Morning all. I've just finished my first cup of coffee, I can begin to function now! I slept in intervals last night, as I do every night, but I feel like I slept really hard.
143.4 this morning. I think my legs are healed enough to try my exercise video. This week is so full I hope I can get to it.
Off to run errands. Great day all. |

I am sooooo bloated. I don't know if it is a delayed reaction to the pancakes or the fact that I had too many salt and pepper cashews last night. Either way, I look pregnant. It is so weird.
I hope everyone is having a good day. I weighed the same this morning as yesterday morning 175.8.

Back home. I made it to Whole Foods for my favorite lunch. I'm bloated from being stuffed! Our whole foods store does not sell ezek tortillas. I think I found another store, if they are still in business.
I'm off the hook for dinner. I can't imagine I'll eat again today. I think I'll tackle my overflowing closet. |

Been busy. I was invited today to watch a video with friends......it was on the "Rave Diet". I can't remember exactly what RAVE stands for......but it is no refined foods and a plant based diet. Some of the information was good and some of it was totally radical, fear mongering rants. One of my friends that was there has gone totally Vegan and is beyond skinny.....she looks anorexic. I feel bad that our friendship is just not really there anymore. She has taken so many obsessive and radical approaches to so many things in the last year. She has devoted her life to Yoga and other exercise , plus her vegan lifestyle. It truly is like she is a different person. She is very self absorbed. Anyways she agreed with and took delight in every aspect of the RAVE program.
Connie what did you eat at "Whole Foods'? Is that the name of the restaurant?
Off to work on more bean dishes......... |

Whole Foods is our health food store. I believe it is the biggest store of it's kind in Memphis. The have a great salad bar and ala carte hot plate bar and today I noticed a coffee/juice bar. I always have a salad and some Italian salad. The dressing, ranch, is fresh, not bottled. If a restaurant can't serve fresh salad dressing, I don't believe it is worth eating at. The Italian salad is soooo good. All that mozzarella. But now I really am stuffed.
When I first started NFNS my dental asst told me to not lose too much weight. I thought, "as if!" But I think she must have known someone like your friend that went too far with a good idea. I do believe you can be too skinny. I love being able to tell people that I eat when I'm hungry, and good stuff too. I know fear of diabetes was a factor for me to lose, but I don't ever want to be afraid of "real" food. I guess it depends on what people consider "real" to be. And sometimes I have to remind myself not to get greedy about losing. I love being a 10...but would I really love being a eight? What would I do to be a six? I have to keep a realistic self image. I think I would have to become very selfish to go much lower. I would have to turn my back on my families dietary needs. I wouldn't have enough energy to do both. So I shall remain as I am and be happy for it.
Off to the pharmacy...later. |

We are having trouble getting short sales closed in less than 90 days here.

Hilda I so totally agree with you on the making of things from scratch being so much more yummy. The great thing is it is also so easy. You also know exactly what goes into the dip.....no junk. I am teaching a bean class on Thursday and I am furiously researching some clever ideas for doing new things with beans. Beans are a high fibre, low fat source of plant protein. I have found some new ideas that I am going to try out in class.....my class can be the quinea pigs for these recipes. One is called "bean. a. mole".......it is white beans and avocado made into quacamole. So now your quacomole is a high fibre, lower fat dip with protein. Avocado's are actually high in fibre as well as the beans. Another idea to add fibre is a tuna/bean mixture for a sandwich or to eat in a lettuce wrap. I will post the recipes after they are tried and true. |

I need a sewing room. But first, menu planning. Yesterday daughter had a stomach ache all day. Last night she had a Vernor's pop. Well, I wish she hadn't, but she said it helped and this morning she feels fine. She has her first quiz in Trig today, everyone cross your fingers! Latest news on my house is, it may take 3-4 more weeks to find out if the bank will accept the offer. What a joke. Other than there are so many people in the same boat we are. I don't understand why it would take so long to see that our outgoing income and our incoming income don't match up.
I think we will be moving the middle of July. The kids start school in August and they can get somewhat settled if we move then. Realistically we could live here for a few more months without having to pay anything, but we need to be settled before school begins.
I am packing today. I am sorting through momentoes of the kids that have been in a dresser since we moved here. I am putting them in separate boxes so when they decide to do something with them they can.
I need to be done with my break now.

