Connie, you're right about the fruit. That's another food group to treat with respect. Thanks for your straight talk. You're saying what I need to hear. It seems like fear is running me and my life -- fear of failure, fear of success -- it's crazy-making if I let it.
Debbie, I tried OA many years ago (see, I told you I've done EVERYTHING except surgery - no thank you!)and the group was not a good fit so I gave up. The group I'm in now (I call them my home group) are such a warm and accepting bunch. I feel safe, which is always a plus for me. If you do try and the group doesn't click with you, try another one. Also, check the website because there's lots of great information.
Believe me, I know I'm blessed by having a great family. Whatever your situation is, remember gratitude and be thankful for what you do have.

You know I have already had my Thanksgiving.....in Canada it is 2nd Monday in October. In the States Thanksgiving is such a huge holiday and then it seems that Christmas is not quite as big of a holiday. We are more likely to have a smaller get together for Thanksgiving and bigger one for Christmas and because they are not so close together pretty much the same type of foods.....turkey and the trimmings. Personally I think next Thursday you should eat a moderate amount of the dinner and enjoy yourselves.....not feel guilty and have your favourite dishes. Maybe you could divide your dishes into 4 quarters in your minds and try to have half the plate vegetables (even if there is a small amount of flour in them) a quarter of the plate meat and the other 1/4 starch...your potatoes, dressing and so forth. Then eat very slowly and savour each bite......visiting while you eat. Rick Gallops program has you dividing your plate into quarters and eating that way all of the time....but always no sugar unless it is a special day such as Thanksgiving but with turkey I am just going to have cranberries no matter what.

Connie I laughed at the double take.....so funny. I know if I ever get one....it is such an ego booster. I would have to say with your slim size 12 jeans I am sure you look great. I remember once when I had lost a significant amount of weight (which I have unfortunately found again) I was in a store and this guy did a double take and then starting chatting with me now I had no interest in him per say...I really like my husband but it had been a long time since I felt I could turn a head that it was fun.

Elise,,,,beautiful name. You are so smart to be thinking of the importance of nutrition and weight at your age. You are never going to have deal with 40. 50. 60 lbs. to lose in the future because you are going to be on top of that issue. If I could go back to your age with the knowledge I have today ,,,,,, of how miserable it is to constantly be in a battle with weight and the emotional roller coater that involves I would so totally have never done things the way I have.

Debbie,,,,,it is time for you to get serious. I worry about you because I see you a little bit at the stage I was last winter with this program. I truly have never got back yet other than a few days at a time and therefore I haven't been successful in losing weight. It sounds like you are maybe eating more than you were (which I started to do as well) and then slipping in a few things that don't help with weight loss......and instead of even being moderate with those things eating them in a more binge style way ( a sleeve of graham crackers......and then the whole guilt thing and disappointment in yourself thing......I know the pattern all too well. How about if you do this program 100 percent.....then on Thursday eat your Thanksgiving dinner.....no guilt, no binge but just eat the dinner whatever it is you want an (not binge style,,,,normal eating)......Friday you return to no flour no sugar. You can eat the left over turkey on Ezekial or in a salad or as a meal. on corn tortillas whatever just cut out the things that don't work with the program.

Oh my gosh Connie....Covert Bailey I haven't thought of him for years......I as well had his books and I remember some circle device you turned to determine fat grams I believe. Of course it isn't strange that I had his books and so forth......my book shelves looks like the diet section at a large book store....groan!

I think the time is approaching for me to take some of my own advise.....man can I dish it out but then do it myself (oh,,,,not so well smile

The sun is shining, the snow is melting.......

Covert Bailey was the man for awhile! Then he began selling exercise equipment on tv. I had every one of his books. That was when I was running and became a vegetarian and ate zero fat and ended up anemic and never lost a lb! Granted, I only weighed about 135 at the time, but I had those blasted thighs!!!!! I really felt awful that year. But I did get some good advice that has stayed with me. I am so thankful for being able to eat this way.

thanks so much for the encouragement, everyone! :)

connie, thank you for the advice, i will definitely make sure not to eat too few calories. and yes, i have told my mom about my new diet, or should i say way of life :) however, she is somewhat skeptical about it (the no flour part). but, she is usually uncomfortable with me going on diets - she is worried that i will stunt my growth. oh and yes, she does make dinner for me. we usually have rice or pasta, along with sauteed/steamed veggies and soup. however, it's white rice and regular pasta. i think i will stick with a small serving of rice for now, and put brown rice on the shopping list for this weekend.

bronwyn, thank you! i must say, your name is beautiful as well :) your advice really encouraged me, i am so glad that i found this website!

today was my first day on the diet, and i think i did pretty well, although i cheated and ate half a bar of chocolate. i know it's no excuse, but one of the school clubs i'm in is doing a fundraiser, and every member must carry around a box of gertrude hawk chocolate to sell. i was sitting in math class right before lunchtime, and the teacher was saying something about functions and i just couldn't pay attention, so i decided that if i could treat myself to some chocolate, then i'd be able to focus my attention. however, that had the opposite effect - i ended up regretting it all day.
however, i think today was a step in the right direction for me. (i usually graze all day on junk food and gatorade.)
i am making it my goal to eat no flour/sugar at all tomorrow!
also, i'm going skating tonight, so i will hopefully burn up some of the calories from the chocolate. :)

another thing i was wondering about, what do you guys think about dried fruit? i know that fresh fruit is allowed on this diet, in moderation as you have mentioned. however, when i think of healthy snacks, the first thing that comes to mind is dried fruit, especially raisins. i love them, and could easily eat 1-2 cups of raisins a day (and frequently do). but i'm thinking that may be breaking the rule of "no sugar", because the raisins are so sweet.
Connie
posted 21-Nov-2008 6:19pm

Dried fruit is concentrated sugar. But, it is allowed. I would eat it less than fresh fruit. Maybe that could be a treat for right after you get done skating. In a limited amount. I love dried fruit and haven't had any since I started this plan. One thing I do is water down my OJ. Tastes like Tang.

Do try and get your mom to eat whole grain brown rice. There are two kinds I would recommend for making the transfer easier. One, Rice-a-roni Natures Way long grain and wild rice. This one is plain, but you can spice it up, or, mix it with some low fat cottage cheese and chopped tomato. Second, Uncle Ben's long grain and wild rice with sun dried tomato Florintine. This one has more flavor on it's own, a nice side dish. I mix this one with cottage cheese too. Both mixes come in a box, easy for fast preparation, but as Bronwyn would tell you, they have other strange ingredients. Make sure you read ingredient lists for added sugars. Most boxed rice has F or S in them.

