Orovo

Summary

Orovo is a diet product that claims to give you up to 10-15 pounds of weight loss in 7 days along with reductions of wrinkles lines and acne.

Description

Orovo was inspired by an Oprah program in which "10 super foods" were presented which give you "Age-Defying Beauty" by Dr. Nicholas Perricone. The wife of Orovo's CEO immediately tried these 10 super foods. While she didn't end up looking 10 years younger, she did lose 10 pounds and the acne she had struggled with was gone.

From that experience, Orovo was created. Of course, eating the 10 super foods was time-consuming and expensive. So, Orovo was created in pill form to condense all the essential ingredients in an affordable and easy to take form.

Orovo claims to give you 10lbs of weight-loss in 7 days, reduces lines and wrinkles as much as 90%, complete acne and blackhead cleared up in 30 days, while giving you motivation, happiness, and health and energy.

The 10 super-food ingredients are: Buckwheat, Alfalfa Sprouts, Lactobacillus Acidophilus (yogurt), Flaxseed, Garlic, Soybeans, Wheat Grass, Barley, Cayenne Pepper, and Acai. Orovo adds 4 more ingredients: Green Tea, Alpha Lipoic Acid, DMAE, and Idebennone.

I'm on day to of Orovo Detox. I took my first two pills at 5:00 am with water then waited for any side effects. Then I took another 2 after 15 mins. No jittery feeling. At a granola bar 30 mins later. Felt good. At noon took 4 more pills with water. Ate a granola bar and yogurt for lunch. Felt fine all day with no side effects. Made dinner and ate at 7:00 pm. Workout after dinner. Had more engery to get things done at night. Which was wonderful. I'm usually dragging by the time I get home at 5:30. I work 10 hour days and have a 4 yr old so the extra energy is a huge plus. Slept ok but I never sleep more then 4-5 hours a night anyways. Got up great took all four pills at once this morning with water. Had a slice of pizza 30 minutes later. Feel good. I haven't had any side effects at all. I won't know until Sunday if I lost any weight.

Ok so day 4 on the OD...weighed myself this AM and i am back up 3.5 lbs. I have had no side effects still. I am a person that drinks a lot of water so the water thing is not a problem. But I will say that I feel like I am retaining a TON of water..which is odd because I don't usually. My fingers feel like little sausages. I am sleeping fine and I am still not sure about any energy surges...LOL Even with my 2-3 cups of coffee a day.

As for an effect on anti-depressants...I take Welbutrin and have for about 8 months now. I take one pill in the morning and another around 3pm. At first I waited a couple hours later than usual to take my first dose so I could see if there was any weirdness going on with the OD...and now I have just been taking the Welbutrin when I eat just like usual. So for me, there has been nothing but as you can see from these postings everyone is different.

So unless something drastic happens I think I will probably not be re-ordering. But who knows...I will follow it through and see what happens...=)

Biotch Hunter are you still out there? How are things going for you?

Ok everyone check in later...=)

End of first cycle: I have lost only 3 pounds. Was really hoping for more. I do have increased energy and less cravings. Headed for the beach in four weeks, so I'm planning to take it straight through with no break.

Stenokween- I thought you were suppose to take a week brak inbetween. I know that on the website they say it is because it makes you loose too much too fast. Has anyone taken it for 2 weeks in a row? We have a thing the 4th of July and I was thinking about taking it from the time I get it in the mail til then...any suggestions?

Jacob'sMom & scelaya71

How are you both doing? I am still here (occasionally)but I have dropped down to one Orovo per day in the morning just to run out my bottle. I am going to have to make a decision about purchasing more or swindling little sis out of her unused portion,so I am sort of still on the fence about this product, but I feel the need to address this recent post;

"I also think that the comments that overly praise this product and the comments that attack people that made negative comments (one post DEMANDS "cold, hard facts" to prove his negative comments!) are posted by people with a vested interest in the company!"

Okay--I think I might have been the one demanding cold hard facts, because that has always been my favorite interrogation catch phrase, but if it wasn't me, I would have felt the same way. If you are going to come on here and tell me Orovo sucks or is a scam, please tell me why, so I can determine if you are what I feel is a viable source of information or just in opposition of the Orovo because;

I also think that the comments that attack this product and the comments that attack people who have made positive comments are posted by people with a vested interest in another product/company.

When I read a post like the one just made by scelaya71, that states she feels the product is just not working, I feel I can trust that post. She is not calling the rest of us stupid, she is not stating we don't know what we are doing to ourselves, she is not calling the Orovo a scam. She is simply stating a fact as she knows it and I trust what she has written. Same with pockets--great post with lots of pertinent information. And alirae22? How many websites offer the chance to tap into such a great resource for free? She is AWESOME and I feel honored to be able to access the useful information she has posted here.

This forum has kind of went past the Orovo into more of a discussion on just about every aspect of health, diet, exercise and 'lots' more and I absolutely LOVE the new things I have learned here. I wish we could take these discussions to a much larger arena, because I think it has been fun and beneficial to read and post to this site. I bet there are a lot more people out there who would love to be able to share their experiences, trials and errors and successes.

So, to that poster who stated "Any scam that runs long enough to collect a bundle before the scammer closes up shop is a sucessful scam, people." I have some information to share with you. Since you don't know me personally, you can take it or leave it, but I have no vested interest in the Orovo. I have a real job in the real world and it has nothing to do with Detox products or diet aids--or even health for that matter. I am a skeptic by nature. I have become so proficient at skepticism, that I have managed some financial gain (albeit small) combining my warped imagination with my skepticism.

To give you an idea of how truly 'non-believing' I can be--I don't believe you. I think you are the kettle calling the pot metal.

Why do I think this?

Because apparently, you have totally ignored the several hundred posts above you showing the Orovo working in various ways(appetite suppression, mood enhancer, etc.) Did you only read the 5th entry from the top? Sort of sounds like it, or you probably would have figured something out; this site is not just a huge bunch of people supporting Orovo products. It is much bigger (and more useful) than that. It is not a "bogus,unbiased-appearing "review" site." Read the posts--do they all appear to be touting the product? No--they don't, but apparently, you did not read the posts and just jumped to your conclusion, which by the way, is not true skepticism, because you did not sift through the info provided to you or you would have figured it out.

I think a lot of us are here with the same goals; We want to lose weight, stay healthy doing it, and if there is a product that might help, we want to know about it. The motivational support I have received on this site far outweighs any benefits the Orovo might be having for me, so if they have sucessfully scammed us, hey--I got something out of it.

But in all honesty, I did get more than motivational support from a website for my money when I purchased the Orovo Detox. Do I care if YOU believe this. No, I don't. But I have enough vested interest in the GOOD people I feel populate this post, to be honest and post those benefits. I am going to do it in another post because this one is WAY too long, but I do feel there is something to this product other than gelatin and sawdust, like I originally guessed.

Sorry for the ultra-long post.

About the benefits;

I do feel the Orovo has been a good appetite suppressant for me. I also have cleaner baseboards, pantries and closets and my living room furniture has been re-arranged three times in three months. I attribute this all to the Orovo.

Side-effects?

