That was sweet Debbie.
The funeral today was so beautiful. I learned so much that I never knew before about the woman that had died. She was such an amazing woman. Although it was very sad because she died young and left behind 4 children and a husband it was such a celebration of her life. It was a large funeral and there was such a feeling of love, caring and compassion. There were many things of comfort for the family. I left with such a feeling of hope and a desire to be a better person, more positive and giving. |

I picked up my baby (12 yr old)from soccer with a ice pack on her face!!! They had a scrimage with the boys soccer team and she got a cleat in the eyebrow. It is purple and very swollen. I guess we have book ends for children Connie. Although, thank goodness her eye ball seems to be ok. I'm sure she will have a pretty good shiner tomorrow. How is your son? |

Made it home. I think we are getting into the almost final phase of MIL's life. She has lost 12 pounds in the last 2 months. She sleeps a lot, she doesn't have the energy to cook or clean or do anything. If I didn't check on her she would not take her meds and then she wouldn't have an appetite and quits eating and then she goes down hill extremely fast. She hasn't been eating the food I have been sending out there. I'm not sure what to do...just spend more time with her I guess. I'm tired, we had a busy day. Her dog keeps urinating on the bed, so I keep having to wash and remake it. I did 7 loads of wash out there today. I need to have an organized plan about her care. It's going to be up to me, atleast M-F. And unfortunately I can't get on line out there. Thanks for letting me vent.
On the up side, she bought a shrimp po boy sandwich from Popeye's and offered me one. I had no problem declining. I had a banana and a plum. I need to go eat something.
Debbie, yikes! I hope her eye feels better fast. My son's doc appt went well. He doesn't have to go back. And his swelling is gone, whereas your daughter's eye will probably be colorful for awhile. Kids!
Bronwyn, another funeral! I'm glad you came way feeling positive. |

She only lives 3 miles away, but I am going to struggle with keeping 2 houses. It is left to me, which does seem fair since I only work one day a week, but she isn't my mother and in the past we did not get along at all. Now she depends on me and I will always give the best care I can, but I may end up over my head in this.
I succumbed and had nachos for dinner. I have been avoiding cheese, but tonight there was no time to cook and I am going to crawl in bed and read! Night ladies! |

Connie, My parents went through a lot of that when my Dad's Uncle came to end of life. They cared for him in his home so he didnt have to go to a nursing home. It was extremely difficult and my Dad would find him in various states of undress and unable to make it to the bathroom. Dad would get to the point near the end where he would sit in the car and have a couple shots of vodka before he could go in and deal with the situation in a positive way. It could be that Uncle should have been in a nursing home at the end but he didnt want that. My Mom and Dad went to his home multiple times a day. (His home was 6 blocks away)They cooked for him, washed his clothes, took care of his giant dog, cleaned the house, payed his bills. They did everything for him. He passed away in his bed one day just the way he wanted. It was very hard but they did for him what they hoped one day would be done for them. Most of the time the right thing to do is the hardest thing to do. Stay strong Connie.
Daughter has sports pictures tomorrow. She will have a nice black eye for them!! Priceless!
Bronwyn, I Love the way you described the funeral as a celebration of life. We all know as Christians that death is really a graduation! And we should be happy for the person. Even though we are sad for ourselves. |

About to head out the door, but I want to take a poll here. Who is currently doing NFNS 100%? Who is doing "mostly" NFNS? Who wants to do NFNS 100%, but is stuck getting started or staying with it? Let's be honest, ok? I had no problem saying I was cheating when I was cheating. And now I am being 100% and trying to get these last 8 pounds off, but I'm not sure where everyone else is. Every journey begins with one step. I know your embracing the alkaline diet...can you do that and NFNS at the same time? I read a blog today on Sparks about a lady with two sisters. The blogger is not overweight...the two sisters are. She blogged about a conversation they had concerning food and weight and the gist was the two overweight sisters had an endless list of reasons they couldn't diet. Holidays, social situations, etc. The blogger said if she were overweight she wouldn't wait one more day to begin eating right. I know that is easier said than done, but when you see the excuses in print they seem so little. In the meantime, months and years are going by and the sisters are miserable.
I was at MIL's house for 8 hours today and she kept trying to get me to eat cookies and other junk food. I just can't, I have to take control of my eating. Maybe when I get this weight off I will cheat a little, but while I'm losing I have to stick with it if I want results. And I want results more than a stupid cookie. Not to mention all the good work (eating right) I did before was slipping away. I am denying instant gratification for a while...but not forever. That's important to remember. All the food will be there waiting for me when I want it.
I'm beat. That old lady is wearing me out! |