My daughter is in Tennessee. Manchester for a three day concert. She got there at 2:30 last night and called me to let me know she had arrived safe and I thought I would never go back to sleep. I know it is crazy but I am getting such bad lines on my chest and I know it is because I sleep on my stomach and sides. I am trying to sleep on my back only and it is so uncomfortable. It does actually make a big difference how my chest looks when I sleep on my back. I am going to add another pillow tonight and see if that helps.
K10 I know that is so frustrating. Thank goodness you have the packing to do to keep your mind busy. Man this country is in a mess!
Bronwyn I can't wait to hear how your class goes. I saw on the doctors that we need to keep at least 3 days of bottled water and canned goods like beans and such just in case this flu shhould blow up in the fall. They said it might be a matter of staying in a few days if it became an epidemic. Of course, they don't think it will be that way but it pays to always be prepared.

Morning. The skies have opened up and it is pouring. Some wonderful thunder too. I think I'll stay inside today.
My son and his sort of/kind of girlfriend are no longer seeing each other. He went on a bender the other night. I worry so much that he will become an alcoholic. I was very upset with him yesterday and was only able to talk to him in short sentences. His drinking seems to be increasing. I don't know. Yesterday he was contrite, but I want to get my message to him.
Bronwyn, I can't wait to hear how your brownies came out.
K10, hang in there. What else can you do, right? Packing will keep you busy and be thankful you have time to do it right. I'm big on the "silver lining" approach.

Connie I wish I could show your son a before and after picture of my brother who is an alcoholic. He was so gorgeous and muscular in his 20's and now he looks like he's 90. He actually looks older than our Father and is skinny as a rail with a protruding gut. He has lost alot of his hair and hurts all the time because his body is not getting any nutrients. It is so sad. You can tell him something one day and the next he forgets he even talked to you. It is so hard to give kids that rope to hang themselves with but what do you do. My daughter is very independent and when I start what she calls preaching she just says "I know, I know". So far she is doing good but we are so far apart now I worry about who she hangs around with. All I can say is PRAY. I pray that she will have wisdom and discernment and see evil for what it is and then I try to slip in some good advice without her realizing it and then just trust the Lord to look over them. It's a hard thing to do.
It is so hot today. I envy your rain. If it was raining here I would grab a book and get on the couch and probably end up asleep. Dryer just cut off. Guacomole and turkey with blue chips for lunch. |

Connie my husband didn't think you needed to worry about the call from your internet provider.....didn't they just call to advise you that you couldn't do that. My kids had put lime wire on our computer once and were sharing music files with friends and we got a call from our internet provider to tell us we couldn't do that. I think it is something like when I try to put a link on here and I get kicked off for a day or two....you know a warning to not do that.
K10, the brownies are pretty good. The spice cake was better though but it had some flour in it. Both of them had 2 cups of beans, bizarre. eh!!! I haven't heard a count yet but I think there were about 50 people.....that is what it looked like to me. It is the woman's group at church. It was such a fun class.....I love doing the cooking classes it fulfills my passion to experiment and try out things. Of course, you are treated like an expert and that is way fun as well. Several people said I should have my own T.V. show.....funny and fun!!!
One problem with all the cooking and so forth.....I have been eating too much and some sugar and flour. I need to pull it all back together tomorrow and get my appetite back under control. I made so much stuff and it was all cleaned up and people raved. Anyways....wonderful home made vinagrette's, cooked beans, chiffonaded spinach and whatever vegetables or cheeses you want and you have a fabulous salad. Make it a little more filling with some brown rice. I threw some lima beans, spinach, candied pecans, grapes and blue cheese and tossed with the fig vinagrette.....so good. I did a pinto bean, brown rice and cashew salad with a yummy vinagrette. I did a chick pea, sweet potato and spinach dish with east indian spices and coconut milk over brown rice. I did a red kidney bean hummus with south west flavours. I did a avocado and garbanzo bean dip. Yummy and healthy stuff.....and now I need to quit eating. Tired but happy.
Parenthood is a lifetime commitment, we never quit worrying about our kids. We all want the best for our kids and pray constantly that they will seek paths that bring them true joy and happiness in their lives. I think you can only have true joy and happiness when you are on the right path.....it may seem fun for a while when you venture off into activities that aren't that wholesome, healthy and good but eventually it only brings sadness. Connie you are a good Mum and it has sounded like you and your son have a good relationship. Let him know how much you love him. At his age he will make his own decisions but he will also care how you feel about his decisions. Only with love can you tell him your concerns......not confrontational or angry. I suppose your husband isn't that supportive of your concerns with this issue????
Angie I agree good friendships are so important. My kids have mostly had really good friends....I have always thought that was such a blessing.

