I think it is a step forward to intentionally choose to have a little treat at times. Before we didn't even think about it, just ate whatever was offered to us without giving a thought to what was in it or how it was going to make us feel. If we stop and think about what we've eaten that day, and how much or little exercise we've had, we are at least planning to cut back on the next meal to adjust the calorie intake. Mindless eating is/WAS my downfall. |

Off to work in a minute, wanted to check in. I read the recent posts...they made me sad! What's with making all the excuses? Debbie and K10, how long have you been on this sight trying to work this plan? Can you imagine a junkie saying they are only doing a little bit of drugs? Is that ok? Is it ok for them to keep doing it for over a year and never taking the final step to get off the drugs completely? Wake up girls. No more sugar coating failure. How much weight have you lost with your so so efforts? OBVIOUSLY that way is not working. That's my speech for the morning. I'll check in when I get home. Great day all. |

I suppose the reason I seek encouragement and support on this board is because I have a problem. I struggle. If it was easy I wouldn't need you all. We do need to be realistic. We are always going to have the holidays with special treats around. To say never never never is not realistic for me or I'd say most people. |

Hmmmmm.....I have to run but I think this is an interesting discussion. I am mauling over the things that have been said and trying to decide where I stand on the issue. I know that my mode of operation has been to give in have the treat and then not see progress......and then to get really discouraged and give up. Even without giving in my weight loss journey is so slow and frustrating that I sometimes give up. I personally wish the whole world would give up sugar because we lose our ability to really appreciate the taste of healthy things when we mess up our taste buds with sugar. Eating sugar makes me want more sugar and then I don't make as good of choices for the rest of the day. |

Okay guys maybe Connie is right......can junkies do a little bit of drugs. Are we sugar addicts....can we do a little bit of sugar. I just know from experience that even if I start out just doing a little bit of off track eating that over time (and usually not that long) I have returned to old habits and I am eating whatever and not paying that much attention to it. I need to stay no sugar for a good long time before I consider whether to have a little here and there. I guess the thing about the slips is that is always ends up on my hips. It is such a momentary pleasure on the lips but permanent on the hips. I was just thinking tonight I am going to a party and then I always make a special meal and dessert on Sunday. Can I learn to enjoy making that and enjoy others having it while I simply chose to stick with my plan and not have it? I think I can do that and not even be phased by it when I have got myself into a good frame of mind by being sugar free for several days or a week. |

I think of the logo "just do it." I think when we give in time and time again, our resolve becomes as weak as our diet. It's just not healthy to be unsuccessful so many times because of our own shortcomings. With that, we become accustomed to failure. More than that, we expect failure, we embrace failure, we use failure to be able to say one thing and do another. Think about the people on The Biggest Loser. They all said they didn't think they could do it and then they all said if they could do it, anyone can do it. Just do it. You guys are killing me! You all need to do something with your time other than cheat on your diets. Get up, get busy. Be something besides eating failures. |

We definitely are addicted to sugar. There is no doubt about that. You are right, Connie, about the excuses. In Weight Watchers, years ago, it was called "cheating your way down," We are only cheating ourselves and fooling ourselves when we eat the stuff that makes us unhealthy. It ALWAYS makes me feel sluggish and bad. |