Debbie you are losing weight so you must be eating better or something.
Connie your challenge should maybe be re-worded to: "Are you ready to quit making excuses and to finally realize your goal and thus realize the reward that comes with true commitment". Connie I think that NFNS fits in perfectly with the alkaline style of eating,....I don't believe there would be anything conflicts, although the eating list is more restrictive with akaline eating. Maybe I have to cook two meals......to over come conflict with other family members. It would be extra work but it may be the key to sticking with the plan. |
Connie
| posted 9-Sep-2010 10:06pm
Bronwyn, cooking two meals can't be the answer. That would be too hard to keep with. Thanks for voicing my thought so succinctly. Maybe your meals could have several NFNS dishes and a dish or two for the other family members to go with it. Your menu plans always included such variety. I feel bad you have to cook other foods, I may have had success, but I have insisted that all foods be NFNS. I don't think I could do it any other way. You need to figure out what eating plan works for you and put yourself first for a while. I know anything you made would be great and if your family is hungry they will eat what you put in front of them. Mine did.
Did I mention my husband lost weight while in Alaska? Boy, you all should hear him! He is very happy about it. He has a small part in a play at our little community playhouse. He has to pick up a woman and he swears she weighs more than he does. BTW, I know this woman and unless she has put in some weight, there's no way she out weighs him. But the point is, he got away from his expense acct for a while and dropped some weight and he is thrilled. Changing what doesn't work can lead to success.
Have fun Debbie. And K10...two teenagers! One the one hand I'm glad those days a re gone...on the other hand, they were some great days.

I very much hope to get married soon, but haven't had time to meet many guys because of school and work. Last night I went out for a second date with a guy: very nice, funny, accomplished. But I think he's just too nerdy for me, if that is even possible!
I hope this will just make you guys laugh, but the thing that got to me, and which I don't think I could get over, was his walk. Our conversations are great, and we seem connected, but when we took a walk for several blocks, it was so weird, it was like he was going to fall over. (We did not drink). He seemed so unsteady on his feet, I don't get it. Keep in mind he is 5'11" and 160 pounds. I actually said "I feel like I'm going to knock you over." And I'm short: 5'4".
I can't explain it, it seemed like a "nerdy" walk. It's like he's so intellectual that he's going to take off from the ground any minute. I like a more solid presence in a man!
Hope all are having a peaceful weekend. |

Thanks for the age reminder Bear. Ok, all I want you to keep in mind is looks aren't everything. How about compatibility and sensitivity? I remember a much older sister of a friend of mine telling us (we were high schoolers!)that what we want in a husband will change over time. Often what we pick out when we are young, we may not want when we are a little older. Of course you have to go with your gut, but just be really honest and fair with yourself. |

Thanks, ladies. I appreciate the advice.
I dislike dating very much. Bronwyn, you made me laugh with the Monty Python reference, I haven't seen it and will have to look it up.
Looks are certainly not everything. To me, they mean very little. I've been in a long term relationship with a man who would not be considered conventionally attractive, at all. I was in love anyway.
I'm certainly not anywhere near perfect, I'm very shy, I can feel awkward, etc. I have a lot of tolerance for social awkwardness in others...
It's when you're walking down the street and feel choked with embarrassment, I think that's where I draw the line. He is quite strange, which is contributing to it, even though I appreciate the unconventional.
I hadn't walked down the street with him, and I think that people wonder if there is something *wrong* with him. I know I did. I find this all kind of funny. I am considering giving him one more chance. |