It is so hot here today and will be for the next 4 to 5 months. It really zaps my energy. I made a chiken casserole for dinner with celery, water chestnuts, onion and cheese topped with potato chips. I am going to have some green beans with it. It also has some mayo but I used the light olive oil one so maybe it won't be that bad. I am headed to Georgia Sunday to see my folks. I will stay till Friday. The worst part about the trip is leaving them. It always turns into a crying session. My daughter has called several times from Tenn. and is having a great time. She has seen Bruce Springstein (the boss), Al Greene and Merle Haggard. They are actually camping out at the concert. She said it was really hot there too but they did have a good breeze. Bronwyn, those brownies sound good. Makes me want some chocolate. Hubby and I are going to Target to pick up a few things for my trip. My parents live in a very small town and you have to drive at least 30 minutes to get anything, even organic yogurt. You really get spoiled leaving in a larger city. Funny thing is I lived in that small town for 40 something years and never realized everything they didn't have. We toughed it last night! No air conditioner, no anything. Then my husband went and found a battery operated table fan and we set it up on my night stand so it could blow on my face. He was a hero! In a way it was kind of nice, just relaxing instead doing tons of things. But now my tons of things await me. And, we went to breakfast this morning and I cheated big time. Ok, in one week I will be wearing a bathing suit in public. It will be the first time I've put a bathing suit on in 5 years at least. I bought a tanktini. The bottom is a skirt, good coverage. The top comes down to the bottom, again, good coverage. But it is tight fitting. So this week I plan to watch my calories closely. I am going to avoid cheese as much a possible. Plain and simple meals. I'm also going to try and stay away from potatoes. 145.5 this morning. I would really, really, really like to be in the 143 spot when I wear my suit. Today I will also start using a tanning cream. My friend told me Nivea Sun Kissed Legs is the best, so I'll try that one. I have a million details to take care of this week, time to make a list.

I took my girls shopping yesterday and we were quite successfull. We found a bathing suit for Oldest and some tops and jeans at a cheaper store, nothing is really over $15, we also bought her some new tennis shoes. She has to wear skater type shoes and the only ones she likes are from Vans and of course the ones that were on sale weren't in her size. Youngest got 4 pairs of jeans, for $15 and a few tops from another store under $7.99 each. Youngest and I got some tennis shoes from Payless, they were having BOGO. I also got a spatula. I would say I got ripped off on this shopping trip. Since I am in between sizes I really hate to buy anything.
Hubby worked so much this week and is really tired so he is going to stay home from church today. I can't afford for him to get sick, so I am only teasing him a little bit about how I went to church when I was sick and I am a better Christian for it. He knows I am kidding and I hope you all do too.

