He said if it wasn't a food 100 years ago, it's not a real food. Good to remember. |

Debbie I live in Western Canada and Quebec is in the East. We are taught both French and English in school but mostly in the West not that many people are fluent. In fact in the West we are more likely to resent that French is kind of pushed down our throats. The french have long threatened to separate from Canada with protest after protest and being given all kinds of special treatment as a result. They want to separate but have all of the privileges as well. I don't know.....Quebec is such a beautiful place and it truly feels like a foreign country in some of the cities. The deal there is that they want to push French down our throats way out West but don't want to equally respect English there. I don't know if this is still the case but store owners have been fined for having any English signs in their stores.....even if we are forced to have both. Like when you call a gov't number you always get French first. IN fact to be a gov't employee you often have to be bilingual, even if you are no where close to a big French population. |

Please buy the Melatonin Bronwyn. I wasnt expecting to like it so much. Take it two hours before you would like to be sleepy. It won't make you go to sleep but it will help you stay asleep and sleep deeper. There is no hang over in the morning but it seems like when its time to wake up you wake from a very deep place. I hope it works for you. |

I would love to visit Cananda but I hear it so much more expensive there than here in Indiana. Lets compare some basic things.
Indiana: Gallon of milk 1.49 - 2.50 Gallon of gasoline 2.64 dozen eggs .94
I'm sure California is different as well as the East coast and Canada. I'd like to hear what these things cost in your area.

My situation is so complicated yet possibly simple. I may have been putting the cart before the horse when all the time my horse was pulling the cart.
For years I have had depression. It seemed to me I was medication resistant. Never really getting the relief I thought I should have. Yet I continued to try several different kinds and continue to take one at this time. Two yeaers ago a brain tumor was discovered. The thought immediately came to me that the tumor could be causing my depression? The neurosurgeon promptly said no. He asked me if my personality had changed. I didn't really know what he meant so I said no. He then asked my husband in private if my personality had changed. He thought my husbands answer might be different if he answered without me there. Husband said no. The Doc was amazed that I could have a tumor that big and which caused that much swelling on my brain and not have a personality change. I had the surgery to remove the tumor, all went well. I need to keep watch as this type of tumor comes back if all the cells were not removed. So far so good. Side note: Before the discovery of my tumor I used to go to a psychiatrist for my antidepressants. He did not do tharapy. Although he thought I would benefit from tharapy with a thearapist, which I ddn't do. After the tumor was removed I just asked my family doc to refill the script for Cymbalta that the psych doc had originally written, and he did.
So, we go back to this Psych Doc for my son, to se about the possibility of ADD. I hadn't seen him in over two years so I quickly caught him up on my brain tumor situation. I asked him if he thought the tumor could have caused my depression and he said YES!!!!!!!! I was shocked. I am now wondering if the sleepiness, laziness and foggy brain I have is coming from the Cymbalta. Maybe my depression is gone and I'm just experiencing the side effects of this medicine I don't need anymore.
What do you think? I know I neee to get my own appointment with said Psych doc to talk it over and think about weaniing from the meds. Do you all think this may be a possibility? I'm so excited to think that I may be able to get back to my old normal felf. Maybe by summer time I can be off this medication. It takes a while to wean off.
I know his is so off topic but I think it might relate to weight gain some how. Depression and weight gain go hand in hand sometimes as does weight gain with some medication.
Any thoughts are welcome.

Debbie, I think are on to something. I tried so many different anti depressants before I found one that worked for me. Although there are some general tendencies with each one, everyone is going to react differently. My friend just changed hers. She said she was hungry all the time and gaining weight. Since she switched she has lost 4 lbs. Another thing you might consider is low hormone levels. You may be peri menopause. |

Just a quick hi – I am at work right now. I absolutely love tracking my calories – thank you so much Connie for suggesting I track my calories for awhile. Cute story actually, I logged all my food for today this morning and to my surprise any dressing on my salad for lunch was bringing me in the red …. LOL So I ate my salad with just plain tuna and grapes, and no dressing. There is no way I would have done this prior to tracking my calories – if this was last week I would have used dressing. This has really been an eye opener.
The good news is after I ate my lunch a coworker and I took a brisk walk for 20 minutes. So now I have extra calories if I wish to eat them later.