If you ate less F&S today than you did yesterday, you did good! Every little bit helps as far as your blood sugar levels are concerned. Good luck tomorrow.

Quiet morning on the board today. I guess everyone is preparing for Thanksgiving. I keep putting my shopping off.

My sister is out of town scrapbooking, so I went on line to find a baked corn recipe. I think this one looks good;

Baked Corn

2 tblsp butter
1 1/2 tblsp flour
1 c milk
2 c canned corn, drained
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper
2 eggs, well beaten

Melt butter over low heat, add flour, mix well. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly, bring mixture to the boiling point. Add corn, sugar, salt and pepper, heat through. Remove from heat and add the beaten eggs. Pour into a greased baking dish. Bake 350 for 25 min.

In one of the reviews I read about this, the cook stated she added 1 cup corn meal for a more corn bread casserole. I will not do that, but I'm wondering if I could substitute corn meal for the flour in it. I will definitely substitute the sugar for Splenda. I will be doubling the recipe, preparing on wed to bake on thurs. The two reviews gave the flavor high marks.

Hope everyone is nice and centered!

Connie is this something you traditionally serve with a turkey dinner. I had never heard of it before but I was looking at recipes like you did and I also found ones that called for corn meal. I would think you could substitute the cornmeal for flour....i have made cornbread with out flour. Would this be more like cornbread with whole pieces of corn in it? Do you have this instead of rolls or stuffing? I am curious what you Thanksgiving menu is "down south".

I've only served this one other time, last year, when my son asked for another vegetable besides the green bean casserole. It really is good, but does not take the place of cornbread dressing, which is what I serve. It doesn't remind me of dressing at all. My grandmother, born and raised in Tennessee, passed down her cornbread dressing recipe. It is southern, but everyone makes it differently. My mother-in-law makes oyster dressing.

I'll be having deviled eggs, relish tray, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, green bean casserole, baked corn, kidney bean salad, jellied cranberry sauce, and yeast rolls.
For desserts, I'll make pecan pie, pumpkin pie, cheesecake and fudge. I'm sure I'll try some of the fudge. It's the old fashioned boiled kind and wonderful. I'll start cooking on wed, that will make it much easier. And I'm doubling almost everything so we can have leftovers. We are having 10 for dinner.

Connie that is interesting and I noticed some of those very items on a google search of a traditional southern turkey dinner. I guess what is really different is the deviled eggs and the corn bread dressing. One other thing that sounded like standard fare on google and wonderful to me as I love coconut was coconut cakes and pies.

Yum, I love coconut cake, although I have never made one. I just go for the pies. Jerry loves pecan, Gma and Holly love pumpkin. I like both ok. My fav will be the fudge and cheesecake. Cy makes the cheesecake. I plan on having a sliver, maybe, of each. It has been so long since I've ate so many different foods at once, I have no idea what it will be like! I'm sure to have much smaller serving sizes than I used to. I love dressing up the table. So pretty with my holiday placemats and napkins. I only have enough place settings for 8 so I'll have some mismatched in as well. Jerry's family teases me about it...they are paper plate and tv tray people all the way. But I just can't do it that way. Almost everything can go in the dishwasher, so no problem.

I'm hoping tomorrow I can finally get my list done. Then shop Mon morning. I took a three hour nap today (wow!) trying to catch up on some missed sleep. I'm worthless when I'm tired! If I can manage to get some sleep tonight, I'll be in good shape!

Morning all. 155 this morning. Argh!!!!! I go up and down. But I know why. Today is the first morning in about a week that I haven't woke up with a splitting headache. Feels so good. I'll try and eat better today, but since I haven't been to the store, it's a toss up.

Have any of you bought the NFNS cookbook? I just saw it on line and the reviews are really good. Most everyone thinks it's easy menus. And apparently, there's some guidance on the glycemic index too. That is something I am very interested in since one of my main objectives is to avoid diabetes. I think I am going to order it.

Big game today, TN Titans are undefeated and we will all be watching. More snack food. I'm sure! I am out of rice cakes, out of everything really. I may watch the game with a bowl of cereal. Sounds good actually!
Time to work on my grocery list. Hope everyone is well.

I reached my goal. I weighted 214 pounds years after having triplets. I now weigh 106 pound. I was on the No Flour No sugar Diet for 2 1/2 years. I also walk 30 minutes a day or swim, take pilates twice a week.

I love the No Flour No sugar diet because my doctor' said it was okay. Sometimes I would feel like eating a chocolate or candy but keep a photo of myself taped to the refrigerator and in my wallet to remind me how being overweight made me out of breath, diabetic and thryoid issues.

I'll be making the banana cookies in the No Flour No sugar cookbook for dessert today.

I lost all the weight - took me 3 years but it is worth it!

Anonymous, what a fantastic inspiring story! Please attach your name next time you post. I've always suspected the weight loss from NFNS would be gained over time. I mean the "real, body changing, off for good" weight loss. Somewhere on line I read about someone who had plateaued for an entire year, then began losing again. That is my approach to this, long term. I am thankful for the quick weight loss I have experienced so far, but I want body shape changing results. From your post, I am even more convinced exercise is needed. Without NFNS, in three years I would have gained weight rather than lost it. The picture posting is an excellent idea.

Hi gang. Where is everybody. Ok Debbie, I'm starting to worry about you too! Haven't heard from you in a couple of days...what's up? I know weekends are busy.

I made it to the store today. Sadly, TN lost the game. I did have cereal for my game snack! I went to the store and got all my Thanksgiving stuff. But I didn't even think about what we are going to eat until then! So, back to the store tomorrow. I did manage to get some rice cakes and Laughing Cow. Today I have stayed away from nuts, chips and hard cheeses. And tea. In one of the reviews for the NFNS cookbook someone mentioned an orange smoothie. Doesn't that sound great? I'm looking forward to trying one. My kids are always asking me what I want for Christmas, so I may let one of them get it for me. Patience is not my strong suit, but I guess I can wait.

All's quiet here. The calm before the storm I suppose. I hope everyone is doing well. Check in soon, ok?