How to Select and Store Millet is generally available in its hulled and whole-grain form. It is available prepackaged as well as in bulk containers. Just as with any other food that you may purchase in the bulk section, make sure that the bins containing the millet are covered and that the store has a good product turnover so as to ensure its maximal freshness. Whether purchasing millet in bulk or in a packaged container, make sure that there is no evidence of moisture.
Store millet in an airtight container in a cool, dry and dark place, where it will keep for several months. |

Hello everyone. After a good nights sleep I mowed the lawn after picking up my friend from the airport. Her daughter graduated from Stanford and she flew back this morning. I watered the flowers and trees. Husband is waxing his truck and the camper. Its a perfect 80 degrees and sunny. I weighed exactly the same as I did when I left. It was a big relief to see 188. I had some illegal desserts on Saturday. A piece of peach cheese cake and another cakey dessert later. And home made ice cream. Cousin Lyle comes from Oklahoma every year and makes this wonder treat so I couldn't refuse nor did I want to. It had fresh strawberries in it and it was such a decicacy! All meals I stayed NFNS and let me tell you there was plenty of food I obstained from including wine. I love a glass of wine but It really wasn't hard. I took food I could have and substituted when ever I needed too. I feel very successful. Have you all been good? I wish I could say I was 100% true but I think what I did was ok considering my circumstsances. We had a good time and saw lots of family. We swam in my SIL's pool. Because I had already lost some weight I didn't even think of my size. I felt good even though no one commented on my loss accept my kids. They said I was thinner. (They are so sweet)
Back to the normal "mothering" for me now.
Friday we will be going camping at Salimony State Park. Good Job walking K10. Good for weigh loss and stress reduction. My osne wants me to go swimming with him so I'll check inlater.

How awesome that you felt good about yourself swimming. I have an attitude adjustment when I am losing weight even if I am still heavy at least I am losing. We have a lot of camping planned for the summer. I'm going to check the forcast for the weekend. I think it will rain tomorrow so off to the laundramat to catch up with laundry from vacation.
On a side note. I think its very important for me to mention what a difference NFNS has made in my blood sugar. Its so even. I no longer have the dips that make me shakey and ravenously hungry. It also has assisted in a generally even mood. I have not had the usual anziety and depression I usually get when school lets out and I get over whelmed by planning this long trip to Mo. we take every year. I really can't say enough about how importanat a persons diet is to their mental state. I wonder what I could have accomplished in my life if I had not spent so many years battling depression. Don't get me wrong, I am not poo pooing the importance of Motherhood. That is what I have been doing for the last 16 years. But I do think that I would have been more motivated to go to college and establish a career (sp?) if my over all mental state would have been more stable. I'm sure my depression started when I was around 20. I recognize the symptoms I had back them, even though I didn't know it then. I thought eveyone felt like I did. It wasn't until I was pregnant with my 3rd baby(13 years later) that I sought a Doctor's help. Anyway, I feel better than I've felt in years. If my story can help even one other person, that is worth putting it down here.
Good day to you all. |

Debbie: It is great that this way of eating has helped with your mood. I am sure you will encourage someone with your statement.
I just made a variation of Nikki's cookies I will put the recipe here. Kind of like banana bread. Did we determine if meal isn't the same as flour?
OATMEAL BANANA COOKIES
3 large ripe bananas (4-5 medium) well mashed 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4cup coconut oil, barely warm so it isn’t solid 2 1/2 cups of oats 2/3 cups almond meal 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees, racks in the top third. In a large bowl combine the bananas, vanilla extract, and coconut oil. Set aside. In another bowl whisk together the oats, almond meal, salt, and baking powder. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir until combined. The dough is a bit looser than standard cookie dough, don't worry about it. Drop dollops of the dough, each about 1 tablespoonful in size, an inch apart, onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes. Smash down if desired.
I may add more banana next time. They aren't as sweet because they don't have coconut in them. I think they make for a nice treat.

