History

The Sonoma Diet was created by Connie Guttersen R.D., Ph.D. It is inspired by the lifestyle of California wine country (Sonoma Valley). She is a registered dietitian and nutrition instructor at the world-famous Culinary Institute of America.

Criticism

The Mediterranean diet has shown to be effective for preventing heart disease, but less evidence exists for weight loss. Alcohol (from the wine, which is encouraged) could increase your risk of breast cancer.