Sometimes I think it generates random "there is so much more I could do today" type thoughts. Like while looking at my pom dogs, I have thought; hmmm...I should make them some dog clothes! but I can deal with that and so far the dogs aren't running around in threads made by me, so I guess I have a grip on it.

As far as weight loss,I think I have lost inches more than pounds. I wish I would have had the guts to have thrown a tape measure around my gut and checked the before with the after, but I couldn't find the scotch tape to tape two tape measures together so I could do it. Just kidding. Don't want little sis to run with that one, but really, I wish I would have measured beforehand.
I know by the fit of my clothes and drop in size that I am down.

Is it enough to continue with this product?

My one woman jury is still out on that one and I am sort of limping along, trying to decide if dehydration was the real issue for me or was it adding the Orovo? I know the water I am now consuming is benefitting my hair, skin and even my nails seem to be growing faster than they ever have, so, is it just adding water or is it the Orovo I am still consuming? I guess the only way to test this theory would be to cut out the Orovo and continue hydrating and see what happens. Any thoughts?

Well said Biotch Hunter!!
Now I have a question for you. Have you noticed a difference in taking
just one pill versus taking the whole dosage?
Biotch Hunter
posted 19-Jun-2008 1:34pm

simply me--In all truthfulness--I think my appetite has not been as suppressed as when I took the full dosage, but I still seem to have the heightened energy level I attributed to the full dosage. I have exactly 12 pills left. I am sitting here now trying to decide if I should try one full dose tomorrow to see if my appetite decreases measurably compared to today. What do you think?

Hey Biotch Hunter - Great job on the 2 posts. Thanks.
Well, I think I am going to go ahead and order the orovo and give it a try.
Worse comes to worse, my baseboards could sure use some attention!!!
Thanks again for all the great advice and laughs !! Let's see what happens.

I think that is a great idea. That way you will find out if
there is a significant change in energy level and if your appetite
is more suppressed. You always have your sister's stash to go to!
You can tell her you are doing the experimenting so she will not
have to go to all that trouble. That's what sisters are for.

Biotch Hunter...
First of all, you are TOO SWEET! I wholeheartidly agree with the fact that the motivational and emotional support that comes from a site like this. It is priceless! I have always been one to share in good times and bad (like I'm married to this site or something...LOL) and I so appreciate getting real, human feedback from others that are on weight loss journey as well. I used to be a member of a slim fast online support system, but about 2 months ago, the site shut down and I was left out in the cold. Although I do wish I could meet, hang out, workout and just talk in person to some of you on here, I am grateful to have such a support system at all.
Now for the boring stuff:

Here's the benefits I've experienced from OD:
Added energy
I have increased my water intake
A cleaner house
Harder more effective workouts
Appetite suppresant

The cons:
No real weight loss to speak of
A feeling of coming "down" from the energy, leaving me irritable and exhausted
A few extra trips to the restroom during the day

All in all, I wouldn't stamp this product one way or another, because like I said before....what doesn't work for one person may be exactly what another needs. I don't think I'll be re ordering OD, but wish everyone who tries it in the future good luck with it. I will however stay apart of this site. Hope ya'll don't mind! =)

Biotch Hunter: You are incredibly articulate and I love the way you lay things out...LOL You made some great points with your post and there is nothing more that I could add.

It is funny what you said about the shrinking inches. Here is what I know: I am not unfamiliar with weight loss. I have been struggling with my weight most of my adult life. Either trying to lose weight or (for the majority of the time) working to keep that weight off. Either way I KNOW when inches are coming off. I don't need the scale to tell me that...and I SWEAR when I woke up this morning I felt that same way I feel when I have lost a couple of lbs. There is a certain feeling around my middle that changes when I have dropped an inch or two. Now, granted the scale indicated that I put the 3.5 lbs on that I lost the first day on OD back on, I also mentioned that I feel as though I am retaining water AND I am on day 3 of my period. There is no way on God's green earth that I should be feeling as though I lost an inch or so when I am on day 3 of my cycle. Nevertheless, that is how I feel and I was surprised at the scale...and like I said - I usually don't need the scale to tell me when I have lost a couple of inches or put a couple on for that matter...

So my verdict on OD? The jury is still out. I like the appetite suppressant part of this product. I also like that it makes me thirsty - makes it easier to remember to drink the H2O. I am only on day 4 of this product anyway...I think that it is way to early to tell if this product has value to me or not. Because that is the bottom line isn't it? Whether or not you feel as though you are getting something for your money. As of right now, I do not feel like I shouldn't have bought it...I am still gathering facts. I have this bottle that I am working on now and one more after that. It can't hurt to finish it out and then I will decide.

But I agree with Biotch Hunter...I have surprisingly found something else in this discussion board then what I came here for. I came here for some kind of info and to be honest, someone to confirm my pessimistic thoughts that everything is a scam. Instead I have found some really interesting posts here and some very valuable information. When I get on the computer to check my email and log on to my online classes I am compelled to check this board and see what new stuff has been written. I greatly appreciate all the feedback - good and bad. I treasure the honesty and I have every intention of following these postings regardless of what my final verdict concerning OD....

So there you go.....LOL =)

I ordered OD and waited anxiously for it to arrive; it took appr. 2 weeks, during which time I lived like I was dying and ate whatever I wanted (it was fun, but fattening!). For each of those 14 days, I got more and more concerned about a couple of things: would OD really arrive, or was I just ripped off big time?; and will it "work" and be the answer I have been seeking all of my adult life?

Other great things happened during the pre-OD days. I recorded "lightbulb" moments regarding me and food that I would like to share:

I am a single mom of 6 children--all of my adult life I have been preparing food for a large family--it is no wonder that food has been a constant in my life. As a mother and sole provider to my family, as soon as one meal was prepared, served, etc. it was time to think of the next one, and the next one, and the next one...

I have a 22 year old son that has survived 3 open-heart surgeries, 2 closed-heart surgeries, numerous tests and hospitalizations. He is a special needs adult now and a true miracle, but I have eaten lots over the years to ward off stress (and wondered why I am not wired to lose weight when I'm stressed....damn!).

I have turned to food for comfort, love, stress-relief, to celebrate weight loss (?!), and any other type of event or emotion you can think of (e.g. I have lost weight, and "celebrated" with pizza).

These discoveries and more have made me realize that I have a wonderful life, but a challenge to finally succeed at this "food" thing.

I kind of think I had to reach this point before my OD arrived...and that's why it worked out this way. So far, I have taken the first 2 doses of OD and have felt a slightly warm feeling, slight heartburn, and a bit of a upset stomach but nothing more....I have a stomach of steel so may not be too adversely affected by the OD. I look forward to increased energy and the appetite suppresant effects.

Have a great day!

Canadian Girl - What a strong woman you are! I can relate to the single mother syndrome - been there done that with 3 kids. Now I am happily remarried but to a career Marine that has spent about 80% of our marriage deployed or temporarily assigned in a different state. I have not had the added stress of a sick child and now a special needs adult...that is remarkable that you have taken care of all your children and yourself and have done it by yourself. You are incredible!

I also have eaten out of lonliness, anger, frustration, sadness and in celebration just like you. It is a hard thing to wrap your brain around - that addiction to food. Because that is what it is. What makes being addicted to food so unique as opposed to being addicted to cigarrettes or another drug (not that those are not horrible things to have to come to grips with...) but we HAVE to eat to survive. If an alcoholic doesn't drink they won't die. A cigarrette smoker will live if they don't have a cigarrette for a few days (although they may FEEL like they are going to die...)but we cannot survive very long without food.