Debbie, I think something as traumatic as a tumor, and one in your brain which houses millions of electrical impulses all day long and neurons firing off that it would have to have an impact on your state of mind and your thought processes thus possibly leading to depression. I would suggest doing research on the internet to see if depression is a symptom of a tumor. I bet you will find that it can affect mood. Can you remember your personality and state of mind before the tumor? Were you happier you think..more content? Just wondering.
I can relate to the hormonal changes as I will be 48 years old next month and I can get very flustered over the smallest thing. And I hate that. But what I have noticed is when I stay away from the flours and sugars my mood is so much better. It’s like I am in a good mood for no apparent reason…LOL

It was really hard to be away at first, but I was able to stay off of here and Facebook for the entire month on February. Those were the 2 ways I ended up fasting.
My family is back on track as far as eating goes, as of TODAY. I went and bought a ton of produce.
I haven't had a chance to read all of the posts. I hope I can read at least some of them.
If you are new in the last month, will you please give me a quick update so I know something about you?
Debbie: I think you may be right in regards to your depression and meds. I sure hope so. Here are my price comparisons. I am in Southern California. Gal of milk: $2.49(Sam's Club)-$2.69 (Fresh and Easy) Gal of gas: $2.81 (Sam's Club)-$2.89-$2.93 (ARCO) some stations are over $3.00. Dozen eggs:$1.89 or more I usually buy 5 dozen for $7.50 or so. Debbie I think you need to really explore these things you are concerned and wondering about. It is so frustrating that one Dr. says one thing and another says another thing....how are we suppose to know who is right. Go see the psychiatrist he was the first one to diagnose and prescribe,,,,,I think that is your best bet.
Prices are way different in my area of the country,,,,and forgive me but I don't remember the exact price but this is close:
4 litres of milk....$4.49 (that is like a gallon) 1 litre of gas........94 cents...so X4= $3.76 or so a gallon dozen eggs.....I buy organic free range @ $5.39(I never throw the yolk out like so many diet programs suggest).....omega 3 eggs about $3.75.....regular maybe $2.75
Welcome back K10....good to hear from you!
I really want to have a good weigh in on Friday. I haven't been weighing and measuring my food as meticulously as previous....need to bump that up. Need to start some exercise............

Tammy I know a lot of people on here are not in favour of counting calories and that is great if it works for them not to. It isn't that I really want to have to count the points or calories but it does help me. I think after years of dieting and binging and so forth I am not in tune with hunger or fullness. The points are an artificial way for me to be in tune with hunger and fullness.....I know at the points I can have a day that I should be eating that much and no more. I know I am not hungry when I make good choices with my points....there are times I haven't done that and I was more hungry. The other thing I have been successful at is ignoring boredom eating, stress eating or just over eating by monitoring my points.....if I don't have any points left I don't eat. I know for me without counting points I could always justify a snack even if I should not have had one. This may sound weird but that is how it is working for me. |

Hi, Everyone! I'm new here and have been enjoying your blogs. I started this eating plan on Ash Wednesday, 12 days ago. I figured that, no matter how much I might want to cheat, I certainly wouldn't want to mess with Lent! I weighed myself last Sunday and had lost 3 pounds yesterday (a week later). Because of the "tons of snow" here in the mid-Atlantic, I haven't been able to get out and walk. I know my weight will really drop once I start exercising. Thanks for being here; it's nice to have "partners in crime," so to speak. The hardest part for me is that I'm an organic vegetarian, and most edibles for me are carbs, although I'm not a big sugar fan. I don't do much dairy (except for cheese), and I really don't care for tofu. Vegetable and lentil soups, oatmeal with apples, nuts, and cinnamon, and salads are my mainstay. My biggest vice is blue cheese dressing, which I really enjoy. One question: is sprouted wheat acceptable? Thanks for listening! |