Hello ladies. Connie: In answer to your question earlier about being NFNS. No I am not 100% NFNS or even close to 50%. My hubby and I went shopping today and we bought lots of veggies. I hope the fam bam eats them. I will be cooking chicken or beef tomorrow with veggies. I think the fact that he shopped with me is a plus. He saw exactly what I bought.
I will do as close as I can. I did buy Skippy Natural PB. It has sugar in it, but the fam is tired of the one we have to keep in the fridge and stir when we first buy it-it ends up so dry at the bottom of the jar. I will still buy Ezekiel bread for hubby and I and 100% whole wheat bread for the girls. I want to try and stay away from the chips as best as I can since I tend to snack on them. I am buying ones that I can eat though and just trying to avoid them. The girls need things for lunches so I have bought them baked cheese puffs from Fresh and Easy and Pirates booty from Trader Joe's, some tortilla chips and some low sodium potato chips to have on hand. I am not buying OJ at this time. Water will be my friend.
I feel like if I don't say I have to be NFNS, I will actually do better. Mind tricks I know, but if it gets me more committed so be it. I still actually look at labels to see what has sugar etc. So hopefully I will be on track from here on out.
Good night. Talk to you tomorrow. |

Hello everyone, I'm back from camping and enjoyed reading up on everyone comments. I weighed this AM. Oh Boy, up two pounds! Its not a surprise though because I pigged out with all capitol letters!!I had every typical football food there is. We had a super great time. Kids were great, friends were great, even the game was great enen thouh we lost. Our quarterback got his clock rung and was out for half the game. We almost came back to win and we would have if we had had one more play. Oh well. It was very entertaining. Congrats Michigan.
It is very true who ever commented on taket in husbands changing as we age. That is why I ass so scared to marry Steve when we met. I was only 17. I was afraid we might eventually split. So I waited until 24 and decided I was in love for the count. We hav been together 28 years so I guess we'll make it.
Bear, Maybe your friend has some real dissablity that causes him to walks funny? My friends girl had CP. She is bright as a wip but her legs just won't co-operate. Morning...151.2 this morning. I tried to go back to see what my highest posted weight on here was, but when I was being "bad" I wouldn't weigh and post it! Anyway, I think I am down a solid 5 lbs. And they were 5 "bulgy" pounds. I managed to get into a size 10 capri's and they looked ok, but last summer they were so loose I didn't wear them much. They are the only size 10's I have bee able to wear. I recently read an article on Sparks that said when you gain and lose weight repeatedly your shape changes. Over time weight deposits that melted off once, will stay around in the future. I know that is what has happened to me. Before, my love handles shrunk, they are not shrinking this time. I still have 5 more pounds to lose, but my shape has changed.
Debbie, I watched the game. I really wanted ND to win. I'm a Mich State fan, not a Univ of Mich fan. It was a great game though. Buckle down and those 2 pounds will come off.
K10, I believe every little bit we do helps. You are definitely healthier because of your NFNS efforts. But for weight loss it really has to be 100%, at least for me it does. It is so hard with children to cook for. That was part of my weight gain...the kids food. Hang in there!

Debbie: I am so glad you had fun camping. One day we will do it again. I have never heard of the ring thing. My hubby did get me a ring for our first anniversary. It had a row of really small diamonds on a thin gold band. This is what I like to call a "panic purchase". The, "oh crud", I didn't buy her anything yet kind of purchase. We are nearly 21 years in, so I guess it has been working.
I am now the proud owner of a gym membership. We live right buy one and my BIL is a new member and we bought one for my hubby. My friend who I have been swimming with has a membership at this gym which is why I chose it. The swimming was going to be $36 per month and the gym is $23.66 per month with access to a pool and classes, so I am excited.
I am going to be having a garage sale in a week and a half any pointers will be appreciated. BTW I weigh 193.3.

