Summary
Quick Weight Loss Center (QWLC) offers a direct in-person, one-on-one program to help people change the behaviors that make then overweight through education and counseling.
 Description
Quick Weight Loss Centers are spreading rapidly in Florida, Texas. Their approach is to make direct contact with people who want to lose weight. Changing your habits to a healthier lifestyle is a huge challenge. Many people try and fail over and over. But, maybe the problem is that going out on your own to buy a diet book or a new diet pill just isn't enough. People need support and encouragement from other people.
There's a lot to learn when you're changing your lifestyle to lose weight and keep it off long term. QWLC offers extensive education for people who want to lose weight, covering the key components of a healthy diet and how to incorporate effective exercise into your life. Your progress will be tracked by QWLC personnel weekly and even daily.
After you lose the weight, QWLC stays with you to make sure you don't slip back and gain the weight back. You've made those changes to lose the weight and keep it off, but now you need to maintain. QWLC is there for you, providing help with how to avoid unhealthy foods and choose healthy ones when you go food shopping. QWLC doesn't make you buy special foods that only they sell, you just shop at the same places, finding everyday foods that are healthier. Though, you will also be given special QWLC weight-loss aids that will help you.
QWLC focused on a diet plan that keeps your calorie intake at a reasonable level (typically 1,500 calories per day). The diet emphasizes balanced nutrition high in vitamins and minerals while low in refined carbs, sodium and fat. These are scientifically proven diet recommendations (no fads or craziness).
Before you can join Quick Weight Loss Center, you need to get the OK from your doctor. So, you know QWLC is a healthy and effective program.
QWLC offers programs for women, men and even children age ten or older. Often the programs for kids are free. So, if more than one member of your family needs to lose weight, you can go together for that added support.

I started going to a QWLC a year ago, bought their products, followed their plan carefully and it worked great for me! It was expensive but I was at a place where I knew I needed the supervision and guidance so although I am still paying off my credit card I am glad I did it. Their guarantee was appealing to me and so I used their products until I made my goal but I have since found other places to get comparable products for a better price. I lost 60 pounds! |

Did you finish with the Stabilization and Maintenance phases or did you just stop? As anyone who has lost weight knows, losing the weight is the easy part, keeping it off the hard part! This program does an incredible job of teaching you to keep the weight off, but if you stop before you go through the educational process, your odds of keeping the weight off go way down. Sounds like you did the first part great and stopped too soon? |

I did this years ago and was thinking of going back. Was wondering if they still start you out eating meat, lettuce and an orange for three days. |

I used QWL and lost over 80lbs!! It is expensive but worth every penny. I'm thinking about going back on plan to lose another 10lbs. Does anyone remember how the plan starts (the first three days)? |

I loved QWL, lost 65 lbs. in 2002. I was able to keep it off for 3 years, but have let go in the past 2. My Dr. was impressed with the diet plan, although he normally does not like any quick weight loss plans. I felt better while on the diet, too! I am back on the plan, although I live too far to drive to a center. I am searching diligently for my daily food diary sheets and can't find them. If anyone has one, I'd love a copy! email - pettybunch@peoplepc.com
Yes, it is more expensive than some, but the supervision and guidance is worth every penny. BTW, I used comparable products such as Adkins bars & shakes from Walmart, as well as the South Beach Diet bars. MUCH CHEAPER!!!! |

I did QWLC diet about 10 years ago. I lost approximately 30 lbs. Ten years later I've gained some of it back and wanted to get back to what i was once. When I did it, they gave us the Phen-Phen and then changed it to Phen-pro. Anyone know what they are using as the pills to surpress appetite now? Please email me at fxybrzln @ yahoo. Thanks! |

I did this diet about 6 years ago and was pretty successful. I want to do it again but can't afford, does anybody have the actual diet you are supposed to follow? I think the first 3 days are 2 eggs for breakfast, an orange for snack, same meat choice for 3 days, along with lettuce or green beans, anything green.
But I do not remember what to do after that?
please help I need to lose 60 lbs. Thanks |

I did QWL last year and lost 35 pounds. I've now been "cheating" quite a bit the last month! I've gained back 8 pounds so I'm going to go back to the 3 day prep. When I went to QWL for the first time I was not instructed to eat "the same meat for 3 days." I was told to choose from the list of meat and that I could eat any of the meat on the list for the 1st 3 days. They just said not to "mix" meat. So no steak AND chicken for dinner. Meat choices are: * Beef * Veal * Liver * Lamb * Chicken * Turkey * Fish/Shellfish You eat 2 eggs in the morning, 1/2 an orange at mid morning for a snack. One of the meat choices for lunch with unlimited raw green vegetables. You can use Light Italian Dressing on a green salad. Eat the other 1/2 orange as your snack in the afternoon, and again do the same for dinner as you did for lunch. Drink 8 10 glasses of water (80 ozs.) In addition to the water you can also have 2 cans of clear diet soda, 2 cups of coffee or tea or 4 cups decaf, and no sugar or cream. Hope this helps! |

