven't slept well the last several nights. I think it's the time change thing. It always takes me a while to adjust. I'm getting up earlier, but staying up later...ugh! When I ate out the other night, our waitress was working with only one eye open. She said the time change had caught up with her. Now it's my turn. Damn those powers that be for putting us through this twice a year.
I'm supposed to work today, but I've decided not to. So, I'm going to go see what needs to be done around here. I'm going to try and make the red pepper sauce into a red pepper dip. Laundry...the usual.
Best to all! |

Go to www.houseviewonline.com and you will see what houses are selling for in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. We have Southeast University and 2 major hospitals for the area, so that keeps our market stable. We have not seen the steep decline in housing prices that other markets have suffered. We were getting customers from Ca and Las Vegas until their markets dropped. People were retiring here in droves until it became difficult to sell homes in California. |

I have super news. I haven't had a good shopping experience in years. Today I went to Kohl's to look for jeans. Nothing makes you feel so great like a good fitting pair of jeans! I haven't been able to wear them in years accept for the kind with elastic. (gag) Lately it's been stretchy pants and sweats. (remember my apple body?)I saw much bigger girls than me wearing real jeans so I was determined to try on everything in the store until I found a pair that fit and did not have elastic. I never tried on petets before today. But that was the trick! They fit AND they were a size smaller than usual. I never thought of petets because I am 5'5" but I guess with the low rise styles they have these days it's what I need. Not the really low rise but lower that right at the waist. I'm in 16P now and very happy with my new Lee's and Levis's. Happy girl walking here, and out of 18W. 205/192/150 |

Yea Debbie!!!!! I am was so were you were...nothing fit. It was my thighs that always did me in. Anyway, the last pair of jeans I had bought before NFNS came from Lane Bryant. And then I grew out of them. Such good news for you! Now I can buy my jeans from walmart, and you can too. They have lot's of petite sizes. And you can't beat the prices. Since I am wearing jeans again, I've been shopping for shirts on line. I have bought many from Soft Surroundings. I shop the sale section and usually spend around $20 a shirt. Of course, the selection is limited, but it is so easy to find something to go with jeans. The fabric and quality is really nice. I have also bought some shirts on line at Kohls.

Thanks Connie, I am really stoked. I just wore my new Levis out to get my puppy from the groomer and I felt terrific. Such a much better feeling than the bloated feeling I get from over eating or eating s and f. My thighs really arent the problem with this body. I have it all up front stomach and boobs. I wear a 1 X in shirts. XL's are ok sometimes if its generous its ok but still snug. When I was thin I wore a Medium and a 10 in pants. Maybe someday I will again. At least a large. But for now I am feeling good about my 13 pound loss and am on a roll. I got through Halloween with all the @#%$ candy laying around. Now for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Connie, Lets take a trip to see Bronwyn up in Canada. I'll wear my new jeans and pull the camper. LOL
Bronwyn, I'm so happy you are getting in the groove. Sometimes it just takes the right timing for things to click. Feel like company?

Good for you Debbie being in jeans...... I don't like the stretch jeans or elastic waists either....I just wear regular jeans that fit (38/32....yuck!!!) I am glad to find pants that fit that aren't plus or woman's because I never find that those fit well....and they are always short. I am short waisted and I don't have a really long rise so I find that petite fits well too except they are way too short......they would work better as 3/4 length pants.
We are having friends over tonight.....just very casual. I would love Connie to run over and help me tidy up....you sound like such a fabulously organized and tidy person....I love to cook and hate to clean.
My goal tomorrow was to be down 5 lbs. in 2 weeks.....I think it will only be 4 maybe 4.5.....we will see!!!! |