K10.....I don't have the recipe in front of me but it looks like you left out the coconut and chocolate, were those the only changes you made. These would probably be very much like Triplet Mum's banana bread,,,,,I would think, I don't know though as I never saw her recipe. Truthfully I don't think I would care for them too much without even the sweetness of the coconut and I would certainly prefer them with the chocolate. Would you kids eat them this way?
Things have been really busy here. We have some changes going on and busy times ahead.
Debbie M......you have fit into my feeling that we need to get rid of the diet mentality.....ON and OFF. You were NOT "Off program".....you ate well but because of the special occassion you choice to have something with sugar in it. You did not fail you choose......choice is empowering. I think things like this experience are big steps.....not baby steps.....you didn't throw in the towel. |

K10, my hats off to you! I just can't seem to make up my own recipes. Your attitude is in the right place. Maintaining is good. When you get the weekend part under control, you will be flying! I think if your head is always on NFNS, you are headed in the right direction. You will so love it when you get there.
Debbie, I want your bathing suit attitude. It doesn't help that my legs are still unattractive. But I am going to put that suit on regardless. I doubt I'll get in the water. Maybe. It's a lake and I'm a pool kind of girl. I have had the exact same feelings about my anxiety and my life. My first panic attack happened when I was 16. It was life altering. It shaped my life more than anything else. I'm not whining either. But it does make you wonder what could have been.
I'm getting my hair cut and colored in a few minutes. I have ruled out highlights. I know I wont keep up with them and I'm going to be in the sun a bit, soooo. I hope I can get in and out. It looks like it's going to storm again. Our poor trees! I wish I could just curl up in bed.

Bronwyn: I left out the coconut, chocolate and cinnamon. I just thought it might be interesting to try without those. The coconut gives it a totally different taste. The only chocolate I have is the no sugar kind and I try to limit myself on that. I have some nectarines in the fridge and I was wondering if I could use them as a base like the bananas what do you think?
I agree with you Bronwyn as to Debbie making a choice and not failing. We just can't choices too often or then we will be back in the same boat we were in.
Connie: I hope you like your hair. Highlights do require more maintenance than I am willing to keep up with. We have had some really mild weather. Not hot at all. I guess it is supposed to start warming up this week. You will hear me complaining when it does. I hope your trees survive.

Back from the salon. It took forever, but I'm happy. Went with an all over color, no highlights. I just can't do it. A little trim. I was insistent that my hair always be long enough to clip up, I hope it still is. I'm glad that's over. Normally I color at home but I didn't want to have stray grays in the back. I'm sure I always miss some when I do it.
Everyone sounds fine and dandy, except Bronwyn and her broke vita mix. Sorry about that. I know they aren't cheap. Any news on the tractor? My husband is looking into a lawn service. I can't believe it. We are so NOT lawn service kind of people. But our $2000.00 lawn mower has been nothing but broke since we got it 3 years ago. He's had it. I'm hoping it can limp through another year. I hope we all sleep tonight. Everything is better with a good nights sleep. |

There are a couple in our neighborhood that aren't, but that is not common. What nationality are the people who the lawns where you live?
Bronwyn: So sorry about the vita-mix. Don't they have a really good warranty? Can you trade yours in for a new one and get a credit or something? Do you have county fairs near you during the summer? I know that is where they sell a lot of them. When I was checking online for one last month you can enter where you live and they will tell you where a demonstration will be.
My husband should be home soon. It is nearly 7:30 here. We can't wait until we are closer to his work. It sure makes for long days. Gas is going up here. At the corner near our house it is over $3.00. That is a place that is more expensive anyway.