This is what Antonio Valladares, a holistic fitness and health coach in N.Y. says:
Ask your self what is important to you in your life.....what are the things you love most. Take your fitness or weight loss goal and ask yourself: 'How will achieving this goal enhance or support those areas of life I love most?'
Start with the areas you love most and come up with at least 20 reasons why your goal will enhance that area of your life. Then go through all the other areas. The more reasons you come up with, the more value you will perceive. When you make these connections, weight loss becomes more important and rises up in your hierarchy of values. As soon as you do this, the more consistent and inspired you will be and the sooner you will achieve your goal.
Saying 'I want to lose weight' simply is not valuable enough and does not drive any person to succeed. You must create more value with your goal and this is a guaranteed way to do it. Don't just think about it, you must write your reasons down.
When someone has a heart attack or is faced with some other life threatening disease, often times they quickly see the value in getting healthy and make necessary changes. They see how being healthy and alive enhances what they love most (their relationships with their kids, their business, etc). The fear of death has forced them to re-evaluate their priorities and shift their values. All of a sudden they make diet & lifestyle changes that their kids or doctors have been telling them to do for years.
Instead of waiting for a health disaster like this to force you to rearrange your values, you can easily use this method now and avoid the weight gain, fatigue, illness and disease that are plaguing the vast majority of Americans.
Take the time and do this mental exercise. Simply write down your answers and continue this every morning and evening just before going to bed for at least one month. Losing weight will quickly become much more valuable to you and the drive, discipline and willpower to 'do what it takes' automatically shows up in your life.
You still have to exercise, eat right, go grocery shopping and do a little bit of cooking, but the more value you perceive with your fat loss or fitness goal, the easier and more enjoyable these things become.
If you want to change your body, start by changing your mind. As soon as you do this, results are much easier to achieve and before you know it, you have changed your life.
WHAT I TAKE FROM THIS IS THAT LOSING WEIGHT HAS TO BE MORE VALUABLE THAN EATING THOSE THINGS THAT ARE COUNTERPRODUCTIVE TO US MEETING OUR GOALS. WHAT IS OUR GOAL AND WHY IS OUR GOAL IMPORTANT AND HOW IMPORTANT IS IT....IS IT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO MAKE IT COMMIT TO HONEST CHANGE. |
Bronwyn
| posted 12-Dec-2009 4:52am
I am going to think about this an write it down in a journal. I think that really processing through the reasons for losing weight, what value losing weight will have on my life and determining that will help with the consistency and determination of sticking to the plan. |

Morning ladies. 148.6 this morning. I admit when I read the recent posts (again) last night I was very frustrated. Sorry if I sounded harsh. My job was very taxing yesterday. I stayed an hour over and with my back still sore, I was hurting when I got home. I stayed NFNS all day. I walked past a candy dish full of mini snickers, milky way darks (my personal favorite) and some other kinds too. ALL DAY I WALKED PAST THEM!!!! I forgot to grab some cashews, so when I became hungry in the afternoon I had to ignore it. But I stayed NFNS. I just think we should try to be serious about this. Bronwyn, I'm glad you stayed NFNS. I must say, your "tone" is so much more upbeat when you do that. Much more in sync with the person I think you are in my head.
Debbie and K10, where are you? I wonder if your staying away because of cheating? If that's the case then I think you have one more reason you shouldn't cheat...it keeps you away from us. If you haven't cheated, but are just really busy, maybe that isn't an accident. Stay busy, stay away from temptation. Check in and let us know how you are doing.
Ok, menu planning and grocery shopping today. I am also going to fix my hair. I haven't done anything other than clip it up all week. So today I am going to give myself a hair do. That will entail straightening the unruly mop, a time taking job, but I am going to do it and it will be beautiful and I deserve it as a reward for being a good eating girl. I'll probably put on some make up too. That will really make me feel good. I'll be the "all dressed up with no where to go" girl today. But that's ok. |

The desserts I made were well received and they were very punctual in arriving and leaving. I think the kids all had fun at each house. Of course it started raining right when the evening started.
I feel so weird when people come to my house. It is a really nice house and I make sure to let people know we are renting. Appearances aren't always what they seem, is something I keep in mind. We haven't shared that we lost our house and I don't really want people here to know that.
Connie: I hope your back feels better soon. My back was really hurting the last two days from cooking and cleaning. I injured my back once and occasionaly have issues with it and you don't realize how bad it can be until you go through it.

Well I had a reality check this morning. I have now been NFNS for 7 days, today is my 7th. The scale today showed the exact same weight as when I weighed 7 days ago. Okay that is my reality but, I have to stay the course. I know what I am doing is making me feel good. Of course I want to see something happen on the scales but, I can't let it affect my mind set to get sugar out of my life. Sugar is very acidic and is bad for arthritis and bones,,,,,I have both issues and so no matter what the &(*Z&*(&*(&*^&*^&*^*(&(*& scales say I am doing what is right for my health. I am imprinting on my mind:
If you want to change your body, start by changing your mind. As soon as you do this, results are much easier to achieve and before you know it, you have changed your life.