The jeans I am wearing are 12 Petite Alfred Dunner and they have them at Macy's. They have a stretch panel across the stomach and I really like them. I always hated Alfred Dunner clothes. I would not put my 82 yr old mother in most of them. They are designed for 90 yr old women, I think. But these jeans look nice and no iron. The pants I love are Worthington short, and I found them in a different brand last weekend at a Belk's Dept store in Ms. The style is Whitney and the brand is Kim Rogers Signature. They are polyester rayon and spandex, so no iron. I hang them up to air dry after washing. Zip front no pockets. Bought a 14 short in this brand. I am wearing some medium and some large tops. Tomorrow morning is my weigh in day. I am going to some church holiday bazaars early in the morning. |

Hilda, your going to have to catch me up. What did you weigh when you started? Then, you were on maintenance for awhile, now your in the losing mode again...yes?
I couldn't go back to sleep...darn! My butt will be dragging about the time I need to get dinner. I'll have to be careful, it would be easy to slide into less than optimal food choices...or too much food. My determination is linked to my energy level. Husband deserves a nice home cooked meal.
I bought a pair of fleece pj"s at walmart. Size large. It has been FOREVER since I bought something other than extra large. And even then, it was almost always too tight in the thighs to make it comfortable, so I usually ended up buying a gown. But this size large fits really well. Slightly baggy even. I am warm as toast and completely comfortable. This makes me very happy.
It went down to the 30's last night. Gas fireplace is on and all is cozy. I've got my super creamy coffee and a dog curled up beside me. Life is good. |

Okay seriously....WHAT THE HECK..... is going on here. I expected to weigh in at 203 maybe 203.5 and instead the scales said 206. This is where I get so discouraged. We had friends over last night and I stuck with NFNS...I didn't have the bread nor the dessert. I also only drank water. I made the food so I know what was in it. The only possible deviance was my friend brought a salad and the dressing probably had a little sugar in it. This kind of thing makes me so mad and crazy. I had no problem watching them eat the cheesy bread and the yummy dessert I had made and not eaten.....no problem. The problem is why did I gain weight?
One of my friends is probably 5'4 or 5'5 and probably weighed 135-140. She decided she wanted to drop weight and between June and Sept. she started eating mostly vegetarian and running an hour a day and she dropped 40 lbs. I had not even thought of her as someone who needed to lose weight......and she lost 40 lbs. and very quickly. She is so tiny.....teeny!!!! Oh my gosh.....she can wear anything and feel so cute and great in it. I also just realized that she is someone I have kind avoided recently and that everything she said and did annoyed me.......I am just jealous.....I just realized it. Anyways I am surrounded by friends who are thin and it doesn't seem that they even really try.
Hilda what is your total weight loss?

It just depends on a persons metabolism. My Dad and brother are over 6 foot tall and weight about 140 soaking wet. Then there is me and my Mom, short and stout. Some have to watch it and some don't. Don't feel bad about being jealous. I'm sure their are things about you that are envious. The scale is going to jump around, its probably water retention. Remember your cycle. Just keep on............. We were in the 70's yeasterday and today its in the 30's. I'm afraid we are out of good weather now until spring.

Hang in there Bronwyn. It is absolutely your metabolism. Remember, yours is fried from over dieting. And then there are the normal fluctuations. It is just a number one day on a program that will have many days. It will all iron itself out in the end. Be happy you made it through dinner without cheating! Another test you passed with flying colors. Long term is key. I want to know what your weight is 4 months into it. I know you do too, so be strong. You can do this. When your body adjusts, it will start melting away.
How nice of you to prepare food that you can't eat. I guess I would do that for company too, but otherwise, I'm sticking to the plan.