Yes I am here. I check in every now and then but I haven't had a lot of time lately. We have been going through a lot lately. My neice graduated from high school.....all the following parties and her party (we had about 75 people). I am exhausted....we had a lot of help and people were great but my legs are not good and they are very swollen and painful.
You know, sometimes I just wonder about our world today. My husband is 70 years old. He's a good man who volunteers at a food shelter the first Sunday of every month. He takes care of his sister who has a mental disablilty. He has Chronic lymphomic leukemia and has to check in every three months to find out that it is getting worse but not bad enough to start treatment just yet (always a worry) and now his little barber shop ( a 10' wide store) in a shopping center built in 1959 is being sued, along with several other businesses in the shopping center by a right to access disability group out of another state (not even in our state). I understand that this group hit two different shopping centers on the same day. I have been informed by two different attorneys that this is a new money making racket by certain lower than life attorneys who represent these so-called disability organizations. They have a token handicap person visit each business, ask to use the restroom facilities and then measure and make notes of what is not up to code. No notice is given that someone (like a patron or something) had a problem....just a lawsuit. Their attoneys make money and the token handicapped individual is paid a huge fee to pose as the expert witness. So now we have to hire our own attorney (huge money), reconstruct a handicap accessible bathroom (which will be a miracle in our small little shop and expensive) and deal with this new latest scam and there is not a darn thing that we can do about it!
I have done research on the internet and have found out that this new craze started in California and has made it's way all over the states. I guess some really smart attorney figured another way to get money from innocent people. I believe that all people have rights and I am not against any effort to make things accesible to all people...neither is my husband...but the fact that attorneys have figured a way to use the disablity of a person, or group of people, for their own financial gain, just burns me up.
I am going to try not to eat out of anger now. Good night all. If any of you can feel my pain please keep me and my husband in your prayers. Thanks. |

Oh Debster, I am so sorry about such a travesty happening to you and your husband. This is really a sad state of affairs when we have such shysters taking advantage of people like that. I can't believe this could go through the legal system. One question,,,,,is a barber shop required by law to provide a washroom for patrons. I would think you may be able to fight on that basis. Food establishments are required to have washrooms but I wouldn't think every place of business would be. Is there a washroom in the mall you are in. If so isn't that the facility that people should be using. Could you contact legal aid for some free advise before you spend a bunch of money on a lawyer? So sorry!!!! |

Bronwyn, our shop's bathroom was actually put in for employee use, but since my husband allows patrons to use it, that argument no longer exists....and anyway, they say that employees are handicapped as well (that is what it states in the suit). Small struggling shopping centers and businesses have actually closed down due to the expenses of the defense in these bogus suits. Debster, Could you possibly apply for a variance from this code due to hardship? Your hardship obviously being limited space? I only thought of this because of our situation at our other house. We wanted a fence for privacy as we were not only on a corner lot but another street came right up to the side of our yard. We always called it the fish bowl effect. A fencing company came and told us it would be against code. We went downtown and filled out the paper work and paid the application fee.($50.00) After that I remember some officials coming out to our house and looking at the situation from their car. When it was time, we had to go to the County City building to speak at the hearing to see if our variance would be granted or not. It ended up we didn't even have to speak and our case was granted the variance. Please look into this possibility.
What an awful situation to be in. I'm so sorry.
How about posting a sign, No Public Restrooms. It sounds like its too late for that.

Just read this on Sparkspeople:
Seeing is Achieving Picture Weight Loss Success With Visual Cues
Visual images hold amazing power. We can all still "see" the Challenger disaster, the flag rising over Iwo Jima, even our own high school yearbook pictures. The images are still with us today. And so are the emotions that go with them.
You can use this power to your advantage to help you lose weight. If you surround yourself with visual cues, you have a great chance of meeting that goal. A picture of what you want (or don't want) to look like; a vacation postcard that you're using as a reward; a picture of your kids who you want to stick around for - these images can stick around and pull at you even when they're not in sight.
Seeing is believing. Seeing is also achieving...

Debster, I think that is excellent advise from Debbie M. I hope you have the energy to look into that. I know this kind of stress can rob our energy. It is so outrageous that I wish I could do something to help. Some one needs to put a stop to this kind of nonsense. I wish there were a group of people who felt outraged enough about this kind of activity that they would ban together and fight it. People don't tend to feel that way until it affects them personally. Could you write your member of parliament and get him behind you on this.....sorry I know that wouldn't be the right terminology for you. But on a federal basis I have an MLA rep. I could call to address this kind of thing or locally members of council for the county I live in.

Debster, I am shocked, although I shouldn't be, at the legal situation you find yourself in. What a disgusting display of greed. I think Debbie's advice is wonderful, maybe legal aid can help you. I think once you are in front of a judge your predicament will be obvious and things will go well for you. Judges are not fond of suits like the one you are facing. The trick is hanging on to your money until you get there. Another thing you might do is contact a consumer reporter in your area. This might be the kind of thing they would love to cover and good things could come from that.

