Even prior to it being a life threatening problem though it could also save you from having to have surgery by early detection of polyps.

I hadn't read all of the posts before I posted. Hilda that is such a horrible thing about the triplet Mum. Why does this happen so often. Drew Peterson has never admitted to killing his wife and I understand he is in another relationship.....he may have (they suspect for sure) that he killed 2 of his wives. So your sister would know the Jacque Waller quite well. It sounds like she was an incredible woman and a wonderful mother. After Casey Anthony you have to wonder if the court system will ever find killers guilty. |

Take pictures of everyone who comes and make a photo album for your parents, putting in the names of the guests. They will look at it often and as they age they will not remember names as well. My parents really enjoyed the one we made for their 60th. Do a photo display/collage of their lives. People love to see pictures. Maybe the guests can email favorite stories for you to print up. Get her a fancy dress to wear. |

We sent out return envelopes with a paper in it for them to write in memories of our parents in it and then complied it into a binder we gave them on their 50th. Some people added in pictures and things like that which we put in the binder. One of my sister-in-laws had made one of those memory style binders.....you know the binder itself.....and then we put all the letters and pics in it. |

I'm taking a break from the porch. I also decided to get a screwdriver and take all the storm windows and screens down and wash all the windows inside and out. They look AMAZING! Two more windows to go, then bleaching the beadboard ceiling and washing the furniture. Maybe I'll be done by the weekend. It all looks so much better, but now it seems obvious that we need to paint. It needed to be cleaned before we painted so no biggie there.
Hilda, so glad to hear from you. Yep, get that colonoscopy.

I think I will eat a can of cut green beans every day with just pepper on them. That really filled me up at dinner. I had turkey and a baked potato too. I bought some green beans on sale. I am making some kidney bean salad one day this week with eggs and pickle relish in it. I think Paula Deen has a good recipe.
I got a new wig- Eva Gabor's Gala. I love wearing wigs. Did anybody else ever get one. My hair is long in a ponytail when I take it off to go to the pool. I have to wear a hat because my hair is thinning on top and I got sunburned on my scalp the first time I went this year. If you have thinning hair, don't wait- go get a wig.You will look and feel years younger. My sister got one. She said every woman she knew who looked good in her 60's- she found out they were wearing a wig. Do not get a real hair wig. You do not have to do a thing to the synthetic ones. I would not even think of having to roll one. Even after you wash it, it goes right back to how it looked at first. Wonderful! |

We have restrictions for teens with their drivers license. Provisional Driving Restrictions—You must be accompanied and supervised by a licensed parent, guardian or other licensed driver 25 years of age or older or a licensed or certified driving instructor when you: •Transport passengers under 20 years of age at any time, for the first twelve months. •Drive between 11 pm and 5 am for the first twelve months.
As a parent I like these rules, especially when I think about how irresponsible I was at times as a teen. They do have some exceptions with notes from employers, schools, etc.
I hope I can be a reasonable parent while she is driving me around. I really don't want to make her nervous. Any suggestions.

Feeling very low today. I need some time off.(already!) I'm not used to working and its catching up with me. I will be glad when training is over. I feel sorry for full time working moms. Maybe I would get used to it. I don't know. But I am looking forward to the part-time hours I applied for. Feelings of past depression felt like they were creeping in last night and today. I know enough about depression for it to scare me. I want to fight it. I am fighting it by telling myself this stress is temporary. I'm hoping its temporary. I have a lot more on me than I am used to. Please pray for me. I do have off tomorrow but tomorrow is son's 18th birthday and oldest daughter will be trying out for the golf team. So it will be full steam ahead again.
Sorry guys, I don't mean to whine but I need to vent a bit. |

Hang in there Debbie. I think your symptoms are temporary while you go through training. Your torn between home and work. It is absolutely understandable. I would be the same way. I would love a part time job...but nothing more, and not yet. You may have to let a lot of things at home go while you are training full time. I'm talking about housework and things like that. See if the fam can help out a little more. When you get through training you will find the right balance and once the paychecks come in, you'll be so much happier! Pamper yourself today every chance you get while you run around with your kids.