Anyway... someone was correct, I'm not here to lose a lot of weight, although I would like to lose some fat. I'm absolutely anti-sugar for health reasons, though, so I'm working on that. Big sweet tooth my whole life.
As far as NFNS, I'm committed. The only breaks I've had are some flour twice in about a month and sugar... about 3 times in that time. |

I'm glad I don't eat that much sugar anymore. I'm sure no one on here does. I'll be reading labels for the rest of my life.
We had steaks on the grill last night. I'm putting them in a ziplock baggie and warming them in simmering water to reheat for tonight. Also frozen peas and mashed potatoes. But I'll just have a little bit of mashed potatoes.

I had a garage sale with some girl friends once. It was pretty successful. Preprice everything. Put signs all around at key corners a couple days ahead. Expect people to show up early and be prepared to negotiate. Have plenty of change on hand and "wear" it all the time. (don't let it sit in a money box) Don't let anyone use you house phone or bathroom. Buy soda on sale and sell it ice cold from a cooler for a profit. If getting rid of things is your goal VS making money you can have a free with purchace table. |

Okay for some reason things haven't been going well or smooth with me for some time now. When I went to Portland to the wedding I had the flu and then strep throat while we were away.....I was really sick the whole time, like in a hotel room missing out on so much stuff,,,,,freezing, sweating and being sick to the stomach. I was put on a heavy dose of penicillin. Today my dental work started and when they removed my crown....they had to do that because there was a cavity under neath.....they found a lot of infected gum and had to do a lot of lasering on it.....and put me on 2 different antibiotics to fight the infection and possible abscess. For goodness sakes.......... That is a lot of antibiotics to be taking so close together.......I don't like to take any meds if I can help it.
I just don't think I could ever get filled up if I did not have any starches.....like rice, sweet potatoes and such. I try not to eat a lot and I seldom have bread but starches are filling and satisfying.....how do you deal with that Bear....no problem with feeling satisfied? I try to never drink my calories....I have never been a juice or a pop drinker and now I seldom drink milk....not to say I absolutely never have them.
Debbie when you were talking about the bands for some reason I thought you meant (music) bands and I couldn't really figure out what that meant
The only yard sale I had was when my kids were little and I made my famous chocolate chunk cookies with pecans and fresh juice for them to sell. They sold quite a bit and I sold nothing.......of course the cookies were expensive to make (callebaut chocolate) and the cookies ended up costing me money but the kids did well

Oh boy Bronwyn, Please get your greek yogurt everyday. I would hate to see you get a C diff infection with your gutteral flora messed up from the antibiotics, on top of all you have been through. Thats what happened to me when I had my wisdom tooth pulled last year. Then I had to take more antibiotics for the C diff. Terrible snow ball effect. But I bet you will feel and be a whole lot healthier when all these underlying infections are gone. Your immune system has been stressed because of your dental infections. Thats why you got the strep and flu. So sorry you have to go through all this. How long do you think this is going to take?
Bronwyn, I was on a super powerful antibiotic. My doc told me the infection I had was the kind that in years gone by would go down to peoples hearts and kill them. I got the C diff from that one. Then needed another antibiotic to clear up the C diff. I thought I'd try to clarify that. We live in a day and age where we can be helped by drugs. Let the process work and get healed. When its all over, you will feel terrific.
Bands, ha, rings. I can't wear my wedding band right now because my diamond is loose. I really miss it.