I have always known my family's Thanksgiving was over the top. We have turkey breast, ribs, ham, gravy, yeast rolls, cranberry sauce or cranberry jello salad, deviled eggs, sausage dressing make with stove-top cornbread dressing as the base, broccoli rice casserole, green bean casserole, corn, fruit salad with marshmallows for the kids, spinach dip with Triscuits, hash brown casserole, mashed potatoes with cream cheese in them, sweet potatoes with marshmallow topping, seven layer salad, cherry salad with Eagle brand, lime jello salad with cottage cheese, fudge, pecan pie, mince pie, date cake, pumpkin pie with cool whip. These dishes are made by 6-8 people and we usually have lunch, hang around all afternoon, then have it all again for supper. Leftovers the next day and until it is gone or we have to throw it out. There is no way to try every dish. Everybody just makes their favorites and brings them to share. We usually have about 16-20 people. I will pick and choose things I only get at Thanksgiving and Christmas-probably the Spinach dip made with Knorr vegetable soup, the hash brown casserole with corn flake topping, and pecan pie. The rest I think I can pass up. My daughter also brings chocolate chip Toll house cookies, carrot cake, and peanut butter fudge the day after. So this is a Missouri Thanksgiving. We think we are Southern.

Hilda, wow!!!! I guess you are surrounded by family? That's nice. I really miss my family at Thanksgiving. We are too many to all get together, but when I would travel to Mi for the holiday, 3 of us would gather for the meal. Where do you all eat at? In the past, for Christmas parties, we would rent a hall. I'm unable to travel to Mi for Thanksgiving because my daughter has school on Wed. It was the same when my son attended college. And traveling for Christmas is out of the question anymore. Now we visit in the summer. But I would rather visit at Thanksgiving. There's always the chance for snow there! That is a ton of food. But why throw it out the next day? I'm doubling recipes so we can have the three day feast.

153.2 this morning. I ate so much better yesterday. Not exactly good though. I never had a vegetable. I'll make up for that today. So glad to be back in the 153's...again! This seems to be the number I dance around. I am ready to move down from it. I'm committed to staying on top of my diet until Thursday. I see a lb or two weight gain in my future, but then I have the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas to eat smart, smart, smart!!!! Christmas dinner will not be a biggie. All in all, I feel really good about my attitude towards food.

This is the beginning of week 17 for me on NFNS. I have lost 35 lbs. Right at 2 lbs a week average. But that is soon to drop. By the time I reach the 1 year mark, I'm sure I will be at 1 lb a week average, right on track with the book. Or maybe less. It is so wonderful. My new goal is to lose 43-45 lbs in my first year. I have to stick to the plan to make that happen. The best part about this is I haven't regained weight. I can't remember the last time I lost weight. And whenever that was, I gained it back. And then gained some more.

A lady my husband worked with went on South Beach and lots a significant amount of weight. She was very overweight. She gained it all back when she went off the program. She is a great lady and she was so happy with her results. I don't want to be her. I think NFNS is much easier to do than SB. I think it has staying power. But how frustrating, to diet, lose, regain. I can only conclude she felt she was missing something. Luckily, I haven't felt that.

Hope everyone is well today. Raining here, but milder temps.

Hi, I'm here. Don't worrie about me girls. I'm still committed to this program. I read the posts and have so much to say but I havent had to time to really sit down and write.

Bronwyn, I wanted to tell you your feelings about me were right on track. I also had some feelings like yours and was thinking I had lost my momentum. I was walking thru Walmart yesterday circling around the sweets. I was actually salivating and picturing myself eating donuts. I felt ravenous. As I left the area empty handed and looking for carrots I remembered I was wearing my black leather jacket and it was buttoned up. I couldn't do that last winter. I just wore it hanging open. I said to myself. Deb, you have your coat buttoned BECAUSE you have been choosing NOT to eat junk. Do you really want to give that up? The answer was NO WAY!! So I didn't buy the junk and I was pleased with myself. I have to remember the rewards to doing the program. I can't say my last couple of weeks have been perfect but I do have to really think about the perks that I have already experienced, to keep on track. I don't want to look back after the holidays with regret. Its just not worth it.

I do need to eat more veggies and salads. I think I am eating way too many carbs even though they are legal carbs. Lean meats and veggies is what I need to consentrate on.
Thanks for caring for me all.

Super menu Hilda.
Good job triplet mom.

Another thought. Do you think your weight reflects your house and how you feel about your life? I was looking around my house just now and realized my diet is reflecting how my house looks. Bronwyn you will understand what I am saying because of FlyLady. My kitchen is clean but everywhere else I look there is junk, junk, junk. (I guess my frige could stand a go thru) My kids stuff is every where. Mount Washmore is piling up and I don't know if there is one organized drawer or cupboard in the house. I think this is a direct reflection of how my diet is going. I'm so distracted by my house, its hard to concentrate on any one thing let alone myself. I know I need to engage the whole family to help me get this place in order, but no one ever wants to help. Grumble grumble. I'm kinda at the end of my rope with the messes that just seem to show up and I am tired of cleaning them up. I just stopped doing the work and now messy house equals messy mind equals messy body. Does this make any sence to anyone? I need that clean house crew from TV to come and give me a fresh start. lol But I know that is never going to happen.
Bronwyn
posted 24-Nov-2008 3:00pm

Forget the clean house crew......lets have Connie come and live with us for a week or so. Debbie my house has always had an impact on me because there are so many things here I never have control over.....like renovation projects or house finishing projects. Many things started......the assortment of things required for those projects piled here and there and then,,,,,a very slow process in actually getting the projects done and cleaned up. In the almost 30 years I have been married we have lived in 10 houses......and the majority of time in most of those houses we have been in the midst of construction or renovations.....with my husband working full time on job related projects and house projects being gotten to as time or energy permitted. We always get the houses totally finished just before selling.....and then it is the whole process again.

Debbie I thought you were mad at me and thought I had been picking on you. I just totally see some of my patterns in your experience and you have done so well I don't want you to end up discouraged and unhappy with yourself like I am so much of the time with myself over my weight. What a wonderful motivator to recognize you can do up your coat. I can't do up my coat and I can't buy a new one.....I need to be able to do my coat up.