Hi Everyone....Thank you for all of your support. I have been so upset by this situation that it is consuming me. My husband spoke to the shopping center owner today and has decided to hire his attorney. I am sure that we will be spending big bucks. Unfortunately this suit has to be answered within a short period of time and my husband and I are drained of energy....really are. My legs are still bothering me quite a bit and are very swollen. My neice woke up this morning and is very sick.....went to the doctors and she has mononucleosis. You know, when it rains...it pours.
I would like to try to do something to expose this disgusting sleazy suit, but frankly it does take a lot of energy, which I am finding out...and you know what....it's happening all over the place in all different areas of our lives. That's why insurance is so high everywhere....homeowners, car, business....people are sue crazy and greedy and lawyers are becoming less ethical everyday. We have a commercial here....if you have a phone, you have a lawyer....promoting suits for car accidents, medical malpractice....well, the list goes on. Now we can use the disabled to feed our greedy little pockets too at the expense of other really good citizens. Bronwyn, we would contact our senator here....good idea.. Maybe I can muster some energy and attempt to do that. It couldn't hurt.
I would like to march myself into this stupid attorney's office and ask to use her restroom. Let's see if her restroom is handicapped accessible....I am sure that we could find some violation....now that could be a news story.
I was watching QVC tonight....and Richard Simmons was on...he is almost 61 years old. He sure is getting older looking and he is always very emotional but he is certainly inspirational. I recorded his 1/2 hour sales pitch to play back for inspiration. I am such a goof....but it's free. I am thinking that I will be able to use the new LARGE restroom in my husband's tiny business (when all is said and done) with the giant handicap bars (I'll use them as ballet/exercise bars) as my new gym facility....afterall, there won't be any room left for customers to get by to get to the chairs to get their hair cut....so why not....do I sound bitter, you bet I am. I hope these people get what they deserve one day. I guess we won't be able to get them but maybe someone else will. Good night all. |

#2......Write your senator....cut and paste your comments here if you are too tired to do it over again.....then you can just clean it up and make additions
#3......Call you local news station.....tell them the story ask them to cover it for you and the others in your small mall that are being taken advantage of.
#4......Send a copy of the letter you sending to the senator to the Bar Association.
Tell us what we can do to support you in this effort.

Debster, I can feel how overwhelmed you are, we all can. But I really think you can get through this without spending a ton of money. The legal system is frightening and frustrating. All the legal jargon is intimidating and it seems a blessing to be able to turn it over into an attorneys hands and let them take care of it. And that's when you become the "grease" that keeps the system moving along. It is a racket. I hope this is settled quickly. You will at no point find a "vindicated" moment. It's all about the money. When there is no money to be had, the lawyers will cut and run without so much as a backward glance. If your husband is making the decisions and feels more comfortable with an attorney, then he certainly has earned that right. But I really think legal aide could handle this for you. Keep us posted and we will certainly be praying for you. Bronwyn's advice is good and there is no cost involved. Do you have a friend that could help you with them?
I hope your niece feels better soon. Isn't the recovery period lengthy? |

The vessel I'm talking about is the one my neighbor gave me. It's really a planter or an old trough. I decided to make it a fish tank. I corked the holes, scrubbed it out and filled it with water. I even put a little fountain in it. Now for a day or two to go by to let the water get warmed up a bit and it will be ready for fish! My mom is ready to get rid of the fish I put in her fountain so I'll take those back. Fun fun. I'll try to get a picture posted.

Well truthfully.....like if truth were to be known .....even though it is a synonym for sullen I do think sullen may be the better way to describe my mood. Debbie so feeling sullen would not make me snarkey. I tend to think it would be impossible to be a sullen, saturnine,,,,snarkey person????? Oxymoron if I ever heard one.
Debbie i suspect if you keep seeing 188 for the next 49 years that you will become most definitely saturnine or terribly sullen your snarkey little self |