Morning. 147.8 this morning. This promises to be a lazy day. I woke up last night at 1:30 and heard everyone else in the living room talking and watching tv. Fell back asleep and woke again at 2:30, everyone was still up. This time I got out of bed for a minute. Then everyone else wen to bed and I laid in bed unable to go back to sleep. I sort of drifted in out the rest of the night. I'll be sleepy all day. My to do list is very small so it shouldn't be bad, maybe even a nap later. First thing on the list...NFNS. I am determined to not go above 148. Time for me to get serious about dropping this extra 5 pounds.
The other day I heard someone say "she really let her go" and last night when I couldn't sleep that popped into my head. I didn't know the people so I knew they were not talking about me, but I'm sure it has been said about me in the past. It seems like such an unfair thing to say when you know how much time and effort women devote to their families. And if you have ever known someone who puts themselves before their families, that seems like the wrong way also. There just is a fine line we have to walk...take care of everyone and everything and ourselves all at the same time. Sounds exhausting! But making sure we eat right is the bare minimum...and we can do that. |

Corn bread would be good too! If I remember correctly, I spoon a small amount of sour cream on top. Well anyway, it is hearty and good!
Lasyone's Red Beans and Sausage
1 pound dry re kidney beans (picked and washed) 1/2 vegetable oil or bacon drippings 1/2 c dry parsley flakes 10 c water 1 tsp accent 2 tsp salt 1 med bell pepper, chopped 2 ribs celery, chopped 2 Tbslp sugar (omit) 1/4 tsp red pepper 1 cup chopped smoked sausage 1 tsp granulated garlic Rice, cooked
In a 4 quart pot, combine all of the above ingredients except the smoked sausage. Add the smoked sausage the last 30 minutes of cooking time. Cook approximately 2 hours or until beans are tender, on medium fire, uncovered. More water may be added as needed. Serve over cooked rice.

I made stuffing with Ezekial and cranberries with xylitol. We didn't have any buns so all in all it was very doable to do it NfNS and it was good, really good! Bronwyn, your post was amazing! My sister makes an entire Thanksgiving dinner that is gluten free and it tastes good too. I should mention when she started cooking that meal it was before she had found easy substitutions at the health food store. It really took her making everything from scratch with a lot of research. But it can be done. Keep it up Bronwyn and you will be able to write your own NFNS cookbook. My husband made the red beans. He is not one to mess with the recipe. It's "his" find. Anyway, I think we use accent twice a year, so I hope it's not too bad on us.
Debbie, I am so glad your staying NFNS. I wasn't sure where your head was, but your weight is going down and that is awesome! I remember when you stayed NFNS and your weight went down and you said your moods and energy were better. We could all use that.
Hilda, I love the ezek muffins. My daughter is at her last exam, when she gets done she is going to go by the health food store and buy me some. I wish I lived closer to a health food store.
I don't have any parties or social gatherings with junk food in my future. That is going to make the season easy for me. I'm sure daughter will do some festive baking, but not a problem.

Connie, That is so true about feeling good when on program.
Hilda, Staying motivated is really tough as I seem to lose my way every so often. I'm not so sure anymore if what you are eating is as important as how much you are eating. Within reason of course. And I still believe in the whole blood sugar thing affecting your behavior. Still calories, calories, calories. I wish they weren't such a pain to count.
I still believe bottom line total calories have to be watched. The lady I talked about, who lost 100 pounds, said she thought she was eating "normally" until she started counting calories. She learned she was eating double of what she should have been. Knowledge is POWER.
Bronwyn, It is such a mystery to me how your scale dosn't budge even though you stay true. That must be so frustrating. I'm sorry.

I keep reading these theories that you have to increase your calories to get your metabolism working. Increasing calories doesn't seem to make me lose weight either. I have also had very little high carb veggies and very little grains.