All day long we can convince ourselves that we can eat right, be healthy, exercise and do just fine...but it only takes one emotional situation and an available package of cookie dough to undo all the mental work we did to understand our "need" for emotional eating. I notice that I think about food all the time. When I am watching what I am eating in an effort to lose weight it gets even worse. I am thinking either about what I am going to eat, what I should eat, what I shouldn't but want to eat, what I can eat instead of what I really want to eat and when I can eat what I really want too...LOL I hate that. I just want to NOT think about food for a while. I also have 4 children and I go to school full time...so I am also planning meals even when I am not eating them.

One of the best books that I have ever read regarding weight loss is Dr. Phil's "The Ultimate Weight Solution". I am not a big fan of psycho mumbo jumbo, but here is what I like about this book. It is all about REVERSING the mental brainwashing that we have done to ourselves. It is about rethinking our need to emotionally eat. It gives you some GREAT suggestions as to what to do instead of eating. Two of my favorite suggestions are when you feel that need to snack on something that is A)not healthy and/or B) just because, or we have an emotional trigger to eat is to go take a shower...in the time it takes to take that shower you will already have forgotten or at least gotten over the strongest moment of the pull to emotionally eat. The other, is to brush your teeth. This one works great! I for one, am not interested in eating anything once I have brushed my teeth. It changes the taste of the food and ruins the whole thing....LOL Anyway - this book has been a great help to me.

Anyway, I can relate to your soul searching while waiting for the OD to come. Although I am hopeful that something will come out of using this product - I think it has made me realize (for the one billionth time) that I need to just get control of my eating and WORK OUT! I used to be a personal trainer for crying out loud - I know nothing can really be done without moving your body...but I have been happily living in the land of denial (It isnt just in egypt you know...LOL) trying to pretend that I could do this weight loss thing without stripping down to the basics (not my skivvies...LOL that would be scary at this point - but the basic elements of weight loss...LOL) I need to just suck it up and quit all the BSing and do what needs to be done...

Now to get off this computer to go do that...hmmmm another subject alltogether...LOL

Ok sorry for the long post...=) I hope this helps you Canadian Girl and good luck!

scelaya71--I am eating up (no pun) your honesty. Thanks for putting it out there. You have just given me two new tools or maybe I should call them 'weapons' in my fight against weight gain. I am either going to have a happy dentist or an unhappy husband, since we are on a well and water wasting is a pet peeve of his. I figure sixteen showers a day would about fix me up. Maybe I better stick with the toothbrush!

Well it's day 3 on OD and my first day off of work since starting it. Yesterday I noticed that I didn't have the extra energy. I'm sure it's probably my body going thru the detox part of it. Plus I've stop drinking Mt. Dew 3 weeks ago. I was a huge addict!!I was drinking over 88 oz of mt. dew a day.

I've always been thin. I went from 125 lbs to 183 lbs in the last 3 yrs. Dang pregnancy! LOL Actually, I noticed I gained the weight after my son was born. He had colic super bad for 8 months. I stayed home with him until he was a yr. I too ate out of emotions. Stress, being alone, unhappiness and ect. Usually when I think of myself I think of the skinny me. Then I see myself in the mirror and am horrified! LOL

I've come to the realization that I really don't eat out of hunger. I eat because everyone else is or it's lunch time or I'm cooking or I'm bored. I need to first stop that cycle. I need to only eat when I'm hungry! I know when I was thin and before marriage and baby I would forget to eat. I think if I work on the why do I feel the need to eat and stop it. Then the rest will work out.

Plus I don't believe any pill or diet will help you lose weight if you don't get up and move your body! I'm always on the go but now I added a 30 minute hip hop abs routine to my schedule. Grrr. LOL I now get up at 4:30 am instead of 5:00. Oh well!

Just my 2 cents of everything.

Does it really take 2 weeks to get your order? I ordered Monday night...I have gone to the gym everyday, walked a couple of days and eaten like a bird trying to get ready for it to come...only drinking water amazing lost 4 lbs. But my last 10 lbs added I think is because of summer and in inability to find time to go to the gym for 3 wks. I don't know if I can wait 2 wks to start taking something...I think I might go pick up a bottle of Trim Spa...Although it doesn't cause any true weight loss it is the only diet pill I have ever found to stop my sugar and late night cravings. Can I take another pill til it gets here and just switch over?

Kael26--My OD came to Canada and so if your order is within the US, it may arrive sooner. I find it so interesting that I behaved a completely different way than you while waiting for my OD to arrive. Your way is much smarter!

scelaya71--Thank you for your kind words. Also, thank you for the tips on showering and/or brushing teeth when tempted to eat for the wrong reasons. I will likely do the teeth thing first because I have just bought an electic toothbrush and it is awesome. My teeth feel so great after brushing; I think that could really work for me.

It is day 2 on OD for me and I have vowed not to step on the scale until after day 7. What I did notice last evening was that I did not overeat AT ALL. In the evening, I cut my lawn and had 2 popsciles (60 calories each) which was a nice change from looking for anything to eat, just because. I really didn't feel like it. I did not notice a huge change in energy levels but I don't imagine that OD works before it even gets into your system! I have decided to work with the OD and am convinced I will get back what I put into this (just like everything in life, right?).

Have a great day everyone!

i am almost done my week off. i was advised to lower my dosage, due to constipation, which i did. i thought my body would go back to normal this week and it has not. i have also gained back all the weight i lost last week (5 lbs) although if i could "go" maybe i'd weigh less. i am eating good and exercising and drinking at least 10 full glasses of water a day. i will finish the bottle. however if my bathroom situation doesn't correct itself, i will not reorder. i don't care if it helps me lose weight faster, i can't not go to the bathroom! i mean, doesn't constipation kind of cancel out the detox factor? also, it never surpressed my appetite. good luck to everyone out there that it's working for!

I am on my 4th day of OROVA, so I really have no weight loss to report yet. My issue is that I am on my fourth day and I seem to have a real problem with GAS, to the point that sometimes it sneaks up on me without warning (this is very embarrassing to say the least) I do not think that I have eaten anything unusual that would cause this. Does anyone else experienced these systems?

haven't noticed Gas, but I definitly "go" more during the day. Actually, I was taking the OD and the 7FB together last week, and obviously the 7FB is gone now, so it's just the OD, and I don't have near the same energy I had with the both of them together. Some days it's a good thing, and other days, like yesterday, I really needed that extra push at the gym and I just didn't have the drive on my own. Oh well....I'm still down 2 lbs since I started all this, and for that I'm thankful. I was stuck at the same weight for a while (150) and although 2 lbs doesn't seem like much to some, to me, breaking back into the 140's after over 3 years of not being able to get there, is HUGE!
scelaya71
posted 21-Jun-2008 9:49am

Ok so today is day 6 on OD...I am starting to feel a little skeptical about the whole thing. I cannot say that I am feeling any different then I did before. The feeling of fullness is gone, the need to drink water throughout the day is gone and I really hate waiting a half hour to eat once I have taken the pills. Half of an hour may not seem like much but when you have 4 kids and go to school full time and are packing up a whole family worth of house to go across country - half an hour seems like an eternity. I love the morning when the kids and the hubby are still asleep. I like to come downstairs grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the quiet. Having to take the pills and wait kills me. Plus I am so busy during the day that I forget to take them before lunch and then I have to wait. Yesterday I forgot to eat all together after I took the lunch pills. Of course by the time dinner came around I was beyond hungry and ate WAY too much. A little on the counter productive side don't you think?