I'm sad. My lovebird Rainbow died. I just found her. I think she was about 9 years old. She was fiesty and lovey. She was very protective of her home when she had eggs. She let us hold her and give her a bath in the sink. We tried to entertain her by changing the toys in her cage and give her things to chew on. I got her at yard sale of all places. They told me she was 6 months old. I had been thinking about getting a bird and suddenly here she was, for sale. They thought she was a boy because he was so lovey and then she started to lay eggs! She was a Peach Faced Lovebird. Brilliant orange head, green body and a cobalt blue tail. By the time she died she had mutated to almost no green, mostly yellow and speckled with orange. I think one day she overheard me say my favorite color was yellow and she was trying to please me. I think one of my favorite memories will be thinking of her wrapped up in a paper towel after her bath. Her little head peeking out while waiting to dry off. We will miss you Rainbow. SUGAR’S EFFECT ON THE IMMUNE SYSTEM Let’s face it. We have become a society addicted to sugar. It’s standard fare in our modern diet because it’s so prevalent in the various foods we purchase at the grocery store. And, just because we can’t taste sugar in our food doesn’t mean that there isn’t an abundance of sugar in it. That’s why it’s important to monitor our sugar intake by learning to read food labels and by eating more organic, raw foods rather than processed foods. Various studies have shown that the consumption of large amounts of sugar can significantly affect the body’s immune system. In fact, sugar, even in small quantities can suppress the immune system’s functioning. And, when our immune system, as well as the body’s other organs, glands, and systems are compromised by sugar, it can leave us vulnerable to a host of different conditions, illnesses, and diseases including the following: Diabetes Bacterial and yeast infections Hypoglycemia Premature aging Cancer Chronic fatigue Mineral deficiencies or imbalances in the body Obesity High cholesterol Arthritis Migraines Constipation How does sugar break down the immune system? Simple sugars suppress the vitality of white blood cells and impede their ability to engulf harmful bacteria in the body. In fact, studies have shown that as sugar intake increases, the ability of white blood cells to destroy pathogens in the body decreases. In addition, sugar makes the blood more acidic, which, in turn, makes the body more vulnerable to viruses and bacteria. These are some of the reasons why people who consume large quantities of sugar are often plagued more frequently with colds, flu, and other infections. Just think about the amount of sugar that families consume around the fall holidays and you begin to understand why colds are so prevalent during that time of year. |

Hi ladies. To the new ladies here are some things about me:
I live in Southern California, I turned 40 in October, I have a husband of 20 years, two teen daughters. Whom I refer to as Oldest and Youngest. I was really good with NFNS last year for at least 3 or 4 months. Then I strayed some. Then I strayed ALOT I lost about 20 pounds while I was committed. I had given up Pepsi for 11 months last year and now I have given it up again. I gained back all but 5 pounds. I am starting back fresh on NFNS and I am looking forward to it. Hubby has been diagnosed with high blood pressure and so we are both very committed. He doesn't want to have to take meds.
Debbie: So sorry about your bird. I always love my pets like family, so I know what you are feeling.
I am not going to be buying Ezekiel bread though, because it is just so expensive. I am going to try to not eat bread, but if I do, it will be one slice of whole wheat bread, which my kids eat. I know it has flour in it, but I really ate too much Ezekiel anyway. I wanted to check and see if there are no salt Triscuits and if I want NFNS PB&J I could smear a little bit of that on the Triscuits.
I need to go now. Have a great day ladies.

YHi K10. You're right, Ezekiel bread's expensive, but I like that I can keep a loaf in the freezer and just have a slice every now and then. Being in the freezer it's kind of out of sight, out of mind. Lasts me a lot longer so I don't feel as bad spending the extra money on it. I was happy to discover this week that Triscuits are nfns. I think there are no-salt versions out there.