Calories are the bottom line. I don't think anyone here has been eating too few calories...I guess some people somewhere have that problem...not me anyway. Bronwyn, 1/2 pound down is sooo much better than 1/2 pound up. Let's say you lost 1/2 pound every week for a year. That's 2 month, that's 24 pounds. Hey, that would make you feel so much better. That is definitely a change in clothes sizes. But really, I think the pounds will be more than 1/2 a week over time. Things will happen over time. Your appetite will decrease and your calories will start dropping. I see great things in your future. Tonight will be a test maybe, company and NFNS. Good luck honey! Don't kill yourself on the house stuff.
Daughter made it home from her last finals. For a treat she wanted Taco Bell. She got her usual and I had her pick up an order of refried beans for me. I made my rice cake nachos with a very limited amount of cheese and topped them with the beans. Yummy! I felt like I was able to celebrate too.

The room I expected to put the company in is a large room (more like a suite) over the garage. It is all put together. We seldom ever use it and it is off by itself where you don't have to travel through the whole house to get to it. Well the pipes in the en-suite are frozen because the furnace in the garage conked out. Now I have to put them in another bedroom which involves way more cleaning, plus they will be going through most of the house to get there......groan! I went to WM to return some flannel lined jeans I got for my BIL and ended up buying some pj's for daughter. BTW, if you haven't picked up your husband a pair of flannel lined jeans, do it! And your sons as well. Anyway, I went shopping on line today and looked at some pj's for my daughter at Victoria's Secret. I always get her 5 pairs of VS panties for her stocking every year. Anyway, the pj's were awful. I have been wearing a fleece pair I got at WM for a couple of years and I love them. So, I picked her up some fleece bottoms and a light pair of bottoms as well. She may fuss a bit, but once she wears them she will be fine. Anyway, I'm feeling more Christmasy!
Do any of you have a Mr Coffee iced tea maker? They are wonderful! I always have a pitcher of ice tea in the fridge. My kids drink it, sugar free of course, all of the time. I rarely ever see them with a soda. I make it almost everyday, decaf, and we drink it like crazy. I add two small green tea bags with the other bags and it tastes great. It is an inexpensive dink to have around. And addictive!

This is a hard thing to admit. It is not possible to be overweight unless we have generated and adopted a lifestyle to sustain it.We set up our world and had chosen our lifestyle in a way that supported staying overweight. In the past, we have chosen to live in a way in which no other result could occur.
Now we are doing something to change that lifestyle! |

Oldest is my sicky and she kind of has a fever. Not being consistent there, a sore throat, dizziness, some aches and she had a little nausea last night. I just gave her some Nyquil and she will be staying home tomorrow too.
Bronwyn: So sorry about the frozen pipes I hope they don't burst or anything like that.
Debbie: I love that quote, so true. I always feel like I have to have my house cleaned up when people come to visit especially for the first time. I have a close friend who just does too much and her house is smaller and it is always cluttered. I have never minded using her restroom (powder room, washroom, ladies room, bathroom). I think if the kitchen doesn't have food growing a fungus (my SIL did once when we visited) and the bathroom isn't disgusting, that is what matters.
Connie: We used to go to Disneyland all the time when my kids were younger. We had annual passes. We lived within 20 minutes of it. We used to get the pass that was 2nd from the top (deluxe)and it was $189.00. When 9/11 happened they lowered the top pass (premium) price to $189 not too long after we paid that same amount for our pass. I went to the office and they upgraded our pass to the top one, which meant we could go everyday of the year and parking was included. We had also paid for parking so they gave us an extra month of renewal. We really enjoyed going to Disneyland. It was so nice because if it was too crowded or the kids were crabby we could just come back another day. We have a lot of good memories as a family there. The premium pass is now $429 and the deluxe is $289. How prices go up at Disney. Are you planning on visiting one of them one day?
Take care all. |

149.4 this morning, dang it! Too much food yesterday I guess. Not a problem, still under 150 so I can feel good about that. I'll just keep on staying NFNS and away from snacks and I know over time I will get back down.
K10, Debbie was the one that asked about Disney. I was confused when I said I went to Disney Land, I went to Disney World in Florida. I would love to back to Epcot.
I have got a bad case of the lazy's today. The sky is very overcast and it's chilly. The fireplace is going and I just want to curl up with a book. But no can do! I'm toddler free this week so I need to take advantage of it and finish the ironing and clean the bathrooms. Ok, I just talked myself into it. Great day all. |