We don't have trader joe's but I can get a fruit flavoured yoghurt without any sugar however it doesn't have as good of a probiotic ingredients as the others. I should go get a plain one and quick drinking the danactive. Our brands for yoghurts are different.
Debbie I am really torn with the flu shots and no I don't get them. I have read so much negative stuff about them. I can't recommend one way or the other.
Connie you are amazing......wow 150.8......that seems like such a sweet dream to be able to say a number like that.
I got a lot of the length cut off of my hair on Saturday. I had really let my hair go and it was pretty "old lady" from the 60's or 70's long ( .......I wish I had done this before the wedding. |

Debbie: When the kids were little I would get them the flu shot because they were prone to colds etc. I have elected to not get involved with the flu shots anymore. We won't be getting them in our household.
I unpacked some of my red, white and blue decorations that have been packed for 8 years. Some of them I will sell at the garage sale, but I just finished putting some of them on the walls in my family room. The family room is quite rustic looking with brown panneling and exposed beams so I thought it would suit the room. Plus I was feeling like I need to have some patriotism.
Oldest decided to not take honors English. I decided that was fine. She has a busy schedule and she thought the teacher was rather ditsy, which would frustrate her to no end. Here are the classes she has: Language Arts (English), Chemistry, Psychology, Spanish 1, US History, Pre-Calculus Honors. She has always had honors English and she is an avid reader, but we decided she has a hard enough schedule without a frustrating teacher. She is taking pre-calc instead of Trig because we heard the teacher was horrible for Trig.
Youngest has: Language Arts Honors, Geometry Honors, PE, Spanish 1 (she and Oldest are in the same class the same period), Keyboarding (Health next semester) and Earth Science. She wanted to take Geometry Honors so we let her.
I hope they do well. These kids are doing so much more than my husband and I did in high school and they have been good students, I hope they aren't overwhelmed. Only time will tell.
Nothing to do with NFNS, but I thought I would share. Sorry.
We wanted the kids to be challenged but not get burnt out. |

I had basically forgotten why I was avoiding starches, but then found this again: Components of an Anti-inflammatory Diet (focus on meats, fish, eggs and leafy vegetables)
* Low starch and other simple sugars -- insulin and high blood glucose are inflammatory; so use complex polysaccharides (not starch); starch only in small portions (1/2 banana or one side of a hamburger bun) and preferably in unprocessed, less available forms, e.g. coarse ground or fat coated -- bread with butter; less than 30 gm in any meal, less is healthier, grains are frequently a problem -- gluten intolerance.
>> I think that most of the time, all of us avoid the simple carbs, which is good.
>> I keep meaning to recommend to you ladies to take supplemental Vitamin D at 1,000IU per 25 lbs. of body weight. There is more and more research about lack of Vitamin D leading to cancer and other diseases. It's pretty much impossible to get enough from the sun or from milk alone.
Good evening, all. |

Hi ladies,
I'm new here and I've been reading as many of your posts as possible. You have really bonded and a beautiful friendship has evolved because of this.
I'm starting out myself at around 168 and would like to lose about 30 lbs. I don't know how long that will take, but I've finally learned to be a bit more patient. NFNS works for me because I also suffer from chronic headaches and when I reduce my sugar intake, I feel better.
My questions are:
1 - Can I continue to eat brown rice (and other whole GRAINS like oatmeal, barley) 2 - Can I continue to eat potatoes on an infrequent basis? (not together with rice though) 2 - Can I continue to eat fruits?
I have given up all forms of wheat i.e. bread, pasta, but I think this diet would be easier if I can eat the above.
Thanks for all your advice.

Thanks for the info Bear. Last night I had a small serving of mashed potatoes. I add milk and sour cream to them so that lowers the overall gi, but I am being very aware of how much starch I eat.
I made skillet lasagna for dinner and didn't add any garlic toast with it because I used the NF pasta and that is starch enough. It was ok, I forgot to buy some mozzarella and a sprinkling of that would have helped.
My size 12 capris felt loose today. I am so ready to get back down to the 140's. It is going to happen, I can feel it!
Welcome Mary! You can eat anything that do not include the words "flour or sugar" in the ingredients list. Of course you want to watch your fat intake, overall calorie consumption and starches, but it really is just that easy. |

Actually fats have gotten a really bad reputation. Fat aren't as bad as they say they used to be. But its so hard to wrap our minds around that. Isn't it? If we eat higher fat foods (like regular cheese VS fat free cheese)we actually eat less of it and feel full longer. But thats a whole other subject. Good fats VS bad fats. It gets so complicated. |