I only buy 100% whole wheat. I just know that if I have the Ezekiel available right now I will eat it too much. I always kept it in the freezer too. I actually still have some Ezekiel raisin bread in the freezer. I did see that Triscuits have a cracker with just a little bit of salt. I may try those.
I really get frustrated with the "nutrition" experts. They really had been praising Agave nectar and now they aren't. I was wondering if there was something that needed to be sweetened should we just use 100% juice? Orange, pineapple, apple, etc. I still think sugar is probably better than any substitute. It is frustrating though.
I am going to try and read some of the old posts. Have a good night. |

Hilda I have been reading about agave for a couple of years now trying to determine if it is healthy or not......of course there are opposing opinions but I tend to think it isn't particularly healthy. I just read an article also indicating that it has a composition similar to HFCS. This is what the article suggested: if you require a concentrated sweetener, I have some recommendations for some better options to use instead of agave: (Listed in order of preference.)
1. Use ripe fresh fruits. Ripe fruits contain nutrients, fiber and water, a complete package, as nature intended. I find that ripe and organic fruits are usually sweetest.
2. Use fresh whole stevia leaves. Stevia is an herb that actually tastes sweet but contains no sugar. This herb can be very hard to find fresh, so I personally grow my own. If fresh leaves are not available, get the whole dried leaves or the whole leaf powder. Avoid the white stevia powder and the stevia liquid drops as they have been highly processed.
3. Use dried fruits. If you need a “syrup” consistency, just soak the dried fruits in some water and blend them up with the same soak water. Dates, figs, and prunes are some of the sweetest dried fruits that tend to work well in recipes. Try wet Barhi dates blended with a little water for an amazing maple syrup substitute. Please note: Since there are no raw labeling standards, some dried fruit may be dried at higher than 118 degrees, and thus, not really raw. If you want to ensure you are eating really raw dried fruit, it is best do dehydrate it yourself.
4. Raw Honey is a concentrated sweetener, and although not recommended, in my opinion it is better than agave syrup because it is a whole food and occurs naturally in nature. Of course, honey is not vegan and that may be a concern for some. I recommend purchasing local honey from a beekeeper. |

K10,,,,read the ingredients on your 100% whole wheat bread.....the label 100% can be deceiving. Here is a list of the ingredients on one:
a package of Arnold 100% Whole Wheat Bread:
“Whole Wheat Flour, Water, Gluten, High Fructose Corn Syrup, Yeast, Cracked Wheat, Salt, Partially Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Molasses, Raisin Juice Concentrate, Ethoxylated Mono-And Diglycerides Calcium Propionate (Preservative), Honey, Soy Lecithin.”
This bread would be a poor choice because of all the bad stuff in it even though it says 100% whole wheat.....so just check it out |

I just glanced over the last months posts. It is hard to do that because I think of something I want to say and then realize it is a month ago. I forget who said they used to live in California, where did you live?
Bronwyn: Here are the ingredients on the bread the kids are eating right now. whole wheat flour water honey gluten 2% or less of: soy oil, yeast,cracked-wheat,salt,molasses,calcium sulfate, datem, ammonium sulfate, enzymes, ascorbic acid, azodicarbonamide(ada), raisin paste, rye flakes, and calcium propionate (to preserve freshness) At least it doesn't have hydrogenated oils or high fructose corn syrup. Those about the only pluses I can say about it.
The only thing I really use that has Splenda in it is my reduced sugar ketchup by Heinz. I don't use it often, but I thought it might be better than the high fructose corn syrup.
I just don't know anymore. Good night again. |