Now I'm washing my work clothes and baking my son's cake for tomorrow. Then work from 2:30 to 11. I had some prayer time and I feel a lot better. AJ- Very simple, no sugar, no flour. If it has the word flour in the ingredients, it is not part of your meal. Eat your fruit between meals. I eat a Granny Smith apple every day. Lots of vegetables. Ezekiel bread and Triscuits are allowed. Count your calories on myfitnesspal.com by recording what you eat and your water intake. Whole almonds fill you up if you are hungry. Sugar free jello and pudding are allowed. Have you read all of our posts? |

Just stay away from flour and food with sugar added to the food. It sure sounds simple. Why do you track calories and whats your count for the day. Do you count carbs too? I wander if 5 small meals is better then 3 main ones? Breakfast, 10 oclock snack ,1230 lunch, 3oclock snack and 6oclock dinner and ,830 snack would be a day of 5 small meals a day. I believe you would have to plan ahead each day to stay on track. Also have food always available so your not tempted to eat junk foods. What do you think? Hilda. Is a way to stay on track 5 meals a day small ones that is. |

I do 3 meals with the fruit between meals. Sometimes I do have the banana at breakfast. I like to have a rice cake once in a while. I started at 194 and I am at 168 now. I like the frozen salmon steaks from Walmart, veggie burgers, chicken and turkey, pork tenderloin, for my meat. Only one slice of Ezekiel bread a day, and I rarely have it.One egg a week is recommended, and I tend to go over that. I like hard boiled aggs for a snack if I am hungry. I each one ounce of cheese most every day. I love Aldi's frozen asparagus spears and frozen blueberries, and Havarti with dill cheese. Portion size is important. You have to keep your calories in line and the myfitnesspal website is fun to do and keeps you accountable. If I put it in and it makes me go over my calorie count, I don't eat it. Drink your water. I live alone so my meals are very simple. My weakness is guacamole. Most restaurants tend to give you too big a serving. Avocados are $2 apiece now so I am not buying them. Ezekiel cereal is very good, but expensive. Baked sweet potato fries are wonderful. I do eat microwaved sweet potatoes about once a week. I love shredded Asiago cheese on the Ezekiel bread toasted. That is almost tastier than pizza. Hummus is excellent as a dip for raw cauliflower or carrots. I had never eaten it until I started reading these posts. I also like Lundbergs Risotto. Trying new food items is fun and buying smaller clothes is even more fun! I am no longer in the Obese category, now just overweight. |

Real Foods brand Corn Thins are good with hummus. Bird's Eye Steamers vegetables are easy to fix and low cal. A little unsweetened coconut is good added to a cheaper no flour cereal. Fress Express Romaine salad mix is easy. String cheese is a good snack, too. If I go to Ryan's I eat the collard greens, broccoli, green beans, steamed cabbage, half of a sweet potato and baked fish, or grilled pork chop or baked chicken. Burger King or Sonic Jr Hamburger(throw away the bun). Soup and salads seemed to give me a jump start. I would take a can of Progresso garden vegetable soup and divide into 4 bowls, add to each bowl 1/4 can diced tomatoes undrained, 1/4 can mixed vegetables, and 1/4 can drained and rinsed black beans.Add some pepper and heat one bowl a day for 4 days in a row or freeze for later. |

Absolutely one of the best diets for diabetics. I too am of the "all or nothing" mentality. It does no good though to give up just because of one little slip. Just get right back up and continue on. That is where long term success is achieved. THat is how BRonwyn has done it. HEr mootto is what is the next right thing to do. SHe has had wonderful results in the last 6 months by putting a limit on the calories she eats each day. SHe is losing very slowly but it adds up. nearly 30 pounds for her. GO BRONWYN! I am going to do it too. Slow like a snail. Little bits at a time. You don't think half a pound a week is much until you have done it for 6 months and suddenly you have lost 12 or 15 pounds. The time is going to go by anyway so why don't we make our time count? |