Ok folks..I want to report on my roasted red pepper dip. I took Bronwyn's original idea and tried to lighten it up. I plan on eating more of it as a "dip" than I would as a "sauce," so I changed some of the ingredients.
4 lrg roasted red peppers 4 garlic cloves, minced 2 slices white onion, chopped 3 Tblsp olive oil 12 oz cottage cheese, 2% salt, pepper, garlic powder to taste Roast red peppers. Sweat in plastic bag for 30 min. Skin and seed. Chop into 1 inch pieces. In a large skillet, cook onion, garlic and peppers in olive oil for 10 min. While they cook, strain cottage cheese as best you can. I put it in a small colander and pressed a cereal bowl onto it.
Put veggies in food processor, pulse until smooth. Add cottage cheese, pulse until smooth. Add spices, pulse until blended.
The cottage cheese isn't as creamy as the cream cheese would be, but it is much, much lower in fat and calories. And it's healthy too! I've already finished off 2 rice cakes with it. Next I'll be trying it with corn chips. And I could serve it over veggies also. |

Update...I've been nibbling on my dip and it seemed something was missing. The dip seemed too sweet. So I added 1/2 c shredded parmesan. OMG! It is sooo good. I know the parmesan raises the fat and calories, but parmesan is naturally low fat and it really made a difference. |

Well, I ate so much dip I skipped dinner. No one was interested in a meal so we all did our own thing. I managed to accomplish a few things. I put up the summer bedding and got the down comforter out. I hope it stays cool or we'll be roasting! I rarely have any heat on in my room, so my comforter is a heavy one.
How ya doing Bronwyn? I hope you were able to stay NFNS today. Your already making headway, despite the weigh in. I went back to the beginning of my posting and charted my progress, day by day as I had it listed. It was very interesting to see. There were a few times when I gained 2 lbs, within 24 hrs. Still, slowly but surely, the weight went down.
This time change is a pain. We watched a movie this afternoon and it just seemed so late when we finished it. It was 6:30! Pitch black outside and everybody is tired. I think we are just going to go to bed extremely early since we wake up so early. Not a bad plan. I guess we are just getting old!
Monday will be my 15th week on the program. I can't imagine eating any other way. |

Hey Connie I did hang in here today....NFNS! I am hungry though and feel like I need something to eat or that I won't be able to sleep......not sure what. Okay I am just a little confused ....not too unusual but I can't figure out how your red pepper dip would be less calories or less fat. I didn't use any oil and only lite cream cheese.....I figured it out both ways and mine was lower in both fat and calories. I do think your cottage cheese would be just as good though and maybe with the 12 oz. of cottage cheese you would have a bigger batch. Aren't the roasted red peppers divine....mmm.mmmm. good!!! Even with the cream cheese it isn't like really creamy,,,just tasty! YOu have a lot of dips....do you eat them mostly with vegetables?
Hilda I am going to check out your movie....I love a good movie once in a while. Have you seen "Dan in Real Life",,,,,it is such a good movie. |

Really! My finished product was not nearly as creamy and much more runny than the original sauce recipe. But then I did add the parmesan. Also, it made a ton more. When I made the sauce the first time, I used a much smaller bit of cream cheese than cottage cheese.. Also, I sauteed the garlic the first time as well. It even tastes "lighter." That could be deceiving though. I'll try and look at the numbers, but it seems a pretty confusing thing to do. I don't eat a lot of dips. This one is the third one I've tried. I am always looking for something different to add to my arsenal of NFNS. Something to have on the weekends that the whole family will eat. And something healthy too.
I'm glad you were able to stick with the plan. Good for you. I ate a 2 Butterfinger snack bars. Not something I wanted to do, but I found them about 1:30 in the morning. Darn! I think they tasted really good..hard to tell when I'm half asleep!