I had no idea what azodicaronamide was so I checked it out: If you eat bread from a fast food restaurant, you should ask yourself the following questions: What is azodicarbonamide? Why is it in my bread? Why should I avoid it? They’re all good questions, so let’s answer them one at a time.
Q: What is azodicarbonamide?
It is a chemical whose primary use is “in the production of foamed plastics.” In the United States it is also used as a food additive and flour bleaching agent.
Q: Why is it in my bread?
According to Mark Rubi, the former baker and owner of The Lick Skillet Bakery in Boulder, Colorado, the answer is “I don’t know.” He says, “The necessary ingredients in bread are pretty basic. You need flour, water, yeast, and salt for sure. And then maybe add a little olive oil for dough consistency and a little sugar to get the yeast going. Anything else you add should just be for flavoring.” He goes on to add, “It’s strange, I look at the commercial breads available these days and the ingredient lists are scary. Take fast food, for example, the typical bun at a fast food burger chain has 20 or more chemicals in addition to the main ingredients! Is this really something I want to be eating?”
On top of that it has been banned for use in food in many countries together with steep fines if anyone is found using it. Okay......this is ridiculous.....what is the mass production of food by these food companies doing to our long term health. I get so discouraged when I research different things and find out stuff like this. This makes Ezekial look worth the money. I am going to check out their ingredients once more. We know all we need to make bread is flour, yeast, salt........so why does the bread have so many ingredients. |

Bronwyn: I can find it for $3.50-$4.50 or so. The bread I have been buying has been on sale lately and now I know why. Great, I am feeding my kids poison. I think I will have to go back to Ezekiel or a Trader Joe's variation. My youngest will only eat wheat bread without seeds or texture. Does anyone know of one? I will just have to keep looking. Thanks for freaking me out this morning. |

Ladies, I am feeling a little brighter today. 3rd day in a row the sun was out! We are looking forward to 45 degrees this weekend. My husband called and asked if we could walk together every night. He said we would start with 30 minutes. Wow, how nice that I don't have to be the initiator. My house is a wreck, as usual, but today I looked at it with new eyes. Like maybe it wasn't so big a job to make some improvements. I think I'll be giving the credit to my lower dose of Cymbalta. For the last couple weeks I have been opening up my capsuels and pouring some of the little balls out. The withdrawl has been minimal. So far so good. My Doc called and said he would write a script for a lower dose. It jumps from 60 to 30 mg. THAT is crazy. I would have sooooooo many withdrawl symptoms if I did that. I'm hoping to wean down to the 30 more slowly to adjust and stay sane. I know some of you are thinking that the Doctor surely knows better. But HA! They do not fully understand what happens to a person reducing too fast from SSRI's. How could they know? The drug companies have only rescently started even admitting that there were withdrawl symptoms. Dont worry girls I have researched this plenty. I made a huge mistake years ago when I went off of Zoloft cold turkey. Wow, the side effects were horrible to say the least. Took 3 weeks to start to feel better. I guess all that was too much information. Just wanted to let you know I was feeling a little less foggy headed and don't have the urg to sleep all the time. Off to clean the house and do laundry. |

K10, I feel the same way. Thats why I feel paralized in the grocery store. I know too much! I feel like the only thing I can feed my family is fruit veggies and nuts without worrying and even then I can't just buy what is there. It has to be organic. I heard on TV if you were to buy only a couple organic things which would be the most important. I think one was potatoes. Maybe apples was the other one. Shoot, I can't remember now. |

Debbie: You will have to make one of your trips be out to California. I hope you can get another one. There is a place in our town that sells pop-top VW Vanagons and Euro Vans. We have always wanted either one of those. I told my hubby the other day, that when the kids are through with college we should sell everything and buy one and just travel wherever we want to. We could be Christian hippies. For some reason that just sounds fun to me. He is really burnt out at work and he wishes it could happen today.
Bronwyn: I bought some Ezekiel bread. It is the red labled one called 7 Sprouted Grains. They didn't have the 4:9 today. Ingredients: *Organic Sprouted Wheat, Filtered Water, *Organic Malted Barley, *Organic Sprouted Rye, * Organic Srouted Barley, *Organic Sprouted Oats, *Organic Sprouted Millet, *Organic Sprouted Corn, *Organic Sprouted Brown Rice, Fresh Yeast, Organic Wheat Gluten, Sea Salt. On the label it says there is 1 gram of sugar. I wonder if that is from the corn? I wonder if gluten is not NFNS??? It says flourless still.
Ezekiel 4:9™ Sprouted Grain Bread Ingredients: *Organic Sprouted Wheat, *Organic Sprouted Barley, *Organic Sprouted Millet, Malted Barley, *Organic Sprouted Lentils, *Organic Sprouted Soybeans, *Organic Spelt, Filtered Water, Fresh Yeast, Sea Salt.