I think I am just fooling myself. It really is time to face the facts. I just have to do it the old fashioned way. That is the harsh reality of the sitaution. The Marine Corps Birthday is in Nov. Every year there is a Birthday Ball. My husband and I have not gone in the last five years because of his being in Iraq, Afghanistan, assigned to a different state, pregnancy and one year because he just didn't want to go. But this year is his 23rd year in the Corps and he wants to go. So here I am at least 40lbs overweight and there is NO WAY I am going to go to this ball in a formal dress feeling like a cow. Notice I did not say LOOKING like a cow. How other people think I look is irrelevant. How I FEEL is all that matters. If I felt good and confident at this weight then that would be just fine but I don't. So I have approx. 5 moths to take 30-40 lbs. If I set a goal of 2 lbs a week from now until then, that will be 40 lbs...give or take a few for plateaus and such. That is without the pills or whatever extra I think I need. Why can't I just do it? My entire life that has been my motto. Just do it. Don't think about it, don't give yourself the opportunity to come up with excuses, just do it. This philosophy has gotten me through a horrible marriage when I was in my early twenties, a horrible divorce and single parenthood when I was in my mid to late 20's and into my early 30's. It has gotten me through a 100 lb weight loss in my late 20's and kept it off for 8 years....it has gotten me remarried to a wonderful guy and through several deployments and being away from family. It has gotten me a college degree while raising 4 kids and having a husband overseas. It can do this for me too.

I am going to take my own advice and re-read that Dr. Phil book and then I am going to "JUST DO IT". When I lost that 100 lbs I used to tell myself a hundred times a day "Nothing tastes as good as being thin fills". You can't get much corny-er then that but for some crazy reason it worked. Not sure it would work as well now, but I am sure there is some mantra that I can find that would work for me now...

So once again I apologize for the long post - I think I am really trying to work some things out it my stubborn head and this seems to be helping. Kinda of like therapy without the bill...LOL Thanks for reading...LOL

scelaya71--I can relate to much of what you said...I also go throught the mental dialogue on a regular basis. All I want to say to you in a short period of time (my daughter has to be across the city for a track meet), is "Don't give up". You really can do it, like we all can. I am only on day 3 of OD and I feel great. I'm not sure if it is the OD, or if I am just "in the zone". I love your mantra..."nothing tastes as good as being thin feels". I love that and will remember to tell myself that as often as I need to.

More later.....have a great day!

I plan to buy the product but to be honest I'm breezing through the emails and I'm reading everyone's stories of hope, but I have not read anyone saying they have a regular workout routine while taking the product. Are most of you looking for a miracle pill to drop the fat while u continue in your reg way of life? Something else has to change. Nothing works without proper diet and exercise. Even exercise alone with lots of water will shed about 10lbs in a month healthy and comfortably, some within 14 days. But it take some sweating. Maybe I'm wrong and I have not read EVERY post but reading these "woo is me" comments won't shed the pounds

AG~I think there are several of us on here that hold and maintain a regular workout routine, but I'll speak only for myself. I go to the gym 4 times a week, each visit for an hour. I do cardio and circut training while I'm there. I also have 1 and 3 year olds, so that keeps me pretty active. In addition to ALL THAT, I also have a Fluidity bar, which is like a ballet bar and several workout videos to go with it that I try to do a couple of times a week, each video lasting about 30 min. I think your comment about some on here being "woo is me", I think you mean "woah is me," but whatever. I can speak personally when I say that losing weight is a CONSTANT struggle for MOST, and "exercise alone with lots of water will shed about 10 lbs in a month," is not always true for everyone. Maybe if you're talking working out like you have no life, and with a personal trainer that costs about 300 bucks a month or more...then yeah. We like to keep each other informed and upbeat on here, so if all you plan on doing is being rude, then we would prefer if you would take it elsewhere....
To everyone else on here....keep up the hard work girls. We know we're not naive in thinking it's a "miracle pill to drop the fat while we continue in our regular way of life." It is a daily journey, this losing weight stuff and if we all keep each other motivated and accountable then we're all set!

AG~One more thing I was just thinking...
Your statement of "exercise alone with lots of water will shed about 10lbs in a month healthy and comfortably, some within 14 days" is so black and white. Do you know that weight loss is 90% what goes in your mouth, and 10% exercise? If this pill can help some people to gain control over their portion size and help them to not crave the greasy bad stuff, then don't you think there are some pretty major benefits? Just a thought...

I definately noticed that I cleaned more today, specially considering there were people at my house all day. So I guess drinking(beer) is not recommended-grilled out with friends. I think I can I drank a 1/2 gallon of water in 6 hrs. I hope that will be enough for the fiber. Started out at 191-have decided to weigh every morning.....hope to not be too disappointed.

AG: I hardly think that most of us that post are looking for a quick fix. If you read the posts thoroughly you will see that most of us are aware of the need to be physically active and are just looking for something to give us that little "kick" that we need. As for me - I do cardio 4-5 days a week. Plus I also have kids - 4 to be exact and that keeps me running. But as we age (women particularly, usually sometime in our 30's, what we have always done before to keep the weight gain at bay does not always work as well. That is my case. So yes there is a bit of "woe is me" to my posts because I am realizing and accepting the fact that something new has to happen to get the results I used to get with less effort. What started as a torn ACL (a sports related injury by the way) has caused a multitude of physical problems to include arthritis and weight gain that is not remedied in the same manner that it could have been a few years ago.

As I am rereading some of the posts I am also coming across a number of them that talk about what goes in our mouths. I think that it is safe to say that none of us live thinking that we can eat anything that we want and get the results that we want. Although I think that we would all agree that that would be great in a perfect world....We all realize that we have to watch our diets and it is just a question of coming to terms with what we should be doing.

If you read my posts I used to be a personal trainer and I know all about what it takes to lose weight effectively and in a healthy manner....and I will tell you that "lots of water and exercise to lose 10 lbs a month and sometimes in 14 days" is neither healthy nor recommended. If you have any knowledge of the subject then you know that a comfortable, healthy amount of weight loss should be no more than 2 lbs. a week - which is about 8 lbs a month - any more than that you are losing muscle not fat and that is counter-productive. If you succeed in losing more that 8 lbs in two weeks - trust me you are not losing any amount of weight that would stay off if you lived normally. So that alone is not a true statement.

You may also notice that some of us that post regularly do it to gather information, supply information or simply have an outlet and a discussion with people that may know where we are coming from. So AG, my question to you is this: why are you interested in ordering the product? After all, if you think that we are all looking for a quick fix, then on some level you must also be looking for a "quick fix" or you would never have even researched a product that claims to help people lose weight in such a short time period. So what is your angle?