Does anyone eat grits on this diet? I was cooking breakfast this morning and wondering if I should have them or not. The ingredients are "specially processed degerminated white corn grits, salt, calcium carbonate, reduced iron, niacin, BHT and citric acid, thaimin mononitrate, riboflavin, and folic acid." I did make the cornbread the other night. Here is the recipe: No Flour Cornbread Cast Iron Skillet (or a round cake pan-which is what I used) 2 Tbs. Canola or olive oil 2 c. Corn Meal 1 tsp. Baking Soda 1 tsp. Salt 2 Eggs 2 c. Buttermilk Step1 Preheat oven to 450. Pour oil into 12 inch cast iron skillet (or cake pan). In a mixer bowl, combine and blend baking soda, salt and cornmeal (you dont want to find lumps of baking soda in the finished cornbread). Beat in eggs and buttermilk, pour oil into skillet then pour batter into skillet. The oil comes up around the edges, making a delicious crust. Bake at 450 degrees F. for 20 minutes until edges are crisp and top isgolden brown. Cut into 8 wedges.
This was very good, especially with the turkey chili I had made earlier in the week. Of course you could make this cornbread even better (and more fattening!) by adding grated cheese, creamed corn, or bits of cooked bacon. Can you tell I am from the south?!!
One thing I crave is treats from Starbucks. I started chilling my leftover coffee. Last week I put it in the blender along with some ice, splenda, cocoa powder, and half-and-half. I made a nice mocha frap. You could also add sugar free chocolate ice cream, bits of baker's chocolate or cinnamon-yum!
I have been on this diet for three weeks now (I think). I have lost a few pounds but hope that starting to exercise again will boost my metabolism. I have an eliptical machine in my family room and it has been calling my name. Best wishes to everyone on the diet this week! -Julia |

Go Julia! My sister has an eliptical machine as well. I've heard it is a better work out than a treadmill.
Bronwyn, this an been such an experience for me, trying to figure out the food counts of my dip. I've never done it before. But here is what I came up with;
calories fat grams 4 lrg red bell peppers 177.2 1.2 garlic 18. 0 cottage cheese 270. 7.5 olive oil 360. 42. parmesan cheese 250. 21.
I think my dip yielded 3 cups equaling per ounce 44.79 2.98
I compared my dip to Kraft onion dip; calories per ounce 60 fat grams per ounce 4.5
I think the olive oil added both a lot of calories and fat, so I will drop that down to maybe 1 1/2 TBL to 2 Tbl next time around. With my dip as it is, I really need to watch how much I eat of it at one time. What a bummer! It tastes so good.
On my numbers sheet, I changed the olive oil to 2 Tbl and the parmesan to 2 ounces. New totals;
calories per once 37.7 fat grams per ounce 2.11
Sounds much healthier with those changes. That is absolutely all the math I can do today! Everyone here has a stomach ache. Thanks for the heads up on my dip. I was really putting it away, but it is something I should reserve for occasionally. |

BRRRR The lights came with a light sensor and another really cool feature I've never heard of before. The lights come on at dark but only half power. When they sense motion they brighten up to full power. So cool. Then they go back down to half power again after a while. I had my rings enlarged after the birth of my 4th child 8 years ago. 191 this AM. A new low for me. Thats 14 pounds. I'm thrilled but really I am still so fat. When you have 40 plus pounds to go it seems like it will take forever but I will keep trying. I just have to realize I won't ever be able to eat just any thing I want like I did for the first 25 years of my life. I am older and metabolisms change with age. I cringe as I write this but Mama told me to watch out when I was in my early 20's but I didn't believe that I could gain weight, as I never had. I can hear your frustration Debbie. Remember how long it took to gain the weight! It is probably coming off faster than it came on and stuck, but once we make up our minds we WANT IT GONE YESTERDAY, it seems to go sooo slow. You continue to head in the right direction and that's the important part. Time, time, time! I think we should all look forward to our 1 year anniversary dates. If we lost a lb a week, that would be a whopping 52 lbs. Or, if we lost slower, say maybe 30-40 lbs. Doesn't that sound wonderful? And it can really absolutely happen to us!
I never thought anyone actually had your measurements! It seemed like a male fantasy that no one could live up to! I think your younger body is just there waiting for you! You are going to be gorgeous when you lose your weight. Not that you aren't already...you know what I mean. By the way, what town do you live in?
We are heading into the time of year that keeps us indoors and maybe bored. A bad time to be watching our diets. I was thinking about setting up a card table with a puzzle. Something to do besides the usual reading, etc. I relate winter to cooking more than I do summer. But, I am going to try and remain lazy in the kitchen! That's really what is working for me...staying out of the kitchen!
Feeling better this morning. Weighed in at 153.8. I'm still trying to get used to the decimal in my weight. It seems really annoying! But, everyone else is used to it, so I guess I can too.
Frost on the ground this morning...I love it!
Bronwyn, sounds like you emptied out your pantry of evil temptations! Good for you. How is the job search for your husband going? Well, I assumed he was looking for new employment. Will this affect your mum's placement in a care facility? I hope not. It is a wonderful thing you have done...taking care of her. But, it seems to be "time" to let the professionals step in. Both for her and you. My wish for you is that you keep any guilty feelings at bay...they are harmful to you in every way possible. It is what it is.

