Description
The Zone diet touts eating foods in a tight balance (often referred to as "blocks"). A block has 40% carbohydrate, 30% protein, and 30% fat. The idea is that this ratio is both health and satisfying for people. Overall blocks per day are set as well. Thus, the amount of food you eat is limited. This is a low calorie diet. This diet was created by Barry Sears, Ph.D. In 1995 he publish the book, "The Zone".
Criticism
It can be hard to feel satisfied on a low calorie diet like this. Thus, it can be hard to stick to it. Also, food choice tend to be limited due to the balance requirements.