I saw The Blind Side this weekend. It was very good. My only critisism is they had her wearing her skirts too tight. Loved her Southern accent. I was watching First Wives Club movie on tv last night and saw Kathie Lee in it. She either has lost a lot of weight or has had a lot of facelift surgery. She looked much older in that movie. I love her clothes and Hoda's and always like to see what they are wearing on tv. I like the fact that they repeat the outfits sometimes. I do think its weird to wear sleeveless clothes in cold weather, though. I would freeze.
I had a mammogram yesterday. First time in several years to have one. I have a friend who kept bugging me to make the appt. I think whoever said women should not do self exams is nuts. |

Good morning, company gone. It all worked out fine and it was nice to visit. My cousin was actually here for a follow up exam as he has been dealing with retina detachment. He said it started with an untreated cataract he had. I was so surprised because he is 8 years younger than me.
Going to my "girls night out" groups Christmas party. We are all bringing appetizers. I haven't decided what to bring yet I better get on the ball. There are lots of options for NFNS but I am trying to figure out what I can make without having to go to town for groceries. |

And K10, I hope your daughter feels better. My daughter is feeling great...she went shopping today and spent all her money. Tomorrow I'm going to the mall to with her. I will be in and out of there as fast as humanly possible! Just a few things to get. Well, I'm off to bed. BTW, I read a short story on my home page about the new Biggest Loser season. They will have their heaviest contestants yet! They had to get special exercise equipment. The writer of the story said he or she had lost 70 pounds watching the show. Wow! I don't know how long it took, but it is another inspirational story about weight loss. Sweet dreams all. |

For those of you with relatives with Celiac disease, I just bought some new Progresso soups today at WalMart that are gluten free. Creamy Mushroom, Chicken Cheese Enchilada, Garden Vegetable, Potato Broccoli and Cheese Chowder. The garden vegetable has 4 grams of sugar, and the rest are 2 grams of sugar. Also at WalMart, Classico Sun Dried Tomato pasta sauce is gluten free and 2 grams of sugar. Very good with the Tinkyada organic brown rice pasta spirals. I am making that for my mom and I tomorrow. She has Celiac and I am her cook, since she has Alzheimer's. I am thrilled to find these items. |

Fex-Ex just dropped off a Turducken at my door. It's packed in dry ice. My BIL sent it to us for Christmas. Ever heard of it? Ever have one?
It's a Turkey, Duck and Chicken all in one. It's partially deboned. They put a duck inside a Turkey. Then they put a chicken inside the duck and stuff it with sausage stuffing. Cajungrocer makes it. I guess I'll need to visit the web site to see what I do with it.

Wow, Debbie you are going to be so in vogue, eh! Yes I know people who have cooked turduckens but I haven't ever done so myself. There is a speciality meat shop here that does them and my friend said she paid $275 for hers. Didn't this come into more popularity because of the Julia Childs movie. |

Morning! 150 on the dot this morning. I guess I did overdo it yesterday. Oh well. Everything was NFNS and tasted great. Time for a shower and a trip to the mall. I have a splitting headache. I really really dislike the mall. But it must be done. Daughter wants me to go see New Moon as well. Not today I think.
Hilda, my sister always had to shop at the health food store, 30 miles away, for her gluten free foods. Recently she found her local grocery store has devoted a whole section to gluten free items. She called me immediately...she was so excited! Darn that toast Debbie! It just slides right down doesn't it? Oh well, just move on. I've heard of the Turducken. It kind of creeps me out though. Probably tastes wonderful.
Ok, great day and great eating ladies. |

Determine to have fun building a meaningful life. This adventure does not have to be a chore. I do enjoy finding new recipes and foods to try that I haven't eaten in the past. It's fun to try on smaller clothing and styles you couldn't wear before. It's fun to get together in person with a group of like minded people. I think we should all try to get with some real life people this year and support each other in person. That could make all the difference in staying accountable. Go to your health food store and see if they will let you post a meeting place and meet for coffee or tea in a public place and see what kind of response you get. Put a notice in your church bulletin. You might make some new friends who would be encouragers and keep you accountable, exercise with you, etc. I want to do this! |