Everyone else - keep the posts and the comments coming - it helps to hear about the struggles others are going through even if it is just to reassure some of us that we are not alone in this battle of the bulge!

Hey folks .. thanks to everyone who has posted. Your stories helped me decide to try orovo detox. I bought on ebay and received it four days later!!

I'm 5'5" and 194 lbs/36% body fat. I've lost 11 pounds with exercise and diet but have been stuck at this weight for six months. So, I'm hoping orovo will help me break this plateau. My goal weight is 160-165.

I walk for 30 minutes 3-4 times a week. I'm going to give up fried food and sweets while I'm taking orovo.

I'm going to start tomorrow. Will be back to update!!

P.S. For the poster asking about ALLI - not sure if you got an answer. I tried it - didn't work for me. Terrible side effects (oily discharge). Also, I found trying to count fat annoying. I don't like having to do math while I eat :)

Hey everyone,

I just started taking Orovo Detox today, and after a few freaky moments about 2 hrs after my 2nd dose of the day, (though that was after my first jog outdoors in about 5 years) I am feeling pretty good. Just to give you some background, I was tired of not losing any substantial amounts of weight, despite exercising nearly every day for the past 3 weeks on my Wii Fit for about 45-60 minutes and altering my diet to include less fats and more veggies & whole grains. After 3 weeks of this, I have lost only about 5 lbs. And this was going from eating whatever I wanted and exercising 0 out of 7 days to eating healthier and exercising 6 out of 7 days. Talk about frustrating!

As well, I'll continue to update after my first week, unlike several others who have posted so far. I've read good and bad things about Orovo Detox today, and will make my own judgements after a reasonable amount of time. I hope you will do the same.

And for those who are wondering, I am on a LOT of medications for someone of my age. Each day, I take 200 mcg Eltroxin (aka Levothyroxine) for my non-functioning thyroid, 20mg of Losec for acid reflux, 75mg of Effexor for anxiety, 10mg of Reactine for allergies, 1 puff of Flovent for asthma, 1 Jamieson Stress-Ease multivitamin, and 1 Loestrin pill for birth control each day. I also get migraines around 'that time of the month', which I take Imitrex for as needed.

Wish me luck!

Kael26--I was wondering exactly the same thing. I am on day 4 of OD but am driving to SK to see my mom during the 7 day off cycle. I feel like I don't want to take a break, especially because I will be traveling and away from my home. Based on the ingredients, I wonder if it really is bad to go off for 7 days. The ads for OD say to take the 7 days off because you lose too much weight during the 7 days on. From the posts I've read, I have not noticed that. Also, based on the ingredients in OD, I'm not certain that it would be bad to not take a break. Can anyone provide some insight into this? Thanks.

So day 2 and my weight is 189 lbs. I plan to post everyday my weight so if will be out there and I can't hide from weight loss or gain. That makes me feel good but was hungry this morning. So I had a fat free yogurt and the idea of drinking a half gallon on water is daunting. My mom is also starting her pills today; plus she is going to do the cabbage soup diet with it. She thinks if you do 2 diets that claim to have losses of 7lbs in a week that she will for sure lose 7 lbs. I hope she is not disappointed. I plan to walk with her everyday. She will be the one to back out so I hope to motivate her and keep myself in check.

I had a sports related injury at the onset of my "fat" days, too. It was the fourth of July in 94. Almost everyone at that barbecue was drinking with the exception of my husband and I and my eldest sister who got wrangled into babysitting everyones kids. Since it was an overnight event, the drinkers in the bunch were also taking full advantage of the fact they were not going to have to drive anywhere.

My brother-in-law, the host, decided a game of volleyball was in order. I guess he forgot about the two-foot hole in his lawn, covered in grass clippings(My sister has since divorced him, but that was on account of a different type of HO). But that night, he was like my best friend when I went down, offering the cushions off his new couch and three of his best drunk buddies to carry my makeshift throne to my husband's waiting truck for our trip to the hospital.

I will never forget that ride. Those that felt the "need" to "help" (one short of a hillbilly football team) piled into the back of the rig and away we went, cushions and all. I don't even know how we made it there safely, because for most of the ten miles back into town, my husband had his eyes mostly on the rear-view mirror. I swear it sounded like they were bowling back there every time we went around a curve so I guess we were fortunate none of them fell out. Did I mention one of the reasons I slid into the hole and didn't just fall into it, was because of the extra large pile of miniature doberman doo, little Cricket, the family dog, decided to leave in close proximity to the hole? It was a smelly ride, too.

When we got there I breathed a painful sigh of relief, knowing the hospital would probably move me through as fast as possible. It was the way the receptionist kept wrinkling up her nose that guaranteed my first place position. I guess watching adults pillow figthing with poo covered couch cushions in her waiting room was too much for her, because they paged my doctor soon afteward. That actually was the worst part, because when they called Dr.Cornnut, for some reason all the drunks in the group thought that was hilarious. Have you ever heard eight drunks with the giggle fits? Not a pretty sound.

Anyway--as usual, I have derailed my line of thought on the comments recently made concerning the Orovo. I am with you on the woe is me thing; Sometimes, I do feel sorry for where I am, weight-wise, and regardless of what any 'has it all together' person might think, it isn't all that easy, once the pounds have made a home in your system, to erradicate them for good. I am not looking for a 'quick fix', just a kick in the pants.

FYI--I am still doing the one a day, because I am running down to my last eight pills, which will be day after tomorrow (Tuesday)and then I will test the 8 verses 1 for appetite suppression theory.

Good luck! Hope this works out for you and let us know how it goes with the various medications (side-effects, etc, if any) About those "freaky moments" could you please post what happened, I am super curious.

Also, the Wii Fit; do you think it is worth the
money? Is it fun? My kids are hounding me for one.
They got the Wii this last Christmas.

They have had tournament type(VERY EXPENSIVE) dance pads since the darn things became available, and I will admit, they have used them a lot, especially when friends dropped by. But when we went from x-box to playstation 2, they ended up with one of those inexpensive plastic pads that came with a playstation 2 game and I am serious--it works just as good as the fancy metal ones they have! Price difference? 2 metal pads= 599.00 plus shipping and they were heavy. One vinyl pad= 39.99 and the DDR game came with it.

Anytime I can hone info about a product from a person who actually owns the product and not the company that manufactures it, I listen closely. Any info on what you think about the Wii fit would be greatly appreciated.

Hey all! I've been reading your posts FOREVER now lol. I ordered OD about 2 weeks ago and have been on it for about a week now. I started my first day by taking the full dosage but after being jittery, having a fever and only sleeping 2 hours that night when I had the opportunity to sleep 7 I moved down to 4 a day. I only take the 4 in the morning. I'm a college student and I work full time and I have an internship so I have NO TIME! I'm 5'5" and normally 135-140lbs but after moving out and having to fend for myself I'm up to 150. I don't have time to exercise and I'm greedy!!! So anyways I'm taking OD, 4 in the morning 30min before breakfast, and I'm definitely eating MUCH less! I've been eating mainly fruits and veggies. I've lost 5lbs so far and it's day 7. I'm not going to take a week off since I only take 4 a day anyhow. I'm not using the bathroom any more than usual but I am eating MUCH less and better. So as far as a detox goes OD doesn't really work for me but it does help me eat less. So I'm going to keep taking it until I reach 135lbs or until I reach a point where it isnt working, which ever comes first!! I wish you all the best of luck when using this product but to keep in mind that there is no miracle weight lost rememdy without smart eating and/or exercise.