I know it does, I'm talking about an overall view of fat. I rely on olive oil and real butter whenever I am cooking. And of course half and half. I use some reduced fat cheese, but never fat free, I would rather go without than eat fat free. |

Connie, I hate fat free cheese. I'd eat no cheese at all if it had to be fat free.
K10, I feel the same way as you about the school work I did when in school. The kids have way harder things to learn than we did. My 5th grader brought spelling words home this week that even I had to look up.
I wonder why it is that even though I constantly think about food and how fat I am that I am still fat AND that I still eat things that I know I shouldn't. (how do you like that run on sentance?) It's a bizarre conundrum.

Morning...150.4. My goal is to be back in the 140's by the weekend. My wardrobe options will greatly improve when I get 5 more pounds off. I hope! It seems my shape has changed with this last weight gain. NFNS works so well for me and I have no trouble staying with it once I get going.
I have so much to do today. I really just want to stay home, but no such luck. I'm going for my dental check up and then MIL shopping. Some errands, etc. Still no rain around here. I think the weather is effecting my mood. It is has been so dry and hot for so many days, months really, in a row that I don't want to leave the house. Does anyone else do that? |

Debbie, I just read your post. I think you have to get your "head" 100% into NFNS and rest will come. I have a whole new recipe collection. Many new things to eat for dinner. New snack idea's. My great advantage is my family eats what I make, or they fix their own. And, I don't allow junk unless they keep it in their rooms. It will be work for you to replace your existing menu options, but you can do it Debbie. |

We just had 8 hours of rain on Saturday just before the game. Its in pretty good shape around here as far as the grass goes.. Its the cloudy days one after another that get me down. No sun for a while = no smiles for me.
What kind of trees do you have in your yard everyone? I have two main trees, a Hard Maple and a soft or Silve Maple in the front. Those are our main shade trees. Then we have some Oak at te back and a couple Blue Spruces. Ever green bushes too. We just put some pear trees in on the side and they are doing great. Our yard is 2000 by 200 ft. We live in a subdivision thats about 40 years old. Most of the neighborhood is filled with great big tall Oak trees.
Come to think of it I might have asked this question before. heh |

I had to sit down and figure out what the heck I've been doing lately. My body and legs hurt and I find myself taking Tylenol or an NSAID almost every night. My face is puffy and I've gained back 3 pounds. It didn't take me long to figure out that my terrible diet has led me to inflammation. I haven't been taking my vitamins or fish oil either. What have I been thinking? I have to make an effort to do the things I have learned here. Today I'm turning over a new leaf. I got out my vitamins and am going to eliminate the flour, sugar and hydrogenated oils from my diet. I want to take care of my body so it will take care of me. I have not been doing that and its evident that I'm letting myself down.

Debbie we simply never truly had summer this year, it was so weird. We are usually pretty dry and we have had months of gray, rainy weather.....so unusual for us. We are usually really sunny even it it isn't that warm. I find I have little energy on gray, rainy days.
Debbie how have you been losing weight if you have been eating so poorly? Get back on track and so you don't gain back your lost weight....that would be just too sad.

What about a backpack that has wheels and a handle? They might be too big for a locker.Poor babe. my daughter is on pain too. They played, and loss to a very aggressive, nasty soccer team today. You should see the bruises.:(
Bronwyn I have been eating poorly but have been trying to eat less and less frequently. But I still feel like crap. Being wiser of choices will help me feel better. With the amount of weight I have to loose, what I have lost hasnt made a lot of difference yet. But I will keep trying!! Also, one other thing that might come into play is the antidepressants I stopped taking at the end of July. I don't know, but maybe it's helping me?