We had been invited to an American Thanksgiving week-end at my son's girlfriends parents place in Montana. We were kind of dragging our feet on going for a couple of reasons and now I guess we have decided to go. I guess we will all be celebrating together. It is only about a 5 hour drive so it will be nice to get away.......wish I could do my coat up smile

I would love to come and stay and organize! It is one of those things I love to do. A couple of people have paid me to do it. Also, I have taken on some jobs where I refused to clean until they let me organize some first. Debbie, when I read your post this morning, the first thing I thought of is getting "ready" to organize. You need the right tools. Do you ever watch those organizing shows on tv? Their budgets allow for gorgeous organizing products, it can be done much simpler and cheaper. But trying to organize without containers, etc is a waste of time. And, usually it's past time to get rid of stuff. My neighbor will not throw anything away and you can't walk through her house. I know your not like that, but clutter kills! It can seem overwhelming, but once you get going it feels really good.

I needed a coat the other day and I tried on one I bought my daughter. It fit so now it's mine! She didn't like it even though it's a darling waist length quilted one with fur on the inside. I could not have worn it last year. Come on girls...let it happen. I am so glad to have lost weight, but I feel strange and worry I sound like I'm bragging or something.

Bronwyn, why are you hesitant to visit Montana?

No way, you do not sound like you are bragging. To me it just sounds like wonderful things to come for me and Bronwyn.
My grandmother is like your neighbor. She buys stuff every week but never throws anything out. She has a very narrow path through each of her rooms. I think its either a sickness or she is a product of her gerneration coming through the depression and rebuilding of her country after war time. Thankfully my is not that bad. I do need to tell on myself though. Last year we painted my 7 and 9 year olds bedroom. We emptied a bunch of junk into the hallway into boxes to make room to paint. They sat in the hall way for months because after putting the room back together the girls did not want to clutter up the room again with all that junk. We just moved the boxes from the hall into our bedroom because of some function and didn't want anyone to see them. So here it is a year later and I have all those stupid boxes filled with who knows what in MY bedroom. I will attack them after Thanksgiving and before Christmas 15 minutes at a time.
Bronwyn, I hope you have a wonderful time at your American Thanksgiving! Let us know what they make.

Bronwyn, read you loud and clear.

Debbie, my advice to you, not that you asked for it, is to go in whole hog and tackle the job all at one time! Make a day of it...and be done with it. Goodwill will be thankful for your donations. I'll bet most of it can be tossed. If the girls don't want to part with things, but don't want to put them back in their room, then it's time for a heavy box that can go in the attic with only special things in them. It may seem harsh, but actually it's a good lesson for them to learn young. Both of my kids have boxes with keepsakes.

My little girl, 13, got her period today for the first time! I've been telling her for a while now to expect it and when it came we would go out to eat and have a "ladies day" just the two of us. She wanted to go to the Olive Garden. I had bread sticks with my salad and when my shrimp skampi came it too had toast with it. It was soo good of course I eat it all. Now tonight I am feeling quite sick to my stomach. I ate more than 6 hours ago and I am so bloated and miserable. I think the pink stuff is in order. Be right back. I hope it helps. After I got home I felt like I couldn't get enough water. Wow, talk about regretful. I wish I had never gone there. I wish I had resisted. Lesson learned.

Connie, I am a believer in Good Will too. They have gotten a lot of donations from me over the years. I have always struggled with the garage sale delema. The one time I did a yard sale was with two other friends. I made several hundred dollars but I'm not sure if it was worth it. There was so much time and effort involved not to mention storing the stuff until its time for the sale. It definately was a lot of fun in the social aspect of it but my friends have jobs now and I don't want to do it on my own. Good Will it is. I might be able to get through the boxes in my room in a day but not the whole house. Is that what you meant?

I hope I can sleep soon. My darn cat woke me up plucking on the edge of one of those stupid boxes.

I bought 4 huge green storage bins last year after Christmas and cleaned out my bedroom and closets and made a box of keepsakes for myself and all 3 daughters. I want them each to take their storage boxes HOME to their houses! Mostly found photos and books. Tossed garbage bags full of junk and took lots of clothes to Goodwill and the Senior Center boutique. I am ready to go through drawers and closets again this year after Christmas for another round of decluttering. You feel much lighter.

Isn't that much food at Thanksgiving a sin? I really think it's unnecessary, but everyone wants their favorites once or twice a year, so they make them. Tje last time I went to Olive Garden I got sick from all the sodium. Haven't been back since. I love the Rudy Tuesday salad bar if I am eating out for a special occasion.

I too find that when I eat out that things are so salty. I really don't use any processed foods (well hardly ever) and I think that is why I find things so salty when I eat away from home. I really find places like the Olive Garden to be very rich and salty. Debbie I hope the pink stuff works.....I hate that bloated, heavy feeling and having to drink so much water all at once only compounds the problem.

The Salvation Army has a donation bin just a short distance from my house so I have no excuse for holding on to things that we don't need......but then I don't really need an excuse smile ,,,, I still hang on too long. I remember listening to a woman talk about de-junking and she said it was reprehensible to hold onto things we are not using when there are people who need things..... I try to think about that. Her point was really about keeping things for so long that they are so out of style that no one wants them. I think for yo-yo dieters (such as my previous self) it is hard to get rid of everything because you may need it again frown

By the way wasn't that an amazing story from the mother of triplets.....I would love to hear more of her story. Did she closely follow the book and it's menu's ,,,,, did she feel she needed to also count calories ..... more details would be great? If you check back I am sure we would all love to her more from you.

It is so interesting how recipes are kind of big in different areas........I have only ever had green bean casserole when I have eaten at relatives and friends in the States homes..... never here....funny, eh!!!! Another thing I have never had here or heard any one talk about is tater tot casserole.

Debbie, that was such a good idea to celebrate your daughter's big event. Letting her know how valuable it is right off the bat is so smart. I am struggling with a yard sale problem myself. I've been storing things out back, out of the way, but haven't had to time to have one! In the spring I hope. My neighbors are doing it with me. I used to have one every year with a friend. But she doesn't do them anymore, so my stuff is waiting for me to have it here. Her place was the perfect spot. Anyway, I think I'll have two more, then never again!!!!

When I ate at the Mexican restaurant, the same thing happened to me. I was very uncomfortable. In my book "Fiber 35" it talks about inflammation being the cause of many health woes and brought on by diet. I'm going to reread that chapter today and share it with you all. In the NFNS cookbook, it says one of the goals of this diet is the elimination of inflammation. Hmmmm.

I hope the mother of triplets gets back on too. I think she has a lot more that she can share. And I'd love to hear it.

Never heard of a tater tot casserole!