And also you must drink eight 10 oz glasses of water per day. Don't over do it or else it will show up on your weight. |

how are the eggs to be prepared? Are they boiled, poached or does it matter? Do the Eggs for breakfast continue throughout the diet, or only the first few days I would also like to know the rest of the diet. I live way out in the country and could not afford to drive to a center. |

I tried QWL about a year ago. I did great on it. I lost 30 lbs in 2 months without exercise. I did have trouble sticking to it though. I don't cook much so the food became boring to me. I was tired of eating chicken and eggs almost everyday. I can say, I now own every product Mrs. Dash makes. LOL! I have sinced gained back all my weight but I still have the paperwork and the year of maintenance. I plan on getting back to it next week. I feel miserable |

Well, it is sad to hear that so many people "fell off the wagon", but don't get discouraged - do what you did before. Losing weight is easy, but if you don't learn to keep those habits that helped you get it off, you will always gain weight back - ON ANY PROGRAM. Those habits were what got you fat to begin with, so why didn't that become a permanent change of your life, as it should have??? GET BACK ON THE HORSE!! |

I did the QWLC program last year and lost 80 lbs. it was incredible! However, life happened, and I wasnt able to follow it to the "T" in the past 8-9 months and have gained back 20lbs. but with the knowledge of food that I gained from QWLC I've atleast been able to maintain at my current weight for a few months now (6 months?) and plan on getting started on the plan again soon to lose the 20 lbs. again, along with 30 more. Just FYI, you don't have to be on their paying program to purchase the products from them. I have gone to my center and purchased the pills, the supplement items (bars, shakes, etc.) and its no big deal, as lots of former clients often do this apparently. I do wish the products were more affordable though, $16 a box for 6 bars/supplements is way too expensive! Good luck to anyone out there considering starting for the first time or trying it again. |

I am interested in learning what the diet plan is for QWLC. I read above about the first three days, but what do you do after that? I live over an hour from the nearest one. If anybody has the nutrition guidelines, could you e-mail them to me? Thanks!

I was on the diet 10 years ago, and lost 25 lbs. After 3 kids I now need to lose 50. I live in Michigan, and the diet centers have left the state, although since I am laid off I could not afford the plan anyway. If anyone could please email me the diet, it would be greatly appreciated. This was the ONLY diet I ever really lost weight on. omnirvmgr@cablespeed.com |

Like others on here, I tried the QWL diet many years ago and did loose weight...the thing I remember the most is how GREAT I felt after about two weeks of being on the diet. I need to get back on for a while and get my 20 lbs back off that I gained. Like others, I no longer have the food list and combinations you can use. Can anyone email me the info? LRK0909@hotmail.com I would appreciate any assistance as I do not live near a center (currently in England). Many thanks! |

My mother-in-law has been on the QWL diet for the last 7 months and has lost about 60 lbs. It is the only diet that has ever really worked for her. I was shocked when she told me the cost, but my husband and I both agree that the cost is worth it if you get guaranteed results. She is letting me use her materials so that my husband and I can try our own version of their diet. I found pretty much all of their supplements online at Diet Direct under the WonderSlim and BariWise brand names. The QWL Centers in Houston have a website with all of their supplements, including the nutrition information so you can compare them. They are $9.99 a box instead of $16, PLUS you can get 10% off and free shipping if you spend $99. They also have pills that are comparable under the WonderLife brand name. Also, there is a company called FRS who makes the exact same QuikBoost powder supplement for less (it's $19.95 versus $25 for 14), but if you sign up for their monthly Auto-Ship, you get an additional 40% off (which makes it $11.97 a box). We will probably go it on our own until we get near our goal and then maybe sign up with a center to get help during the Stabilization and Maintenance phases. I hope this helps! Good luck! |

I have been on the program for almost 4 weeks. It is a great program thus far. My friend is who told me about the program, she was supposed to join also, but did not. I am happy though that I am doing the program so I can lose weight. I really don't eat alot of food or meat, but I like sweets. Since I have been on the program, I have not craved sweets. It seems like the taste for sweets have been substituted with healthy foods. |

I am 1 week into the diet and have lost 7 lbs. I think you can eat any apple you want as long as it is a small one. The only fruit they restrict to green only is the grapes. I eat both Granny Smith and Red Delicious apples, but they are pretty small (my grocery store sells them 3 for $1). I don't know if I would recommend doing the first three days for longer. I was SUPER tired of eating the same thing day after day and was so happy to be able to eat other food again. There is no indication whether the meat on the first three days needs to be lean, but I think it makes more sense to eat lean meat; we only had chicken. It can be cooked with skin but no breading and you can use butter, margarine or oil. |