I will have to try some of the recipes, that you have all posted! It is getting cold here in Nebraska, so I am ready for some great soups!

Debbie M, I think you will be happy at 170. I am 5 foot 4 inches and I was in a 12 petite suit at 170. I am looking forward to 170 again. I eventually would like to go lower, but that is my immediate goal. |

Hilda, 170 will be great! I wonder if I will be in a 12 at that weight. I hope so. Welcome back Cammie. You did really good for only gaining 2 pounds. I'm sure I will never have those measurments again, I was 20 then. But I can do a lot better than I'm doing now.
Bronwyn, Missing you. |

Does anyone have any pumpkin recipes? I made my mom an impossible pumpkin pie with her gluten free baking mix and it made me want something with pumpkin that was NFNS. |

I would think substituting sweetener for the sugar in any pumpin pie recipe would do the trick and then bake in ramikins instead of a pie crust. Sugar free whipped topping and you're good to go! I think I will do that for my thanksgiving dinner so I can have dessert too. Any opinions on my idea? |

hmmmmm.....I mad an entry this morning but I can't find it on here.....not sure where it went. I maintained NFNS over the week-end. My weight this morning was 204.6.....2 weeks ago it was 208, so I guess it is moving a bit. I have been up and down in the last two weeks and I had hoped to be down 5 but it is more like 3.4 .....oh well I will just keep on going.
Debbie you are so close to the 80's.....I so should be there with you already....dang those relapses
Connie my husband has been in contact with several people and he feels that there is something out there for him. I really want to get our house ready to sell but now just isn't the time to be selling our house.....soft market.
I love pumpkin I may try the above recipe. Personally I don't know if I would worry about it being skim milk,,,maybe. Usually in pumpkin pie you use some evaporated milk.....that comes in skim and may somehow make it seem a little richer.
Is Becca still doing NFNS?

Lady Di, I'm sorry, I don't know what size pack. I have never made it before and I just copy and pasted it. But I do want to try it myself. With it being 2 cups of milk I would think it would be the small box. 1.4 oz because it calls for 2 cups milk.
Yes, Bronwyn, Dang those relapses, but you know, the holidays may play a nasty trick on me and you may catch up. I hope not but none of us are immune to relapses. Heaven forbid. That missing entry thing happened to me once. Strange. |

Welcome back Cammie! So glad you are on again. I always miss people that come and go. And I wonder why they quit. Your 2 lb gain is no big deal. Your right, it could have been worse.
Bronwyn, glad to hear you kept strong all weekend. Your losing!!!!! Is it getting easier for you? Those lost pounds will be adding up more and more.
Still feel under the weather. Tonight early to bed for sure. |