Hello Biotch Hunter.
I have to tell you that I LOOVE the Wii Fit. I gained over 60 lbs with my last kid and I've been quite out of shape for the last couple of years. Wee fit is awesome. The only down side is that the time between exercises cannot be shortened so it takes approximately 1.5 hours to do collect 1 hour of exercise credits (this may be a plus since you get to rest between the exercises). The machine has a balance board and it keeps track of how correctly you do your exercise - immediate feedback. It has a virtual trainer for Yoga and Strength exercises, Aerobics (hula hoop, jogging, step and boxing) and Balance games. It's amazing how much you exercise during the games - my family is trying to beat each other's scores - funny. I'm certain that Wii will come up with another game soon to address the concern about timing in-between exercises, though. My advise - get it if you have time to exercise in front of you TV.

Should I expect this to change? I took 2 in the morning and 2 at lunch on the 1st day. Today 3 and 3 and plan to move up to 4 and 4 tomorrow. Should I drink more water?

Biotch Hunter,

Well, it's day 2, and I've had more "freaky moments", which includes shakiness, dizziness, nausea, and a general weird feeling. Also I yelled at my fiance for no apparent reason. I've been taking 4 OD with a 500mL bottle of water, which is 16oz exactly 1/2 hr before I eat.

And yes, the Wii Fit is worth it if you have a problem with making excuses for not exercising outside the house. lol It's also a lot of fun, though I've unlocked all the exercises already (in a month), so I worry that I'll become bored with it. But I've heard that they're coming out with more games for the balance board besides Wii Fit, so hopefully they'll be good!

My apppetite has been supressed and I do get that acid feeling after a dosage. Truely, i've read so many blogs and comments about orovo. If you believe it will work for you, IT WILL! Taking less is definitely working for me, the full 8 had me bouncing off the walls!! And the fact that I only slept 2 hours that night made me mad!! One thing I can say, I haven't been sleepy at all throughout the day (which is unusual) but I have no trouble falling asleep at night since taking just 4 a day.
Maybe they're working like placebos like Moisunique said but I know it is making me eat less whether it's my mind or the actual thing. And since I know no different (haha) I'm going to keep taking them until it no longer works for me!! :)

I've also been checking my statistics on my BMI scales and my fat percentage is going down and my water level up. I was concerned that it would just be a water lose, but so far so good. I wish it didn't have caffeine in it though. I have only been able to take 3 pills a day for the most part. I actually made it up to 6 pills total today (breakfast/lunch). hello all. just a little intro. i'm a 25 year old [female] 5'1" and a mind boggling 177 pounds. my orovo detox just came in the mail this afternoon, so i am looking forward to trying it out tomorrow morning. i'm hoping to get a little jump start with this product, even that first 5-10 pounds would be nice. i've put on a LOT of weight recently mainly because of major depression that i do not treat because i think most mood altering pharmaceuticals are absolute fudgeery. i've put on about 40 pounds in 7 months. my average weight is around 120 pounds, i am now at my highest ever, my lowest being somewhere in the high 90's three years ago.

i'm breaking up my goals in small increments so as not to disappoint myself right out the gate. my first goal is 155 lbs with no "deadline" on that goal. when i get close to it i'll figure the rest out.

looking forward to updating with my progress. or lack of, depending on how things go

ahaha! they do not allow the f-bomb on this site, hence "fudgeery" it automatically corrects it to something PG-13. that made me laugh. i like this site already

It's great to hear about everyone's experiences. I just started my second day of Detox and feel really good, although last night I felt a bit nauseated past midnight. I took 2 gravols and slept like a baby. I'll keep you posted! Good luck everyone.

day 4 and I am at 188. so still at 3 lbs down. I am concerned that I have not had many "bm"s. I know it sounds crazy but normally going 2-3 times a day and now not at all yesterday or today....does any one have any suggestions or advice?

biotch hunter..you out there? I don't feel constipated but wonder if i should take something to help me go?

anonymous: It is not fudgeery on my screen! It say f**kery.

brick house- your depression may in some way be related to your weight gain but also some anti-depressants can cause weight gain. And if you get on the right kind you won't think bad of them. I had post-pardom after both babies and they helped me alot. Why would you so quickly dismiss them? HAve you ever tried any? Both my dad and step dad got cancer...it has helped them decide to live what they have less and not just sit around and say "I am depressed so I am not going to do anything" like so many people do.

I just received my first bottle, but, it came w/absolutely no instructions. I read somewhere on line before I made the purchase that you are supposed to take these for 7 days, then skip 7 days, then take again for 7 days, etc. Can anyone tell me what sort of regimen you follow? Do you do the 7 days on/7 days off? Do you take 1 pill 3x day? 2 pills 2x a day before breakfast and lunch? What do you find works for you?

Hi rr- I take 4 pills 30 min before breakfast and then another 4 30 min before lunch. They say you are supposed to take them 7 days on and then 7 days off because of the danger of losing too much weight too fast. I haven't had that problem so I am seeing what happens if I take it continuously.

Today is day 8 on OD. Up until day before yesterday I was taking the OD and the Fat Burner as well. I had lost 1.5 lbs. Yesterday I only took the OD and this morning I weighed myself and apparently lost another 1.5 lbs. While I was taking both products I commented that I felt as though I was retaining a lot of water even though I was thirsty all the time and was drinking water like a fish...LOL Anyway this morning was the first time that I have not felt as though my fingers were little sausages about to pop...LOL The only change that I made was that I stopped taking the FB and only took OD today. I just thought that was a little interesting.

Good luck brick house! I know what it is like to suffer from depression and I am currently on Welbutrin. I can honestly say that I have been incredibly thankful for this product. I just wanted to feel normal again and feel like I had hope. This medication gave it to me and I have had no side affects whatsoever except feeling like myself again!

Keep up posted on your progress with OD!

Kael26...as for you lack of BM's it probably wouldn't hurt to try and drink some prune juice. What always works for me like a charm is full caff coffee...LOL Caffiene is a stimulant and it works for me in a matter of minutes...that was why I started drinking coffee every morning years ago - of course now I can't function without a cup to start my day but at least I am pooping...LOL Hot tea can work well too or my kids use hot chocolate...LOL

let me know if anything helps!

well first day on the OD went just fine. no jitters, no headaches, no nauseousness. i guess i peed a bit more but oh WEIRD! thats probably because twice a day i drank like a gallon of water. my appetite was actually quite curbed. maybe just from drinking fluids all day?
i actually read all of the comments on here start to finish and you know what really cracked me up? the same question came up over and over "has anyone stopped using this product and was able to keep off the weight?" now i might be a fatty again at this moment in time, but you know how that happened? i ate like crap and didn't move around enough. like helllllo. if you quit taking orovo, be it that you're on the product and its working, or you're on the product and it gives you that placebo affect and you just become more conscious of how you eat and how much you exercise and lose weight that way,:if you stop giving a damn, YEAH, you're gonna gain the weight back. not exactly quantum physics here. so there is that question answered. thank you thank you no need for applause.
i am looking forward to weighing myself when i wake up in the morning. i'm also curious to see how i sleep. as i usually sleep like hell, it really can't get much worse. i also don't wake up til noon [the joys of having your own business. oh what a life of leisure i live =P] so my first dose is around 12:30 and the second at 5-6.
blabbing blabbing blabbing. til next time!

oh and kael26: i was on meds before and they don't agree with me. i try to fix myself naturally which works most times, in time. no bad mood lasts forever and its not like i got my legs blown off in 'Nam or anything, so no use jumping off a bridge or crying about it :) and i was depressed before i got fat. i think.