Your health is the best reason to do it. I cannot afford the medicine I would have to take if I had some medical condition. Right now I only take a diuretic for blood pressure, and eat a banana every day for that, too. Baby aspirin once a day when I think of it. Some recommend taking 2 baby aspirins a day. I think a multivitamin is good and a calcium supplement with D. You feel so much better when you are eating right. Good news Debbie M. Yeah Bronwyn. You have done great. How are you feeling? Especially at the end of the day, sometimes I have a couple hundred calories left and I know I can have a snack. You can put in a restaurant like Panera and all the choices on their menu will come up, so you can tell what is good to order to stay in your limit.I am at 1200 now and it is okay. Not hungry. Drinking more water now that it is so hot.Cutting down on the Diet Rite sodas. No sugar, no caffeine, all chemicals. I bought my Grandessa Hummus at Aldis today. All they had was garlic, not my favorite. had to go to the Health Food store to get the Real Foods Corn Thins to spread the hummus on. It was yummy. Clancy's Sweet Potato Chips are new at our Aldi's. 17 chips is 160 calories I think. I only ate a half serving. You lose twice as much when you record. Girls, what are you waiting for? It only takes a couple of minutes. |

If its gone to work I have to be more disciplined. I have to want to feel better more then the food I really dont need. Also, remember Iam out of control when it comes to junk foods and some that is good for me. So I am taking small steps to a normal healthy weight. I have to quit that night eating we really dont need itif we eat a good dinner. Unless you are diabetic or something like that. Elizabeth Hasselbeck has a new gluten free bar that was on Hip2Save yesterday. You could sign up to get a free one. My daughter also checks that website everyday. She does a lot of couponing. |

Does anyone have an NFNS recipe for biscuits? Is it possible? Wanted to make them for a family gathering and thought if there was a good NFNS recipe, I'd try that instead of the usual ones, which I can't eat.

We don't have one for biscuits, but you can make NFNS cornbread. |

I know what I need for the next 10 days. I need a focus. A distraction. Some goals. I think of course I will try to stick to my healthful diet and try to lose some more weight. AND I will focus, at the same time, on a couple of house projects. My desk is a mess and my bedroom needs some attention. If I can focus on those things besides getting the kids ready for school and running oldest girl to golf and middle girl to basketball camp and working, I will keep busy and not have much time to be mad at him for leaving. He will make extra money going so that is a plus. I got my first pay check yesterday! Just in time for school supplies and such. YES! I got to fill my gas tank for the first time in a while. $108.02 to fill it.(Its a full size fan) Can you believe that? Enough whinning, sorry.............
Must grocery shop and plan, plan, plan, that is the key to success.

I know it is hard for you when he is gone, but you will do well. When do the kids go back to school? How much is gas in your neck of the woods? I would say the average here is $3.65. |

$3.89 yesterday, a little less today, plus the van has a very large tank. Yes, I will do OK, I just hate it and get mad. The kids go back the 25th of Aug so he will be back by then. Change of season (school in and out)is never an easy time for me. |

You'll do fine Debbie! Believe me, he will hate being gone that long as much as you will hate him being gone.
Our central air went out yesterday. It's Sunday, so we can't do anything till tomorrow. I'm staying in my son's upstairs "attic" room which has a window unit, but it's not doing so good. It's ancient. When it rains, it pours. |

Connie, check to see if the drain is clogged and the outside unit is clean. It may just need freon. |

Husband checked everything. The compressor is shot. It has been working it's fanny off. Tomorrow he'll find out if he can replace the compressor, or if we need a whole new unit or whatever. Believe me, he keeps the details to himself...he's funny that way. |

If anybody wants to view my myfitnesspal diary my name is 67Brandy. Maybe it will keep me motivated if I know someone is looking. Today I had soup for lunch and salad and rice mix with peas and carrots for dinner. I still have calories left. I did not record yesterday as it was a wedding shower day for my daughter and I ate sugar and paid for it with miserable excess gas. My body did not know what to make of the punch and candy. I had gained 1.5 pounds this morning. Now it may take me a week to get back to where I was. The new mother in law was the hostess and she had fixed so much food. I did not eat any bread or cake, but tried too many dips and edible arrangement fruit dipped in chocolate. I thought my stomach was going to explode. |