152.6 today. In the 152's for the first time. You guy's...reread your books! Get on the plan! Stick to the plan! Join me in a world where clothes are fun again. Where men do double takes. Where seeing yourself in a mirror reminds you of "you," not someone else' body. Come on!!!!!

My stomach dosn't feel much better today but still bloated. I didn't notice that the food was salty but I'm sure it was. Still thirsty this morning and I actually feel like my stomach is still full.

We make the green bean casserol at Thanksgiving too with the french fried onions on top. Turkey, mashed potatoes & gravy, cranberries, rolls, sweet potatos, and red sour kraut. Pumpkin, apple and pecan pie for dessert. It certainly is not a sin if you are thankful. How can it be said that a family gathering of joy and happiness to be thankful for the bounty God has provided can be sinful?

193.5 today ~ strange, I feel so bloated and giant today.

Still riding high from my new weight. When I was dishing out food to the pets this morning, I started thinking about my long and varied weight history. I can remember being the girl with no weight problems and reading all the current magazines and giving advice to friends struggling with their weight. But my low weight was not owed to good habits, it was just there. No positive action was taken.

Then, I became the girl with a weight problem. People were giving me advice and I couldn't make it work for me. No positive action was taken.

Then along came NFNS. I learned about it. I found this support group. It worked for me. Lot's of positive action was taken. The positive action, day after day, made the difference.

Take it one day at a time. One meal at a time. One snack at a time.

A lot of the weight loss books that I have talk about concerns re: inflammation and weight loss. I have been reading on line this morning further info on inflammation. It is interesting but complex. There seems to be a very long list of foods to avoid on a anti-inflammatory diet. The good news is that 2 of those things to avoid are flour and sugar. Another harder one I thought was no dairy.....even including cottage cheese (yikes!!!!) You also should not eat any prime cuts of meat as they are more fatty and you should eat grass fed not grain fed meats and very little of those as well. I thought it was all interesting but a little overwhelming......many I am wrong maybe it wouldn't be that bad.

Well, I just ate a ribeye and red potatoes with parmesan cheese!!!! I do believe we should limit our red meats, but I will always be a meat eater. And cottage cheese is such a staple for me. Now I'm trying to decide if I fell bloated.....nope, I'm all right.

Hilda, you are so right about the celiac sprue. My sister has it and my husband began wondering if I did too. But I don't think I do, her symptoms were so pronounced I would know if I had them. I have always admired her lean, lean body. Her legs look like a young woman's. Now I know it's because she quit eating flour in her 20's. She has limited her sugar somewhat, she is after all a woman and prone to dieting attempts like the rest of us. She can eat rice and corn flour, but it is hardly worth the trouble for her unless it's something her family can eat too. She often eats an entire different thing than her family is having. She goes to the health food store, miles away, but it is so expensive there she limits what she gets.

Today I cleaned. I managed to get most of it done. Tomorrow I'll finish that and start cooking. I am really looking forward to this holiday. Everyone seems just a little happier this time of year.

Y'all have a great evening!

Hi Everyone,
I survived! 192 today. Thanksgiving was fabulous. My brother did a "happy dance" at the table at the taste of my turkey! We used a brine to marinade it and I have to say it was the best turkey I have ever had. I had one plate of food. I tried everything but didn't go overboard. I wanted a second plate just because it all tasted so good but I didn't! My sister in law who is doing this diet too has lost over 30 pounds and she looked so thin yesterday. I made two sugar free punpkin pies and a sugar free pumpkin cheesecake. I was happy to have them to share with her. I hope you all had a wonderful day and if you over indulged that ok, just get right back on NF/NS today.

I was full and had seconds on a few things. I was then fuller. But I guess because my serving sizes were smaller, the feeling didn't last long and I had small desserts, then done!!! Everything tasted great. Usually, I go right for left over the next morning, but I'm nor hungry this morning so I'll pass.

153.2 this morning. Gained two lbs in one day. Yep, that was good food.

Today all four of us are waking up in the same house. I'm planning a huge lazy day until a wedding this evening. I really don't want to expend the energy to go, but it is the daughter of a dear friend.

I'm glad we aren't all in a food coma! I hope everyone can relax today.

1 box pillsbury refrigerated pie crust
3/4 cup slenda
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/4 tsp cloves
3 lg eggs
one 15 ounce can pumpkin ( not filling as that has sugar)
one 12 ounce can evaporated milk ( may use low fat)

Mix splenda, salt, cinnamon, ginger and cloves in a small bowl. In a large bowl beat eggs, add pumpkin, then spice mixture. Gradually add milk.

Pour into pie crusts and bake 20 to 25 minutes.
Serve with sugar free cool whip or whipped cream.

I would double the recipe for deep dish pie pans.

Morning all. I am so ready to get back on NFNS I am starting immediately! Yesterday I ate some left overs for a big lunch around 2 pm. I have to say I was feeling a bit bloated before I ate, but I felt fine otherwise. Anyway, big yummy lunch, then nothing else to eat. I started to get ready for the wedding about 5:15, by 5;45 I was so miserable I almost didn't go. My stomach was so bloated it hurt. I was cramping and felt really bad. Needless to say, I didn't dance at all, which my husband loves to do and so that was no fun for him, and I didn't eat anything, although there were things there I could have had. This morning I weighed in at 154.2 and I am done. The last wedding I attended I was NFNS and had a blast. I felt great and danced all night.

I like feeling better, looking better and being comfortable much, much more than eating F&S. The amazing thing is, I haven't ate so much that you would think I would gain weight. It's just F&S add it on just that fast!

I did not wear my previous "wedding dress" last night. It was too big. So, I wore some slinky black pants. But I did not have a top that fit well. So I wore something simple and wore a turquoise suede blazer with it. My blazer was so big it hung on me. I bought it 2 years ago and wore it to my father's funeral. It fit fine then. Even my shoes were trying to come off my feet! My feet are narrow to begin with, now even more so I guess. I promised my husband for the next event I would have proper fitting attire so we could dance.

Yesterday a couple my husband went to high school with stopped by. I have known them for over 30 years. They both used to be slim. Julie, the wife, has been large for many years. For Jimmy, the weight came later in his life. They are both very overweight now. Julie said something about her weight struggle. I asked her if she had ever heard of Dr Gott's NFNS. They both said they had heard of it, did it, and easily dropped 40 lb each in about 6 months. I was stunned! Then they both said they began nibbling again on sweets and pasta and gained it all back, and then some. I am sure there is a lesson in there, besides the obvious. I keep thinking, if you choose to eat poorly, you are choosing fat over slim. When tempted, if you push away your good sense so you can indulge yourself, you go right where you don't want to go. Julie said she couldn't live without mac and cheese. I can.

