Protein Power

Summary

"Protein Power: The High-Protein/Low Carbohydrate Way to Lose Weight, Feel Fit, and Boost Your Health-in Just Weeks!" is a diet book created by two doctors.

Description

Like Atkins and The Zone, "Protein Power" turns the tables on the traditional diet. It reveals that it's not the fat we eat that makes us fat, it's the carbohydrates.

"Protein Power" promotes eating larger portions of protein while dramatically reducing the portions of carbohydrates. The result is that our bodies are forced to burn the extra fat in our bodies. The emphasize that "Protein Power" is not a high-protein diet, because most of us have not been eating enough protein. The encourage us all to eat an adequate amount of protein while limiting carbohydrates quite a bit.

It's the diet our bodies were meant to eat. Humans evolved during times when we were hunter-gatherers. Refined grains were non-existent back then. We ate meat from the hunt along with gathered nuts, fruits and berries. There's very little carbohydrates in this diet. In modern times, with processed foods, carbohydrates (bread, rice, potato) are the biggest category of food we eat. We need to go back to what our bodies were designed for. This means more protein, far less carbohydrates and some fat is OK.

"Protein Power" is filled with charts that will help you do various things to take control of your eating habits. You will determine your body-fat percentage. Also, you will figure out the idea weight for you body type. There are also worksheets which allow you to determine how much protein you need and how little carbohydrates.

There are also tons of recipes in "Protein Power", 75 recipes total in 70 page. Sample menus are also provided to help get you started on the right track.

Exercise is encourages as it is necessary to help burn off the extra fat.

im 13 and im around 7 1/2 8 stone (i don't know what that is in kg) and im 159cm.Your wehigt is completely normal and on average for your age, don't worry! How do you know you don't like vegetables? have you tried every single one? maybe you should, you might find some exotic ones that are actually quite nice! i thought i hated runner beans but i'd actually never ate them before and once i did i loved them! i have them all the time or if that doesn't work you could try having them in a sauce, i hate cauliflower on its own but i love it with cheese sauce! For your lunch box if you are concerned you could try healthier options like taking the fruit you like and putting it in a fruit salad with your favourite fruit juice, the juice would also absorb into the green apples and make them much more softer (if you leave them long enough) so they won't break your braces. Another idea is the Go Ahead fruit bake bars (trust me they are not muesli bars), they loads of flavours (including green apple) that you could try. I am hooked on them and have them always with my lunch at school. Also instead of sandwiches you could try tortilla wraps with your food inside ( i have chicken, lettuce and mayonnaise but you could try something different)i hope i helped you somehow x