Sorry to hear that you are sick Connie. I teach kindergarten, and I have had multiple students out sick over the past two weeks. I sent another one home today (he lost his breakfast on the jungle gym-poor guy). I am not sure if many of you are familiar with the Ezekial bread made by Food for Life. Well, today I went to Mother Earth (a health food store) and picked up quite a few items from the Food for Life/Ezekial line. I purchased hamburger buns, English muffins, whole grain almond cereal, and even pasta! I was so excited! Of course I am trying not to eat carbs at every meal, but I am thankful they make such products. I think I will have to make my own pasta sauce, but that's okay. My mind was going crazy thinking of all the posibilities. They also make bagels, but I thought I had quite enough, not to mention they are a little pricey (but you get what you pay for!). I wonder if they have a website, who knows what else they make. I have a student in my class who does not eat sugar or flour because of allergies. I see her mom packs homemade banana bread and other treats for her. I will try to get the recipe and post them. I hope everyone has a great week! Julia |

All this talk of pumpkin pie has me ready to have some! I found a recipe for an oatmeal/coconut crust. I love coconut, I wonder how pumpkin pie would taste on it.
1 cup rolled oats 1/2 cup flaked coconut 1/3 cup softened butter 1/4 cup brown sugar
Toast oats in shallow pan at 375 for 7 minutes until golden. Mix in coconut, butter and sugar. Press into a 9 inch pie shell.
I don't know if it can be baked. Bronwyn, what do you think?

Connie that sounds really good....a little confused about the 1/4 cup brown sugar I love coconut too!!!

Oh sorry, the question was could this shell be baked.....I don't see why not. I wonder if you mixed the ingredients in a food processor to really mix and bring together the mixture and then pressed it into a pie plate and baked it at that point instead of toasting the oats? |

oh one more thing,,,,i have mentioned a few times that my daughter-in-law is gluten intolerant. For a crust for pumpkin pie, quinoa pudding or several other things I make I will toast some nuts and chop them coarsely. I then butter a pie plate and throw some nuts into the buttered dish and toss them around to stick to the buttery surface forming a nut crust. It is really good! |

BANANA APPLE CAKE (DIABETIC)
1/4 c. oil 1 egg white 1 tsp. soda 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1 c. chopped apple 1 tbsp. liquid sweetener 1 c. flour 1/4 tsp. salt 1 c. mashed bananas 1 tsp. lemon juice
Spray 8" pan with Pam. Mix ingredients in order given. Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 minutes. Check for doneness. Top with non-fat topping.
Do you think this recipe could be adapted to a powder sweetner? Would it be equal quantity? I know aspertame does not do well when heated so I guess splenda might work. Do you think it would effect the moisture content. what about replacing the moisture part with a Tsp. apple sauce? |

Back in the day, we used to substitute apple sauce for the oil in baked goods. Also, I wonder if you could substitute oatmeal for the flour? Maybe process the oatmeal a tiny bit first. I think it would be good. And Splenda is great in baked goods, but I don't know how much you would use. Somewhere on line, or maybe in our book, it says how sweet each sweetener is. Like if it's 2x etc. This recipe sounds like something my husband would like. But what about the non fat topping...doesn't it have sugar in it? I guess we could make our own with whipping cream and Splenda. Gotta love that Splenda!!!! |

I will be eating regular sugar and flour foods at Thanksgiving. I'm baking the pies and the dressing and I'm sharing with everyone else. But, I would like to have some recipes for a Sunday dessert. Maybe I wont get in too much trouble with one day a week added calories. I will need to be careful, at least until I become more of a maintenance eater. By that I mean more calories, still NFNS. But it would be great if we posted some dessert recipes. I'm thinking I will do a pecan pie with the oatmeal/coconut crust. Yum! I always spit out the pecans anyway and just eat the custard and crust. That sounds good!
I so rarely do a dessert, I think my family will be game for just about anything. |

I hate it being dark so early. It is 9:30 and it feels so much later. The nights seem to just be dragging....and they make me hungry. I have plenty to do but I feel so NOT energetic! NFNS today!!!!
You know Connie if this is a lifestyle change then I totally think it makes sense to live life. Eating some dessert for Thanksgiving dinner is living life.....so enjoy it!!!! I think back a couple of months ago when my friends had a birthday party for me and had made a special cake which I did not touch.......3 days later I was eating stuff I shouldn't have for no reason. Here I was making a big deal by passing up my birthday cake when I was gathered together with friends for my party. I think you make the occasional exception and make it count. Enjoy it and don't make it something you do often......and don't feel guilty.
Connie you have been so good.....you aren't likely to overdo it at Thanksgiving anyways. |