I wish kids would use those backpacks on wheels. There are so many studies that indicate how bad the heavy backpacks are for their posture and backs. I tried to get my daughter to use one and she said that it was totally not cool,,,,,for goodness sakes
Debbie I think without your antidepressants you may find a good diet would really help you lose weight. My friend said that antidepressants caused her to gain weight.
I wondered about trying Alli once but when I read some of the reports I decided against that.....sounds pretty gross and potentially pretty embarrassing. You have to walk a lot of miles to burn calories so I think she would have had to have been dieting as well. |

Morning. 150.9 this morning. Oops! I'm going in the wrong direction. Too much Italian salad (think chunks of mozzarella) yesterday. Back to business today. This is the first morning in a while that I have been able to relax...tonight I take MIL to see husbands play. Otherwise, a nice easy day.
Basically everyone that has been on NFNS comments on how bad cheating makes them feel, myself included. You would think that would be enough to keep us in line.
I know of a couple of people who lost weight on anti depressants. Some of them are noted for it. Debbie, it sounds to me like you just need to get a hold of your eating and wonderful things will happen. Try the food journal again. That's always an eye opener. And try 3 meals a day, no snacks. I read an interview with Valerie Bertanelli yesterday. She is such an inspiration. She wears a "step counter" all day so she can make sure she gets her walking in. And she counts calories. She says she feels great and has tons of energy. She worries if she isn't vigilant she will regain the weight because 90+ % of people who lose weight gain it back within 5 years. There's a staggering statistic! That's another reason NFNS should be a lifetime commitment.
And the cross country is a great idea.

I totally agree with K10.....what could be wrong with something that encourages exercise and only requires sunning shoes!
I know we all know we feel better when we eat right....so what is the problem, eh! Actually I am eating well....except the Danactive drink and other yoghurt. I will quit those when I finish my antibiotics. I think what I should have got was the pills with the good probiotics in them instead of yoghurt at all. Connie you seem to drop weight the easiest of anyone....and you don't exercise right. I know I have to get some exercise going to be successful in truly losing weight. I still to be able to lose 5 to 10 lbs. if I work really hard at my calorie counts but it seems to fall flat from there.
I hate to say this because it is not the norm and too many people think that Canada is the frozen north......it isn't and we don't live in igloos and ride dog sleds I don't live on tundra waste land....at all (I live in a beautiful, beautiful place) but there is a sprinkle of snow on the ground.....groan! |

I think typo's are highly entertaining! Some times they even seem a bit Freudian! I do drop the pounds when I stick with NFNS. But that is due to my loss of appetite and the resulting fewer calories I consume. Some days I am not hungry at all, some days I am. When I'm not hungry I don't eat regardless of how much I have or haven't ate. I'm sure people would think I eat too little many days, but I have such a vast bounty of fat to live off of, I don't worry.
I have to do some light grocery shopping for MIL and then back home for some light housework. Tonight is my husbands play and I plan to get dolled up.
Bronwyn, I know you live in a beautiful part of the world. I have seen many pictures of Banff, that area is beyond gorgeous. I guess you take the good with the bad. I wish we had any kind of weather besides hot and dry. When I got in my car yesterday the thermometer read 103. Criminy...it's Sept! I keep looking at the weather on line, and the extended forecast looking for rain.
Debbie, keep up the effort. The more effort you put in, the better the outcome. BTW, how is your son doing? Is he still on his meds and are they helping? I hope he has a good year. |

My son took the summer off of his meds. But he is back on them since he started school again. He seems to be doing well. He dosn't have a lot of homework because he says he gets it done at school. I asked him about the meds the other day. How was he doing with it and if he thought they were too strong, etc? He said no he is doing great with what he has. We will see at mid term progress reports, they never lie! :o) My only concern is that he plays A LOT of video games after school. Several hours. I am always the one who has to say enough. I'm not sure what to do about that. He drives the kids to school and back and and does chores willingly when asked. I think things are going well. Thanks for asking. Kellie is signed up for CrossCountry. She starts on Monday!! Now I am a golf mom, soccer mom and a crosscountry mom. Boy am I tired. |