This is the kind of morning I have had:
Remember how I have my washer hose going out into the yard? As to not fill the limping septic system with washer water? Well, the hose frooze and the washer didn't empty. So I went out and put the hose into an empty garbage can and then put the can under the dryer vent and turned it on. OK, it thawed. So I finished the washer cycle where I was cleaning my bathroom rugs. I go to take them out and they are totally disintegrated there in the washer. So now I have to clean out the washer! The rubber backs must have been too old to take another washing.
Tomorrow is the last day of the grading period and the kids will be home for more than 2 weeks. Good thing tomorrow is payday. I know they will want me to run them all over creation.

Debbie: my friends husband was into the whole Turduckin thing a couple of years ago. He is a really good cook too. I am not a big duck fan, but I would definitely try it. That was nice of your BIL to send it to you. Sorry about the rug thing. I have had that happen and it makes such a mess. You are so clever with putting the hose in the trash can under the vent to heat it up.
Connie: Sorry about the headache and having to go to the mall. That alone can give someone a headache at this time of year.
Hilda: I don't remember how I was involved in a weight loss Bible study at my old church? Maybe we can check into churches in our area to see about that????
Taking sick kid to the doctor today. Her throat still really hurts. I am so bummed because she has missed 3 days now and she only has tomorrow and Friday left to make up things and then she is off for 2 weeks. I wonder what this will do to her grades??? |

K10 it seems like your daughter has sore throats a lot. I wonder if she has allergies. Actually my daughter had terrible sore throats and tonsellitis for years. When she was little the Dr. said if she has one more she is going to have to have her tonsils out. Well that went on for ever and she ended up demanding to have her tonsils out in grade 11. She had chronic large tonsils and constant sore throats.
Don't know why but I ended up just eating whatever they had last night at our party. It wasn't even necessary nor did I particularly crave it. I think I just wanted to not be making any big deal over dieting or weight.....I am the heaviest one and they know I am constantly on a diet without success. today right back to NFNS and no problem with that. |

Made it home from the mall. How exhausting! Daughter tried on about 30 dresses. She stated tearing up at one point. She is too big for most size 14 dresses. That takes her out of the juniors dept and into ladies. That cut the selection way down since she doesn't like most of the styles. We finally found one. I talked to her about how her body size today is only temporary if she wants to change it. Poor thing, she has huge knees and ankles. Only so much you can do there. But in the good news department, she had a good semester. Grades are coming in and so far her lowest grade is a C in physics. She needs to watch that since physics is her minor. I am sitting and resting for the remainder of the day.
Bronwyn, food and socializing go hand and hand for you. Do you think the better the social time the tastier the foods you chose to eat? I know when I get excited I reach for food. It's feels like getting happier on top of happy. Make sense? K10, glad about your daughter feeling better. Everyone in this house has had tonsils out and much healthier because of it. |

I had my tonsils out when I was 4. That was what they did back then. She has large tonsils, but doesn't seem to have strep as often as my youngest. Oldest does have allergies and I think that is some of it. Her Zyrtec doesn't seem to be helping this year, but we did move and I am sure we have some different things triggering her. I think she just had a cold and fortunately she is going back to school tomorrow and she has done all the work she was able to get online from her teachers.
Bronwyn: This time of year has so much to do with food. January is my starting point yet again, but I am ok with it. I will focus on portion size and eat less treats than I normally would have.
Connie: I am glad you survived the mall and that your daughter found a dress. I am glad she did well in school this semester. That is an accomplishment. |

Connie I have to admit that going to the mall is the last thing in the world I want to do at this point in time. It is even impossible to find a parking spot. Last year there were a few stores that stayed open 24 hours a day for Christmas shopping. I went shopping at midnight a few nights. I actually am not even going to have to do that this year....I am done.
K10 my daughter has a really difficult sleeping...always struggled with that (geesh just like her Mum, eh). Apparently large tonsils make night breathing more laboured or difficult and then when you have the removed you may continue to breathe with the same pattern as previously.
Debbie sorry about the frustrations with the septic field but aren't you the clever fix it and make it work person, eh