Day 3

The scaled toyed with my head this morning - went to 189 for a second and then bumped back up to 191.2!! BUT - I lost .6% body fat - almost 1% in three days is awesome!!

Took pills as recommended. Felt a little nausea this afternoon but tolerable.

Breakfast: trail mix bar; lunch: 6 grilled shrimp, 6 oz. steak, pasta salad; dinner: 3 slices of pizza, ranch dressing & carrots; dessert: starbucks coffee light frap w/shot of hazelnut

Walked around the neighborhood with a friend - leisurely stroll - but out for about an hour.

Today is my first day off the OD pills. I got up and drank all the water that I would of
if I was still taking the pills. I think all the water is a huge part of any diet. Do the
pills work?? HHMM I think they worked for me in just making up my mind to actually lose the weight.
Once I stopped joking and lying to myself about being fat everything else is falling into place. I'm now eating when I'm hungry not when I think about food. Cutting out the pop has been HUGE! I think I was
hungry alot because of all the sugar in the Mt. Dew. I've lost about 9 lbs in a week and people are noticing. I think peoples comments about my weight loss have helped me much more then the pills. LOL Everytime I
think to eat I think of someone's comment on my weightloss. HHMM guess I really don't need that ice cream cone then. LOL

I think a diet is 80% in your mind and 20% action of it. If you can make up your mind to really do it then the rest falls into place. I've said I was going to loss weight many times before but I've never really put my mind into it like this time. I think this time is really going to work for me.

I hope everyone good luck with their goals!!!

Jules: I completely agree with what you said about the 80-20 part of dieting. Our mind is the biggest thing in anything we do! Amazingly enough I am loving the OD now that I am only taking that and not the FB. I am not sure why but I feel much more energized and morivated. When I was taking both I did not notice that feeling at all.

redphoenixca2006: Thank you dahling...LOL I try to always be honest with others and with myself...as for the encouragement - anything I can do to help. It helps me to know that there are others out there that relate to what I have to say and support my efforts regardless of what the outcome might be.

Canadiangirl: I am anxious for you to step on the scale tomorrow as well. I always look forward to the updates. I hope you see some progress.

Back to the mindset thing. I have a new slogan. I mentioned before the one that worked for me years ago "nothing tastes as good as thin feels" - but I have a couple new ones "BE committed. DO what it takes. HAVE what you want." I love that one and it really helps me to remember what it is that I really want and how bad do I want it? enough to do what it takes? ABSOLUTELY!! The other one I read in an article about Dwayne Johnson (AKA The ROCK) and how he transformed himself from a pro wrestler into a box office hero. His motto in life is this: "Always improve. Always evolve. Never give up." Great words of advice from someone that is both physically fit and not bad to look at either...LOL

OK people...enough of my mind shattering insight for today. I hope everyone is doing well and making progress. Biotch Hunter: we miss you and your quick wit! Hope you are well!

Let's get our ever shrinking behinds in gear and whoop some fat's behind!! LOL

Hi Ankastes,
I too had the same question and went to the Orovo website. They said it was okay to take both, just not the Orovo Detox and 7DFB at the same time, since they are both detoxers. I'm sensitive to caffeine, so I took 7DFB by itself. Wow! I start my week off tomorrow, and will start my Orovo then. Next week I will try both together. Good Luck!

Weigh in: 191.2/37% - no change - but my watch is looser, I have more energy, my skin is healthier, and I'm making good food choices.

No exercise today other than some core training (sit up type exercises) for about 10 minutes. Just going to relax tonight :)

Breakfast: trail mix bar; Lunch: chicken cashew salad; Dinner: salmon, potato salad, carrots

I find committing to writing down what I'm eating here very helpful - I think "If I put that in my mouth, then everyone will know!!"

Anyone ever read, "Making Peace With Your Thighs: Get Off the Scales and Get On With Your Life"? I haven't - just curious if anyone's read it and thought it was helpful ... can't remember where I heard about it!

Cheers to everyone - keep up the faith :)

Great news! I have just finished my first 7 day OD cycle. I woke up this a.m. and weighed myself to see an 8 pound weight loss! I feel great but very nervous about my 7 day-off cycle. I did not overeat at breakfast today, and am already on my second litre of water. I decided to follow the OD instructions to the letter so took 8 capsules of OD with the 30 minute wait before eating breakfast and lunch. I also decided to really push the water intake. I am very aware of my suppressed appetite and wonder if it will be as intense during this 7 day cycle....I'll keep you posted....have a great day!

CanadianGirl: YOU ROCK! LOL 8 lbs that is great!! Sounds like you are motivated so I think you will be fine during your 7 day off cycle....=) As of this morning I lost another .5 lb. That brings my total to 4lbs. I will take it...that is 4 lbs less that I have to lose...LOL I feel so much better now that I am not taking the FB and the OD at the same time.

Plus I discovered a great new effect of the OD. I have a rare condition called APD - Autoimmune Progesterone Dermatitis. In short, my body is allergic to the progesterone that it makes. When I went through puberty and when I was pregnant with all 4 of my kids I developed a rash on my arms and my legs. After my last baby was born it never went away. Usually it would go away when my hormones regulated themselves. This time that did not happen. It would get progressively worse during that time of the month and during the middle of the month. Anyway they did test after test after test until they discovered this condition. It is very rare and in the severest of cases they load you up on steriods and hormone blockers. Steriods did not work for me and the concensus was that I would just have to suffer through it. It was basically confined to my left forearm with just a little bit of rash on my other extremeties. Anyway - when my hubby was in Iraq I lost 40 lbs. with that the APD went away. The doctors said that it was probably due to the shift hormones your bodies goes through when you lose weight. Eventually I put that weight back on and the APD came back. But since I have been taking the OD it is just about gone. Which is incredible! Maybe the detox cleaned out the build up of progesterone...I don't know. All I know is that it is almost gone...WOO HOO. It is a pain in the butt to have and to explain...