I am not leaving this house today!!!! I think I will drag out the Christmas stuff while my kids are here to help. That's a plan.

Later.

I also decorated today with the 3 granddaughters. It is time to give away the goodies. I, too, am up 2-3 pounds from the holiday. I sent some to a relative who is in a nursing home to share. Find an elderly person and fix up zip lock bags for their freezers. Go to the grocery store and buy more healthy veggies so you can de-tox. I will try the pumpkin pie for my mom with the gluten free baking mix. I need to substitute 3/4 cups of sugar with splenda. I use nutmeg instead of cloves usually. Going to have pictures made with Santa today. Have a 3 yr and 6 yr old that I hope will like it.

We also did a little shopping and had lunch out. Picked the cheese and topping off the crust. Had just a little crust, it was thin.
Diet soda. Not too bad.

Wow Connie, for your friends to drop 40 pounds and then gain it back. That would be tough, but I can't say that everytime I lost I didn't gain it back either. I hope this time will be different. Like you say, one day at a time, one good choice at a time. Its all in consistancy.
Tonight will be snacking while watching the ball game. Poor ol Notre Dame needs a good game. USC tonight. I will try to make good choices.

Feeling more like myself this morning. Weighed 153.2. I've been thinking a lot about what my body went through! I was so certain that sugar was the most evil. But now I'm not so sure. Sugar definitely messes with your blood sugar levels, but flour packs a wallop as well. Somewhere I was reading about inflammation, in regards to diet, and it stated flour becomes the equivalent of glue in our digestive track. Well, yuck! No wonder it makes us so bloated. Both sugar and flour are evil to our systems. Yes, I said evil. I do not agree with nutritionist that claim no food is evil. I think flour and sugar are the exception. Maybe not evil for everyone, but after the last two days, I am sure they are evil to me.

We never got around to the Christmas decorations yesterday. But I did have a wonderful restorative nap. Maybe later today I can get stuff out. I plan on cooking a NFNS dinner tonight. Tomorrow I will toss whatever holiday leftovers remain. Usually there are none to toss.

Time to get serious about Christmas shopping. I order almost all of my gifts on line. One trip to the mall towards the end of the season usually ties up loose ends. Maybe I'll start my shopping today.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday. I'll be checking in later.

That must have been you Debbie. Good job. It does feel good to get back to NFNS. We went out to dinner with family today. We went to Ryan's. It was a good choice for me, I can always find something I can eat there. I had a small steak, small piece of skinless chicken, green beans and two servings of mashed potatoes. I was starving. Yesterday I hardly ate at all, so today my appetite returned. I feel good, not too full so far. But I probably did overeat. If I make it through the evening without a stomach ache it will be more proof that f&s are terribly hard on our bodies. No more flour for me, or sugar. We have a chance of snow tonight. Very rare. Everyone is excited.

Lady Di, Remind me of your situation. How long have you been doing this NF/NS? Where did you start and how long have you been at a plato? Have you been faithful to the diet or have you been laking motivation? What is your goal? Connie always says to drink plenty of water ,do you do that? My cycle has a lot to do with how I don't loose any weight for at least a week or two. I don't remember your age so that could be an issue. Did you read the book? Do you make any of the recipes in the second half of the book.
Bronwyn and I know how it is to get discouraged. If you haven't read the book, please buy it or if you have, read it again. I just re-read a section on what Dr. Gott calls dichotomous thinking. People think if they don't loose 10 pounds in a week they have failed. He said an average of one pound a week is great. Sometimes it will be more and sometimes it will be less. Do not set unrealiastic goals for your self and don't get frustrated if it goes slower than expected.

Please write frequently here on this site. It really does have a positive effect on me to get set straight when it is apparent I am not losing.
Remember that losing weight quickly by severely restricting calories may result in weight loss but you will quickly regain the weight you lost when the inevitable happens. And that is returning to the original eating habits. This weight needs to be lost by a slow process because that is the way it was gained. When I lose slow I know its because I have lost real weight not just temporary water weight. Be the turtle, not the rabbit.
Keep on keepin on Lady Di, you can and will do it!

Morning all. Wow, what a weekend! This morning everyone is off to work or school and I can think again. Lot's to do today, as usual, but I'll be taking my time with things.

Weighed in at 153.4 this morning. I ate NFNS yesterday, but I ate more than I normally do. So it really does come down to eating less than you burn, even on this plan. I remember on the ww plan they had free foods. Foods you could eat an unlimited supply of and still lose weight. Does anyone on this site know what those foods are? They were veggies, that's all I remember. I didn't stay with ww long enough to learn about them.I'm feeling good today. My stomach has recovered from the holiday foods.

I think that is part of your answer, Lady Di. You have to eat less than you burn. If your metabolism is shot from yo-yo dieting, you need to get some aerobic exercise in. Nothing dramatic, but 20 min of aerobic (that is, with your heart rate at the optimal level) would help. Water helps in that it fills you up so you don't eat extra calories. It may take three glasses, one right after the other, for it to work, but it does work. Very important. What ever you do, do not get discouraged. Even though you haven't lost, you are learning! Now you know what doesn't work. I did the water and ate much less because of it. Well, that and not having cravings. I ate only real nutritious foods. A lot of veggies, lean meats. I do not eat processed meats. I eat light laughing cow cheese. Nothing full fat if I can help it. I have yet to exercise (shame on me!) so all of my weight loss is from changing my diet. It can happen. Some days I eat so very little it surprises me, but if I'm not hungry, I'm not eating. Then, the next day, I might eat more. We are so fooled into believing we should eat huge helpings it takes real effort to get away from that. But eating less is the way our bodies were designed to operate. I am convinced of that. I try to have three foods on my dinner plate. That's it. I don't eat desserts. Even NFNS ones. Even if the calories are low, it's still more food. If I am hungry at night, water or decaf. Hang in there. Keep working at it until you figure out what works for you and then run with it.

Debbie sorry about the binge.......of course you feel bad about it and there is no way to avoid the consequences of having eaten so many calories. What I am saying is that there isn't anything that can be done about the past.....the only thing we can have any control over is the future. You have had some really great days, you have enjoyed some great progress including losing 10% of your body weight. WooHoo 10% of your body weight....that is significant! Today was one of those not so great days......but you have many great days ahead of you. Hey you may even have some bad days ahead of you as well.....this is real life and we have to take the bad with the good.

