Xenadrine RFA-1

Summary

Xenadrine RFA-1 was a discontinued Ephedra-based diet pill.

Description

Xenadrine RFA-1 was one of the most popular brands of Ephedra-based diet pills. It's a stimulant that reduces your appetite and causes you to burn more calories as well.

But, Ephedra was banned by the FDA after 2003. It was linked to many deaths. It causes your heart rate and blood pressure to go up. So, it can cause heart-attacks in people with weak hearts.

Xenadrine RFA-1 is no longer available in the USA.

History

Xenadrine RFA-1 was made by Cytodyne Technologies. Since it was discontinued, they have put an Ephedra-free product on the market, Xenadrine EFX.

Criticism

Ephedrine has been shown to have serious adverse effects, include hypertension (elevated blood pressure), palpitations (rapid heart rate), neurophathy (nerve damage), myopathy (muscle injury), psychosis, stroke, memory loss, heart rate irregularities, insomnia, nervousness, tremors, seizures, heart attacks, and death.

Also, studies have shown that Ephedrine-based supplements only provide short-term weight loss.

I've heard a lot of people say Ephedra works... it's too bad it's so dangerous (apparently).

I also took xenadrine rfa-1 after I had a baby and lost 62 lbs with it, and I continued to take it right up till it was banned. I never, ever had any adverse effects from it! No jitters, no heart problems...Since then i gained 12 lbs back and have not been able to lose them no matter what I ate or worked out and now that I'm older (11 yrs since I first took it) it's getting harder to keep the weight off. I too wish it would come back on the market. Never seen it at auction but if I did I would buy it in a heart beat!!!

I really enjoyed xenadrine rfa-1, and I too was sad when it was banned. It gave me the energy I needed to climb out of a deep depression and start taking care of myself again. Yeah I lost about 70 lbs. roughly and did not gain then back. I can understand the controversy surrounding this ingredient, there are side effects, but side effects much worse than these accompany numerous prescription medications prescribed every day by doctors. I have taken a few prescription medications listing horrific side effects and when I addressed them with my doctor I was told that the side effects outweigh the benefits of the pills. This is how I feel about ephedrine. I think that people are seeing this as an herbal supplement and therefore overlooking the suggested dosage, but just like with prescription meds if you abuse them you will have complications.

i have also have taken xenadrine rfa. it help me lose weight and curve appetite. i was 160 to 130 and a size four for my wedding. my advice to the people that was abusing the pills and did not get themselves check by their doctor regularly think before using the pills, dont touch any more diet pills ,do your research first, see your doctor for examination. i am working even harder since the pills been banned, i have been trying other diet pills and they dont work. now i am ordering them from the company.

Xenadrine RFA was by far the most incredible fat burner ever created. I took it for several years and felt fine. It worked well and assisted me with maintaining an incredible figure. The FDA or whomever need to re-evaluate their decision to ban this product. It is amazing to me when you hear the commercials on TV about pills that have been created for high cholestrol, impotence, etc... and the side effects sound worse then the problem, BUT those pills are OK. I'm sorry if ephedra was suspect in some individuals deaths, but so are these other pills that are prescribed daily by doctors. If the FDA banned all pills that killed people, there would be no pills left for anything, even headaches. It all has to do with MONEY!!! Bring back Xenadrine RFA.....

I actually found it at Walmart yesterday for $20 for 60 pills...strange though, I found it sitting with the vitamins and nowhere near the weightloss pills...AND it was the only one of it's kind.

Sarabellum, is it Xenadrine RFA-1 or Xenadrine EFX? EFX is still on the market because it doesn't contain Ephedrine.

I just did a search on Walmarts website and they didn't have anything.

I used to use RFA-1 as well and I lost close to 50lbs in a 4 months period. I was really bummed when it was taken off the market. I actually went into a GNC the day it was removed and that's how I found out it was gone.

BUT, but for those of you who wish you could still take it, you can. If you do research on why RFA-1 worked you'll find out it was because it was based around the ECA stack. The ECA stack is 20mg of Ephedrine HCL/200mg of Caffeine/300mg of Asprin. All of the other ingredients were basically just the frosting on the caked (the cake being the ECA stack).

So basically what I'm saying is that you can make this at home for a fraction of what RFA-1 used to cost.

You can go to sndonline.net to buy pure Ephedrine HCL

You can buy 200mg caffeine pills at your local supermarket along with asprin

So far it's working great for me.

Okay, I did a little more research in regards to those that claim to have purchased RFA-1 recently.

It is indeed back on the market, but it is NOT the same as it used to be. There is no Ephedrine in it (which is why it worked so well). Also, it is not made by the same company anymore. It used to be made by CYTODYNE and is now being made by CYTOGENIX. So it looks as if another company has simply just bought the Xenadrine RFA-1 name and slapped it on their bottle.

I've looked for reviews of this new version, but can't find them anywhere.

So once again, IT IS NOT THE SAME THING AS IT USED TO BE!

Also, to Brad above me who recommended the ECA stack, I did some research on that as well and I am going to give it a try.