I made a meal today out of Minute brown rice. Cooked one cup of the rice, added 1 can of Progresso mushroom soup, a can of drained Italian green beans and some smoked chicken from my purchase at the local Bar BQ. Added some Walmart Gluten free soy sauce and it was really quick and tasty. This colder weather makes me want "heavier" comfort food. |

I think we should see how many "legal" Thanksgiving recipes we can come up with that don't have sugar or flour but that our families will like. |

I went to an Alzheimers Support Group meeting on newest research last night and along the lines of prevention they talked about diet. We must eat more fish and vegetables and also they recommend walking. So we can also think about saving our memory as well as our body as we make right choices. |

I had an extremely hungry day yesterday. I remained NFNS but I had way too many calories. I sat on the couch and eat one corn chip after another along with a couple diet cokes. I couldn't stop. I think it was comfort eating. As a result of all the salt and extra calories the scale said 193.5 today. I'm sure some of it is temorary. After having a new low of 191 yesterday it sure does stink. I'll be better today as all the corn chips are gone. |

Last night I ate too much also. I had corn chips with laughing cow and a popcorn snack pack (smartpop) but put some melted butter on it because I thought it needed it. No veggies! Tonight I'll eat better. Sometimes those hungry days strike and if we stay NFNS, they don't do any real damage.
All I can think about is pie! I've decided to change my choice for the oatmeal/coconut crust to chess pie instead of pecan. If I did the pecan I would have to substitute the Karo syrup, which I could try to do with the Fruitsweet. It seems the same consistency. Maybe I'll try them both.
I'm trying to figure out a way I don't have to leave the house today. I really need to clean. I think I have some kind of a sinus thing now. Very mild, but making me feel off. I can't take anything that raises my heart rate, so I need to get to the store. But not today. I'm taking Airborne.
Rainy day here. Time to make some soups. Hilda, your recipe sounds good. My son loves soy sauce. We do not eat much smoked meat. My husband bought a smoker 25 years ago, and we have had way too much of it! But I could add regular cooked chicken. |

Make yourself some sugar free chocolate pudding to get your mind off the pie. Maybe add some walnuts to it. What kind of Cool Whip can we have? The pumpkin recipe I found uses sugar free pudding 6 serving size, canned pumpkin and cool whip. I'll have to go back and find the recipe again. Didn't write it down yet. |

We all seemed to be on the same page with eating too many calories albeit NFNS last night. Maybe I am part bear....I want to eat and sleep
Connie maybe you could focus on other parts of the Thanksgiving menu at this point,,,,you know what vegetable dishes you want to do and salads and so forth and then start to focus on the dessert part closer to Thanksgiving.
Debbie I was eating corn chips last night as well.......geesh!!!
I had some Ezekial cereal today. It tasted good I had got kind of tired of it so I hadn't had it for a while.....it was appealing again today.
Just wondering ...... I know we had this conversation a while back but are we any better off to have a chemical pudding like Cool Whip than just a dollop of real cream sweetened with stevia? I think I would rather have a nice yoghurt than cool whip. ......just a thought! |

I was interested in what a chess pie was......I found it was a southern favourite. I looked at some recipes and this one had great reviews,,,,, IS THIS THE KIND OF PIE YOU REFER TO,,,,,,
* 1/2 cup butter * 2 cups white sugar * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 4 eggs * 1 tablespoon cornmeal * 1/4 cup evaporated milk * 1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar * 1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
Hmmmmm.....it sounds so rich but plain......the reviews raved about the fabulous taste and texture though.