It is so hard to eat sugar (like some of us have done over the past few days) and for me especially chocolate and then just stop again. I am hanging on with my fingernails here.....I want some chocolate.....I hope my fingernails are strong enough to hold me up and away from the chocolate.

Hello-

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend. The day after I stayed home. I had Thanksgiving at my brother' house. I brought the No Flour No Sugar Diet recipes - apple crisp- I added fresh tart cranberries; banana oatmeal cookies; also made a couple salads from the NFNS cookbook.

I have been on this diet for three years now. Exercise is all the key to losing weight. I walk 30 minutes a day or just move around, clean house, garden etc.

I can't stand Cool Whip or even any fat free sugar. I guess it upsets my stomach. I usually eat fruits with rice cakes, yogurt, raisins and nuts for snackes.

Just the idea of eating cakes, cupcakes, or anything that is processed makes me sick.

If you had a bad day, just start again tomorrow

I feel so bad for you Debbie and Bronwyn, having those cravings. After reading your posts, my first thought is maybe you could find a substitute for the chocolate/sugar craving. Is there anything that is NFNS that you love? Like nachos or rich mashed potatoes or something like that? Maybe you could nibble on that while you wait for the cravings to subside. You probably wouldn't be in the "losing" zone, but maybe you could consider it a "transition" zone. If it worked, it would be worth it. Some things I have read say one week is what it takes to get off sugar cravings. So that would only be one week of transition. Even if you gained a lb or two it would be worth it to be able to stick to the plan.

Another thing you might consider is rating your craving. Then really thinking about it, examining it. Sure, that sounds lame, but it would buy you some time to get on top of the craving rather than letting it sweep you away. Just some thoughts.

I threw out the rest of the left overs. I feel so much better today. I got a lot done and I really enjoyed my day. Hilda, I am very sensitive to sugar hangovers. Nothing for it but protein and time.

Positive attitudes for all of us. We deserve it!

It wasn't that long ago I tried to put it on and I couldn't. There can not have been a significant weight loss since then. So I guess my body is slimming down all the time. I just wish I could lose more off my hips next!

Cold here today. I made some baby lima beans and added some salt and real butter. Delicious!

I was good the rest of the day. I really didn't suffer that much. Maybe the flour is the worst of the two for me. My friend said the protien in the peanuts may have helped to stabilize my blood sugar even with the chocoalate. I regret all the calories but am motivated to stay on track. I think it was an emotional eating thing. I didn't really crave it that much. I think it was just a way to sort of care for myself. ( a bad way)Back to NFNS now.
Thanks for all the kind and supportive words. I need that.
Hang on Bronwyn, hang on!!!!
Hey for the rings Connie!! Thats a terrific boost.

To the one who has been on this diet for 3 years;
How much have you lost and how have you been doing? Are you on maintainance now?

Good night all

I haven't been able to sleep very well for a while.....groan! Connie thanks for the sympathy about the chocolate cravings but I was reading some old posts and I recognize that when I was really doing NFNS consistently that those cravings were not there. I had talked about having some chocolate bars lying on the cupboard and that I wasn't bothered by them.....because i was feeling so good.

It is now 6:00 a.m. and I haven't been asleep yet....I think I will still go and try for a coupe of hours.

Hi All! Was away from the computer during Thanksgiving, and I really missed reading my daily incentives (all of you!). Thanksgiving was at my house this year - 20 relatives, lots and lots of food, as well as lots and lots of laughs. What a crazy family!
Yesterday I went on NFNS in earnest - clean day yesterday and looking forward to another one today. Went to OA meeting and that's almost as good as reading and chatting with you. I've spent the last 2 weeks thinking and planning and deciding that I want to be healthy more than I want to eat F&S. I have over 100 lbs to lose, so I figure this will take about a year or more. I loved reading about the triplet mom who has kept it off for several years. That's my goal - not only to lose the weight once and for all, but to keep it off and be able to live a happy and productive life. Is that asking too much?
Bronwyn, you have been my source of strength and inspiration and I so appreciate your ability to be honest and real with all of us. Hope you were able to get some quality rest. I know for myself that temptation is much greater when I'm tired or sleepy.
Hey Connie -- I'll be SO glad to report when my wedding rings fit again!
Later!

I am glad to hear you were able to get past those cravings once. You can do it again.

I weighed 151.6 this morning, then 152.4. I'm sure the 152 is accurate. I'm just relieved to show any loss at all. My size 12 slim jeans are either stretching out or I'm almost ready to try some size 10 jeans. Maybe I'm being too optimistic here! I do not have anything that small to try on here at home. For sure it would be size 10 loose fit. I'm sticking to the plan, I've stuck to the plan, the weight is coming off.

This is the beginning of week 18 for me. Four and 1/2 months. Debbie and Bronwyn, where would you be if you were starting week 18? Here's the thing...I could go to the store right now and buy a bunch of junk food. So it was no loss to give it up for 18 weeks. It's still out there. Maybe if I had the last junk food on earth I would eat it and mess up the plan. But it will always be there so your not missing anything that you can't have one day down the road. Does that make sense? Sometimes I get a thought I think might be inspirational, but I can't articulate it very well. I just want you guys losing, right now!!!!!! My old body is returning. I'm not special, it can happen to you guys. The double takes, the great looking clothes...all of it. COME ON!!!!!! Stop thinking about what you can't eat and concentrate on what you can eat. Today I am making butternut squash casserole. It is so cheesy, even kids would eat it. It' comfort food to the max and it's NFNS. Try some at your house. Eat yummy NFNS dishes until you crave no more.

Ok, I'm stepping down from my soap box. Love you guys.

Thanks Connie. You're absolutely right! Great soapbox speech!! I think all of us could use a kick in the behind once in a while.
Nike's famous words of "just do it!!" are more true than we realize.
You are an inspiration to me and several others, so keep doin' what you're doin'. I want to be able to be you in the near future!
Bless you all for this wonderful site!