Hilda, I noticed too that sugar and flour produce a lot of gas. When one is sn/nf gas is completely gone. Its amazing and so much more comfortable without the bloat. We had a super sweet cantalope today that was as big as your head. |

Hilda, I have been there and done that! It is amazing the reaction we have to f&s when we have been away from it for awhile. It tells us so much.
Husband figure's a new central air unit will run about 1000. Dad gum! So he's going to tackle that today. We need new inside and outside parts. I am off to Sears to buy a new window unit for upstairs because the one we have is a great big huge piece of *!%#! OMG, that thing should have been buried a long time ago. By about 2 am this morning I was telling him it had to go!!!! It makes noise, it blows out air, it just doesn't cool. Yesterday it was like 103.
The last time I weighed it was 155.4. I little itty bitty step in the right direction. Later ladies, and great day all. |

I've been enjoying black beans in my home made salsa. Left over salsa goes really well as a topping for chicken. Its low in calories and adds moisture. |

Speaking of black beans.....did I say this previously: I like to roast a yam (whole in it's skin) in the oven until it is all sweet and soft. I take it out of the skin and slice it on a plate and top with black beans warmed in a spicy salsa, top with a little grated cheese, chopped avocado, diced tomato, chopped green onions, a little sour cream and squeeze fresh lime juice over the whole thing. You could go crazy with all sorts of things.....way yummy, filling and healthy. |

ha, ha, Debbie......hey that is such an easy meal you just roast however many yams you need for however many people are eating. I don't wrap the yams or anything.....wash, poke a couple of holes in each one, put on a cookie sheet and roast at 425 for 45 -60 minutes depending on size of yam. |

I once baked potatoes without poking any holes. They were fine until I stuck a knife in one to see if it was done and it exploded. There was potato everywhere! Its a miracle none splattered on me. I surely would have been burned. I never forget the holes now. I am going to buy yams at the end of this week. We came home to fresh garden tomatoes on the chair on our porch. Somebody blessed us fom their garden. We have not had a garden for a couple years now. Me and the kids miss it. I do not miss the weeding though. We always seemed to let the weeds win in he end. |

I once made home made root beer by putting dry ice in the bottles and capping them.......oh my word you would not believe how well that experiment went. I am lucky to have my eyes. Of course for some stupid reason every cabinet door in the kitchen had to be open to receive the contents of the burst bottles.....rootbeer and glass. The ceiling got a really good drenching. I had intended to take them to people for Halloween treats.....glad I didn't get those loaded into the car together with my 2 small children at the time. Oh the stupid things we once did, eh |

Bronwyn, I read your post and thought "lawsuit!" Where did you get that idea? I'm trying to eat well, but I'm more or less confined to bedroom with the only air conditioning. Can't cook, except with microwave. Settled on frozen chicken fried rice, not totally NFNS but that was hard to find in the frozen section. Wish we had a Trader Joe's. |

I'll be working the next 5 out of 7 days. I guess I am finishing up my training which is lasting longer than I thought. Of course we need the money but Steve is out of town and I don't like the kids to be home alone. I am also not used to relying on others to help me with my kids. Its a bit distressing but Iknow we will be ok.
Staff meeting today. I hope there isn't a bunch of junk food. I have been able to resist junk food lately but then again I have not been keeping chips and crackers in the house. Last night I felt the need to crunch so I made some popcorn in the pan with a little oil. Its so much better than microwave corn which tastes all plasticky. |

Watch the Joyce Meyer video online More Than Conquerors Part 2. Very inspiring.
I enjoyed Epcot and Sea World when my kids were little. Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disney World was fun. Not sure if it's even there. Fireworks and laser show at Epcot. This was 1983 so I'm sure it's all different.
I am really doing well at staying close to 1200 cal per day. Love myfitnesspal.com |

There was evil food at the staff meeting today. Frosted cookies and plain and peanut m&m's. I had one cookie and a few of each candy. But after that I stopped. A little lose and little win. Its way better than I would have done before. So generally? WIN! |