Afternoon all.
Debbie, I also heard that apples were one of the top things to make sure to buy organic... I'm pretty good, but not 100% organic, so I worry about the pesticides/carcinogens. Glad to hear you're feeling better.
Today is day 3 of no sugarfree items. I'm feeling less hungry overall, which is nice. Yesterday for some reason I ate a ton of protein and not much else, which left me feeling quite full.
I also read a little bit about agave and got different things from different sources. I was excited about it about 6 weeks ago, but now I feel like it's actually pretty bad.
good day all. |

K10....you make laundry detergent? How do you do that?
Debbie I am glad you are feeling better. That would be so nice if you could get a new camping trailer.
Bear I also understand that apples is one we should buy organic and I usually do but not really any other fruit except, occasionally. I haven't thought potatoes was one of the items to buy organic in fact you seldom see organic potatoes. I would buy all organic if I could but, then there is evidence that there is reason to doubt some of the organic claims as well.
I have a 20$ bottle of Agave in glass sitting on my counter.....I use it seldom and I have little faith in it actually. When it is gone I don't think I will buy more. |

Oh my gosh, I can 'chime in' on the fruits and vegetables you should buy organic.
I recently gave a $5 donation to Environmental Working Group (EWG) to get a magnet for refrigerator that is the Shopper's Guide to Pesticides and it lists the "Dirty Dozen" ... these are the ones you should buy organic. Listed in order from the worst to the best (meaning #1 is the worst). Here goes:
1. Peach 2. Apple 3. Bell Pepper 4. Celery 5. Nectarine 6. Strawberries 7. Cherries 8. Kale 9. Lettuce 10. Grapes (Imported) 11. Carrots 12. Pear
EWG is a panel of experts that use their own lab tests to expose threats to our health and the environment.
If interested I could type the Clean 15 - the Lowest in Pesticides. That is on the magnet too.

It just makes me so mad that we can't eat "clean" without having to really fight for it. What the heck! It is so discouraging. If I spend too much time thinking about all of the terrible things that we do to ourselves, or have done to us, I get pretty upset because ultimately it comes down to how much money someone somewhere is making and that is the bottom line...not our health. I did just read somewhere that buying organic is a waste of money because the standards are not what they should be.
I have been crazy busy again. Next week will be crazy busy as well. Then maybe I can have some more free time. Although I never feel like I really have free time. Daughter is home this week so she has been using my car, not an easy thing to go without. Then she's off for spring break next week. We should be strangling each other by then! I went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned (they feel all smooth!) and the hygienist told me she is expecting her first child. She is sad that her mother passed away before her wedding and now, pregnancy. She said her and her mother were not close, but they got along ok. And I said my daughter and I are close but don't get along at all. Enough said there.
My diet has been so so at best. What the heck has happened to me! My how the mighty have fallen. I can still squeeze into my size 10's, but I'm back to looking like a working girl in them. So I'm wearing baggy 12's until I get this extra 8-10 pounds off. I still feel good, and maybe I'll stay at this weight. I'm certainly not doing anything about it. But I want to eat as healthy as I can. I keep thinking about HFCS and how it's in everything. Luckily, I am still a kind of picky eater and that helps. |

When my kids were little I remember my mother in law scoffing at the fact that I pealed my kids apples all the time. Its not that I didnt want them to have the skin. I just felt like there were chmicals on the skin I couldn't wash off. Do you suppose the chemicals got into the meat of the apple too? |

I only buy apples organic ... and actually get them pre-sliced from Trader Joe's. I ate grapes this week from Chile.
When I get home I will type the lowest in pesticides. I didn't have the time last night (sorry guys).