Hi Mish. Glad your back. Your enthusiasm is wonderful! You can do this. A year is a great goal. I have always kept "a year" as goal for me. I figure, what's a year? I might as well spend it doing something smart. I have plenty of unsmart years behind me. And the Nike comment...I have wanted to add that to this site myself! I only have one more thing to add, (at this point, there will be more later!) make sure you are making foods you really like. I think that helps with not feeling deprived. And be happy about the decision to be more healthy. No one can do this for us, we have to do it ourselves. Think about what you are putting in your mouth BEFORE you put it in. That's more than one thing...I'm on a roll today. Must be because I'm feeling so good!

I thought this fit in well with how everyone here feels about the leftovers of Thanksgiving but this is stated from a food safety aspect..........final thought though is to just get rid of everything and start to eat well smile

MAY I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION PLEASE!!

Today is Tuesday, December 2 and your Thanksgiving leftovers are
officially six (6) days old. According to the USDA, turkey leftovers
are good for four (4) days. It's time for them to go. Gravy should
have been tossed after 2 days; stuffing has to go too…its time is up
after 4 days.

Do not attempt to stretch the time on this; they are officially too
old to be good for anything except the trash, you don't want to be
sick. Do not attempt soup with that carcass. Do not feed your dog or
cat any leftover meat. Simply toss it, all of it, including side
dishes and cranberries. Just because there is no mold and it still
smells good, doesn't mean it is safe to consume.

You may now go back to your regularly scheduled cooking.

This was the first year I've had any left overs to throw out! And there was quite a bit left over, I guess I always ate them up by myself. My son brought home some muenster cheese today. I love the stuff and ate more of it than I should have. It is NFNS, but still, it's cheese. So I overindulged. Tomorrow I will need to be careful. I definitely have my weak moments too, I just stick to NFNS.

Today I was looking through a catalog and found a pair of jeans I like. I can't decide if I should order a 10 and wait until I can wear them. Is that stupid? Probably. I would just be trying them on all the time. And then I might wear them when they are too tight and I would look stupid. I better think that over some more.

Sweet dreams.

You can lose the weight. As I said before it took me 3 years to loose over 100 pounds. If I have an urge to eat, I drink glass of water, eat celery and carrots. That stops the cravings.

Also, I keep a picture of me at 215 pounds in my wallet and on my refrigerator. If I have an urge for sugar or any junk food I always say to myself "what passes through your lips goes on my hips. any junk food that look yummy will enlarge my tummy.

Brushing my teeth also cuts down the cravings.

Today is day 3 and happy to report that I'm NFNS. Noticing how much more alert I am and my indigestion is gone. The scale shows me down 5 lbs, which is a good start. I know the early pounds come off faster, so I have no illusions of losing quickly. However, it does give me incentive and hope that I'm on the right track. Trying to focus on just today and trusting myself to treat myself well. That use to mean stuffing my face with all sorts of nasty goodies, which only succeeded in making me feel worse! For today, I have my meals and snacks planned out and I'm good to go!
Hope everyone has a great day today! :)

Good point Mish, planning your daily food in advance. I menu plan for a weeks worth of meals, then grocery shop. Very rarely do I face a day without a prepared eating plan and my pantry stocked for it.

Bronwyn, I hope you got some sleep. It seems your system is so out of whack. I wonder if it could be hormonal. I could not sleep at all until I got on HRT. Think about it. Remember the 2 hormones your body releases when sleeping is off? Both of them work against you when it comes to weight loss.

Dear inspirational lady who lost 100 lbs,

What is your name? Your tips are great. Have you reached your goal weight? Will you stay on NFNS forever?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Weighed in at 150.8 this morning. What a surprise. It seems I am losing again. The mysterious wonders of NFNS are working their magic on me. Yesterday I ate a lot of cheese and I ate that cheese with corn chips. I thought I would be sustaining at best. Today I am having lunch out. We are eating at a place known for it's wraps, sandwiches with unusual breads and pasta dishes. I'm hoping they have a baked potato on the menu. Otherwise, I'll be reaching in my purse for nuts. I think they have a salad bar. Maybe some soups too.

How ya doing Debbie...and Hilda?

Good Morning! How is everyone? My name is Sydney. I am the triplet mom. I love the NFNS diet. I plan to bee on it forever. My children eat healthy too. I don't feed them any sugar or flour too. They eat a healthy diet. For their birthday I baked a vegan pumpkin cake with No Flour No sugar. The icing was unflavored yogurt from Trader Joe's mixed with vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Yes, I plan to be on this diet forever. I eat organic products. My children are raised healthy.

I do not feed the children junk food.

Also, there were days when I was off the diet in the beginning. I believe you take your time and if you went off the diet it is okay.

When I shop at Costco, sometimes I feel like tasting every samples they offer. I have cut up veggies in my purse if I have anycravings for sweets when I shop at Costco.

I am very excited about getting down to the 140's. Yes, indeed. I wore "the jeans" today and they are really loose. A long, long time ago I dieted myself down to a point where I could get them on. But they were very tight. And of course that didn't last. And that diet stint was most unsatisfactory. I was hungry all the time. I can't believe how great NFNS works. Yes, yes, yes...we have to watch our overall calories!!!! But it works so good. Today I ate half a steak and a baked potato with sour cream and a salad. What a diet! I may have not lost weight on this day, but I did no harm.

Kudos to you Sydney. As you can see we have varying levels of "healthy eating" on this site. You and Bronwyn lead the way in natural ingredients. I do pretty well, but I've got a long way to go. All organic is not an option, but I get it when I can.

I went to a health food store today and got me some Bible Bread. 7 grain and raisin. I hope I don't go nuts on it, but I want to try it. I'll try it on Friday.

Use your Ezekiel bread to make croutons for your salad. I love the English muffins once a week. I am still getting over Thanksgiving. Will weigh in again Sat and see how much damage I did. Can still wear the same pants so that is a good sign!

I love the Ezek bread toasted with a bit of natural peanutbutter and sugar free jelly on it. I haven't had it for weeks. I think that will be my breakfast. I have been in and out of bed for a couple hours now. Bronwyn, are you sleeping? I hope I can sleep soon. I just hate it when I can't stay asleep.

There must have been something in the air last night, I was up and down constantly! Actually, I made the mistake of having a cup of coffee at 2:30 with my late lunch. That explains my sleepless night.

152 this morning. I am hoping I can go back to sleep for an hour or so.

I'm going to lunch with a friend today. I hope I can behave. I will not have a repeat of Olive Garden. We're going to Houlihans. I'll have to look in my South Beach Dining Guide book and see what they recommend...... Wow, Lots to choose from.