Hello all, Speaking of daughters. Two of mine are a bit overweight. And one is just like I was, not an ounce of fat. My son used to be a little heavy but has slimmed down nicely. I feel bad for my girls. I know their pain as an adult but can only imagin their pain as a child. (11 and 14)They are beautiful girls (said like a mom)but I can see their struggles.
It's payday today so I will be out banking (credit unioning) and paying bills (with cash!!!)
I'm feeling really fat today. I needed a new bra as a few of them bit the dust all at once, strangely. I was forced to go to the dressing room yesterday. I didn't want to get upset so I just told myself I would look in the mirrow as little as possible. I tried on 12 bras to finally find only 1 that fit. Now here is the wierd part. I put them all back even the one that fit and got it in a size smaller around the rib cage. In the event that I lost more weight, I didn't want my new bra to be too big. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT? So until I lose weight I will be wearing a tight bra. That makes no sence. I don't know why I didn it. I'm tired of trying to figure out my strange self.
I'll check in later. Nice to hear from you Kathy. |

And I have a meeeeeeesly 50 to lose. What's my problem? Determination. Where does determination come from? Am I not determined? Apparentlty not. Do I not want to be thin? Maybe I don't care. But I do care! Then why don't I do it? I know what to do. I KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!! |

149.4 this morning. Hey, what happened to posting our weight?
Geez Hilda! Your post was so matter of fact...my spine was curling when I read it. I have to have 2 new crowns to replace two old crowns. But insurance will not kick in for them. So I'm putting them off till 2010. Maybe they will help then . We'll see. I have to have them asap.
Ok Debbie, some people say it is motivating to have something to loss down to. I think you should have bought two bras, on to loss down to and one that fit. Get one that fits and be comfortable. You deserve a bra that fits!
I really want to talk to my daughter openly about her weight. I will when I think she can take it in. She, and my son, have inherited their fathers side of the family body type. My husband didn't, but my children did. My daughter more than my son. Short and stocky. Legs that are large all the way down. It is a nightmare for a girl. But she really is digging in at school and that is her priority. Her major is electrical engineering. She has nothing but math, math and advanced math in her future. Oh, and physics. So I will counsel her some, but I can't overwhelm her. She does know the basics, but then she is limited with her options since she lives in a dorm. Yesterday we talked a bit about liposuction. She is the reason they invented it! No amount of dieting and exercise will make her legs contoured enough. Of course those things would help overall, but I am thinking I may spring for some plastic surgery. I want her to have a better shape over all. Disturbingly, she has developed a double chin and her waist is larger. Those do respond to diet and exercise.
Time to pay bills, Yuck! |

Funny I felt the same way when I read Hilda's post. Dental stuff really freaks me out so I would have had to go on a little bit about my fears. Not only fear of dental work but of how expensive it is and we have never had any coverage.
Well my son has the stomach flu. We so seldom get stomach sickness.....usually head flu stuff. I hate the stomach flu and something like that usually goes through a house hold. I hope it was something he ate.....he ate out last night.
Stayed NFNS all day yesterday after my night of indulgence (not really that bad even at that) the night before at the girls night out....plus I will be NFNS today. I don't post my weight because honestly there isn't any thing to post when in 2 weeks I have only have lost 1/2 lb.
My friend and her husband separated and are heading toward a divorce. He is a very narcissitic (spelling) man...seriously, and he has been very cruel to her. They were married 29 years and I never liked the man I think she will be much happier without him but, she is terribly hurt and thinks she still loves him. Anyways the upside is that she has lost 45 lbs. I still don't plan to leave my husband |

I am back from the dentist and it wasn't so bad. He was able to somehow cut the bridge apart and I am still very very numb. I have to wait a month to see if I need a crown. If I can put it off, I will. I absolutely HATE going to the dentist. Got a good report on the mammogram, so that is a praise report! Hated getting that too, but it was not as bad as I remembered in the past. I will weigh in again on Saturday. |