Now to just lose the next 36 lbs. But that is alright! I am on my way. Checking in here helps to keep me motivated. Plus I am not looking at it as 36 lbs to lose...just one pound at a time...and soon they will be all off...=)

kael26: dont give up...=) Just keep doing what you are doing and it will come off. We just have to hang in there k?

ankastes: I did the OD and the FB together the first week and I did not like it at all. In fact I was going to ditch both products altogether but decided to try just the OD by itself. I feel much better. I never really had any bad side effects but I did seem to be in a bad mood all the time and I felt as though my blood sugar was all over the place. Now I am just taking the OD and I feel level again and in a much better mood...so food for thought...=)

Ok everyone have a very Blessed day and I will check back in later...=)

Well ladies....
I finished my OD and 7dfb several days ago and I don't think I'll reorder. I only lost a lb and I did take the OD and 7dfb together the first week, which made me super anxious and irritable at times. I wish you all the best best best of luck! As for me, I am still about 18 lbs from my goal weight, but most likely won't get there before September, which is when I wanna try for baby #3. My mini goal is to get to 140 (8 more lbs to go!) by then and I will feel like I'm in better shape to get pregnant again. Right now I am trying my own custom version of the grapefruit diet. Not the hard core, fad diet, but just cutting back on my complex carbs and sugars and drinking grapefruit juice with every meal. I started yesterday, and I have lost a lb, so I'm pretty excited. Plus, it's a heck of alot cheaper! LOL
I really do think this site is such a great source of encouragement and I fully intend to check back from time to time with you all.....

Blessings, and keep up all the great work!

Canadian Girl - Hi. I saw your question about the Master-Cleanse/Lemonade Diet and yes I have done that one twice and with good results. But of course the last time was almost 2 years ago and the 20 pounds have come back !! I liked it though and am still trying to decide whether to try the Orovo or do the M.C. again.

The hardest part of the M.C. is not being able to eat anything !! By day three all you can think about is just chewing something. But also by day 3 I did notice a huge spike in my energy level, was thinking more clearly and just felt good !! really good!

Downside of the M.C. - the Sea salt you have to chug then staying near a bathroom for the next 2 hours. I was never brave enough to try the laxative tea, though.

Both times I lasted 8 days and lost 16 pounds (18 pounds the 2nd time) and have to admit that I looked at food a lot diffrently after coming off the cleanse. In fact, I still am eating a lot of steamed veggies, chicken, salads, ect....Which is funny - because I was a junk-food-junkie and now am a lot more aware of what I am putting into my body. Well...with the exception of the Cherry-Garcia that always seems to be in my freezer.

Anyway - If you have any questions please let me know.
I'm still going to be checking in and reading how everyone else is doing while I try to figure out which way to go.

Have a great day !!

4 pills at 7:20 am with a breakfast 30 min later of about 350 cal. I've been trying to take in most of my carbs at breakfast and having very little of them during dinner. I don't know if that's making a difference or not. Did 30 min of cardio and abs today, took 4 more pills at 1pm and then had about a 500 cal lunch 30 min later. Hi Nifer.
I started to take 7DFB and orovo at the same time. I am not sensitive to caffeine coz I drink coffe and I felt ok. But I wouldnt recomend you to use them both if you are sensitive to caffeine coz It might be too much for you. But you never know. Try it for one day and if you feel good continue. I live in UK and I contacted uk orovo web side. They replied me within one day. They said, 7dfb first week and then orovo. Aperentaly, 7DFB is a kick off for orovo.
I had a lot of energy today, didnt feel hungry at all, but I have tried to eat lot of fruit and fish. I eat a lot normaly so was happy I could go on without overeating myslef hehe. Good luck, I will keep you posted.

Jacob'sMom--thanks for the info on MC. Can you recommend a site that has the salt and tea information on it? I found the recipe (lemons, water, syrup, cayenne) and then the rest of the info was a "hard sell" to buy a book that gives you "tips" on how to get through the diet. I am off work for 3 weeks soon, so may try it...or else wait until I'm back at work and kept busy...I'll play it by ear.

I am still nervous about how the 7 day-off cycle will go because I feel like I could overeat if I wasn't so 'in the zone' right now. The good thing is, I am still drinking lots of water--on litre #4 right now.

Then I had a Chicken Ceasar salad for dinner. I'm not sure if I ate it to fast or to much but after 3/4 of it I ran to the bathroom and puked it up. Yuck! Yuck! My tummy is still icky. on day 3 of the OD and all is going swimmingly. i lost 2.1 lbs the first day and another .6 by the time i woke up this morning.

i've been very good about what i eat for the last few weeks. since i live in a city with an awesome italian market i've been able to get my hands on fresh produce and like REAL meat from a butcher shop that just got it's cute little throat cut by somebody that actually works at the farm the day before. dead serious, you can visibly SEE, let alone taste, the difference between fresh, well cared for [before it was dead] meat.

about an hour after i took my morning dose i had one egg with a piece of toast and 2 pieces of turkey bacon. snacked on some almonds in the afternoon. took my afternoon dose around 5 though i didn't cook dinner [udon noodles with shrimp, asparagus, mushrooms and pepper mmm] until around 10. my boyfriend and i keep odd hours.

cleaned the house ALL damn day. i think this stuff really does give you stamina or something.

for whomever asked about the "lemonade diet" it works very well, whether it be for weight loss or detox. as far as weight loss goes, its just fasting. you don't eat a thing on it, just chug spicy lemonade all day. it might as well just be water or juice or tea. as far as detox, YEAH. it cleans you the f@#k out. i never did the sea salt water chug though. last i checked that just oh i don't knooow... dehydrates you, makes you sick and crazy. it gives you the runs because your body can't process it. thats why it makes stranded sailors sick and insane. you know? rhyme of the ancient mariner? "water water everywhere and not a drop to drink"? bad sh!t. i did laxative tea. 100 times less scary. lost about 20 pounds in a week and a half. only gained 4 back when i had solid food again. hated every minute of it.

Canadian Girl - Hello. Unfortunately, all the sites I have found are trying to sell you something. I got a book from a friend of mine who still does the cleanse twice a year and loves it. Anyway - if your interested, get sea salt because it has to be un-ionized - and it's not as hard on your system as you would think - but it will definately clean you out !!! The laxative tea that I got (but didn't try) is just called 'Senna" and you can get it at just about any health food store. Also - when your getting the maple syrup, make sure that it is 'Grade B' - it has less sugar and makes a big difference. I would make the lemonade in a concentrate and keep it in a water bottle and mix it whenever I made a glass - and would add the cayenne pepper then - the longer the pepper sits, the hotter it gets. At lunch I would drink a small can of V-8 juice and you can have a small bowl of broth at dinner.
Anyway - I hope that some of this helps.
Have a great day.

Jocob'sMom--thank you, that helps a lot. I'm still trying to decide if I'll try it.

I am day two off OD and feeling good. I was at a BBQ last night and felt like I overate a wee bit but not bad, and no snacking after I got home. Today, I have a huge stress trying to decide if I will put my 13 year old daughter in a new school across the city. She has had some problems (partly her fault, partly the teachers fault) so I talk about them with my bf. He is tired of hearing about it, which made me angry (life is not perfect and it sure isn't for a single parent of 6!). This will be a real challenge to see if I turn to food out of frustration, or for comfort, or even because I am pissed off with my usually compassionate, loving, caring and understanding bf, who has decided to be the opposite of that today. Sorry for the rant, and thank you for reading....have a wonderful day everyone!

Breakfast: light yogurt, strawberries & 1/4 banana; lunch: salad w/cheese, croutons, caesar, turkey; dinner - hmmm ... can't decide - but I'll make a good choice!

Tomorrow is last day of week on OD. Haven't seen amazing weight loss like some posters - but I've got a plan and I'm sticking to it. Appetite is lower. And it says on the bottle that results improve with each cycle. Anyone found this to be the case?