Debbie, I don't know. I would think the highest concentration of chemicals would be on the outside of the apple. I wouldn't worry.
Connie, you were the one who really motivated me on here..surprised to read you are doing so-so. I know you'll get to where you want to be. You are a very strong person. And size 10 jeans, I would die to wear size 10. I just want to get back in my 12's. LOL Just curious, how does your daughter eat? My 21 year old daughter eats horrible.
Take care all, have a good day. ~Tammy

Morning everyone. Oh, I'm plopped up in bed with my coffee and my laptop...so good! Today I have more control over my day so I am feeling more serene than I have in the last couple of days. Ironing and some housework for the most part today and then possibly babysitting for a couple of hours. My only problem is I am out of food and need to grocery shop and I'm without a car. I will figure something out for dinner tonight.
I have tried to figure out what has changed in my life/mindset that has caused me to become so sloppy in my diet. I guess it just boils down to my schedule being off and my frustration with how I am spending my time. Really, I am mostly NFNS, but when I get into situations where eating right is difficult, I go for convenience. A fair weather NFNS girl I guess! I don't know, I have a lot of people depending on me for different things and shopping/eating is taking the brunt. It's a temporary situation. I'll try harder to stay on track. |

Bronwyn: I made my own detergent for the first time. My friend has done it for a while and it sure will save money if it works. The weird thing is, there are no bubbles so I feel like it isn't doing its job. I will let you know what I think of it. Would you let me know how you make your bread? Do you use a bread maker? We finally got rid of ours after all this time, but now I am regretting it. Where do you get your grains?
Connie: I feel the same way about not being able to eat "clean". We buy healthy foods and then have to worry about pesticides. UUGGHH!! |

Hey Tammy I am trying to give up excuses and go for results Tomorrow is my weigh in and I am nervous, so far I have had some weight loss each week and I so want to keep that going.
You know as I see how long it is taking me, and how hard it is to get rid of this same weight again......I just don't ever want to let myself see the scales at this weight again. I think by tomorrow's weigh-in I will be down 10-11 lbs. I should have never had that weight to lose in the first place.....it was stupid weight above and beyond my already super fat weight......you know what I mean In fact I havae a good 10-15 lbs. yet to lose before I am back to a decent starting place for weight loss. Debbie....this time we are taking it off and keeping it off....OKAY!!!
Connie you have been so crazy busy and it is harder to focus on your eating when you are crazy busy. Things will turn around and you will get back on but, rejoice with your present weight.....I long to be where you are at, BUT, hey I am going to be. I figure it will take at least a year to get where you are. So what,,,,,better to be there in a year than here or heavier yet. |

K10...I used to make a lovely organic hand soap....I loved it, it was so nice. I make all the body soap we used in the house for a couple of years. Then some how I got out of the habit and haven't gone back to doing it. My soap was actually pretty expensive because I used organic oils and high quality essential oils for scents....but it was divine soap. You made me think about making soap again.
K10 at this point I don't really make bread but, I am going to. I want a dehydrator so I can sprout my grains and dry them. |

Hilda, have you tried olive leaf extract in capsule form? It's a natural antibiotic that cleans up the remainder of your infections following the pharmaceutical antibiotic. Also, lysine is an immune system booster. Both can be found in health food stores, healthy groceries, Vitamin Shop, etc. I'm NEVER sick, even though I teach middle schoolers who are always sneezing, coughing, wheezing, and sniffling. Sometimes it sounds like a hospital ward in my room! Also, drink lots of lemon water to flush out the leftover infection. If you live anywhere near a beach, sniffing the salt air has real healing powers. Hope this helps. |

Bronwyn, you are so right headed right now. Right where you need to be and I am so happy to hear your positive words. Yes, I know my current state of affairs is temporary, but I could be doing a better job dealing with it. I have to get right headed myself! This year will fly by and I suspect you will lose more weight than you think.
Hilda, bronchitis is no fun. Get lots of rest. You could take something to help you dry up your sinuses, but only if that's ok when you have bronchitis. Can you call your doc and ask? I am so afraid of meds...I always check with docs about what I can take safely. |
